I still prefer the Engwe engine pro for it's sturdyness and I even put a rear seat as you have on the rear rack, but mounted it on a 50cal plastic ammo box raising the seat level at the same time acting as a nice storage box.

here in japan you need to register your ebike if your speed go 15kph up and if you used a throttle and not allowed to the sidewalk 🤣. Nice review

The wallke h7 awd dual motor , has roughly the same specs except it comes with a 40 ah bat . 4 piston hydraulic brakes , dual rear suspension , a step thru frame and is several hundred cheaper (almost $900 cheaper if you get it on sale ). I'll take a dual suspension , step thru frame , 40 ah battery , 4 piston brakes over that thing any day , but i guess it just depends on what you want and what you are willing to pay for it , just sayin

A couple of my followers on Facebook have these and they’re so tempting but … and this is a big “but” it looks like a police magnet, same as that dual motor Engwe M20 of mine. Being a 250lb rider I want this, more so I need this to get me up really steep hills. Question is buddy, catch a bored copper on a bad day and it’s points. Looking forward to the second part of this review.

I bought one of these bikes after the delivery nightmare with my M20 Gee. I can't fault it at all. Like you said though, it is a bit of a magnet. Ive been sticking to country roads but still have that looming feeling that its going to be on the back of a police flatbed soon 😂

That's why I converted my very ordinary looking mountain bike. On first glance it looks similar to any other legal ebike. Never had any coppers remotely interested in it.

How far did you ride it before the motor died?. I've got a cheap diy 1500w kit with 3000 miles on it and I'm surprised it still works, probably won't by the end of the winter as I intend to ride it all the way through.

Sorry about that. I've been riding around a lot since this video though and it's fantastic. Great brakes, Decent gears (would have liked 8 speed to help more at 28+ but that's not a deal breaker). 2 Motors feels great and battery seems good too. I love it.

It's coming into summer soon here in Australia, and last year I only remember seeing one or two escooters in my small-ish rural town. This year, oh man, everyone has an escooter and ebike it seems. Lots of parents and their kids going to and from school on the escooters, lots of delivery drivers on the ebikes. My state has 2 laws, one stating nothing over 200w is legal, and a second being that ONLY those escooter rental companies are allowed to have escooters (crazy, right?). But as far as I have seen, police don't care. But all it takes is one big incident and crackdowns will start.

It was like that here in the UK for years where you could ride an escooter and the police would completely ignore you. Unfortunately we did have many incidents so now you can't really do it. Unless it's one of those crappy rental scooters which are capped at 12.5mph or 20kph.

Now i think a powerful ebike needs its own classification. But i do think if its over 50cc(which i believe is around 4kw)equivalent it should be registerable easier than it is. Cbt in UK isnt so bad its just expensive then to register a vehicle and get insurance for the ebike is hard

Nice looking machine. But I'd say it Devours the battery. Battery's are rubbish. That's why I bought a spare battery. The Engine Pro, in real world conditions, gives me about 70km in eco mode. But it does 55kmh an hour in sport mode 😊 I was going to buy this bike, but the x3000 model 1000watts. I like the handlebars. Cool machine. But I'm happy with mine. Engine pro is a great ebike.

eu and uk did not determine how 250w limit is achieved.. either through a manufactured 250w motor or restrict it in settings to try and equate 250w

They say 250w is ample....as long as the road is flat and moderate inclines. 500w would have been a better all rounder even if it was restricted to 15.5 mph, better at hills

In Sweden there's three classes: bike - 250w motor max. moped basic - 1000w motor max, don't need to be registrered, is allowed in bike lanes. max speed 25km/h, needs to be insured moped advanced - 4000w motor max, need to be registrered, need sto be insured to, max speed 45km/h So the lanke is classified a class 1 moped in Sweden, so would need a license place too

Great review this bike looks great. I have the EP-2 Pro because of the review you did on that and the T14 for popping in the boot when I am working in a city. Although technically illegal they don't cry out look at me like the escooters do, although I do fancy getting the ix4 or ix6. I don't think they will ever make them legal. To me if you're not riding like an idiot and give way to everyone, no harm done. It's the odd person giving everyone else a bad name.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly 👍 scooters are brilliant for hopping on to local job but they need to be legal. Even though they're everywhere I still don't feel comfortable. T14 is great though bloody heavy for the size. Glad your ep2 pro is working out 👍

The peddles on a moped are useless they are just for starting the motor from momentum of the moped.

Let's not muddy the waters by calling an e-bike a moped. If it's got real functioning pedals, it's an e-bike full stop, especially if it's got gears and/or pedal-assist. There are moped-style e-bikes like a Super 73 or Onyx, but are still by technicality classified as electric bicycles. The word "moped" often gets used interchangeably with scooter (not kick-scooter) and are basically the same thing.

Incorrect, a scooter can’t exceed 28mph while between 28mph and 48mph are considered mopeds, pedals or not, my dad still has an old moped that has bicycle pedals, I think it both cycles the vehicle as well as acts like a kick start, your basically saying a Tesla car is like a crappy child’s electric car, they are electric vehicles end of and the law clearly defined them regardless of how much you kick and scream.

By your logic, a truck that can do 150+MPH should be classified as a supercar... even though it's still y'know... a truck.

@@DesuVR yeah but putting bicycle pedals on an aeroplane doesn’t make it a bicycle either, it’s all about the power and therefore potential speeds artificially generated by a motor that crosses the realm of your power from your body to power preloaded and ready to be a potential hazard. It must therefore be regulated.

@@odtube the law just need to catch up, the government claims it wants a green energy revolution in Scotland especially so it’s not in their interest to be stopping and checking them out, they aren’t a nuisance and they are out the price range of you typical yob even at Christmas, working class families would maybe get them a cheaper one that’s still really good and it would be totally legit like 250w motor, 24v max cut out doors of assist if 15.5 mph and you can’t have a throttle that starts the bike, you can have one once you cycle then throttle, i loved silencing that last guy with logic he must be consigning deleting his comment now I’ve made him look like a retard lol

For one a decent e-bike costs at least twice an average moped, my engwe m20 goes 38 mph that’s firmly in the moped zone and I could have got two brand new 125cc dirt bikes for that price

@@e-VRC bought straight from the engwe not via Amazon or any third party they would restrict it to UK laws, it can actually be further unrestricted but I don’t see why, I don’t want to burn out the motor or do anything that would effect my warranty, not yet anyway, but I have videos on my account proving that my bike can easily reach that speed on a flat surface, I think in the video it gets to about 42mph the motor cuts out at 38 mph but if I let the throttle go then reapply it I get an additional kick I can do this all the way up to about 45mph, I think you can actually do the bulk of this in your normal settings, I even had to use my phone gps as some guy theorised I had the wheel settings wrong and artificially making it appear the machine was going faster but you can tell in the video the speed not just the devices.

Check all connections coming from the throttle. I'm unsure if it has a throttle activation sequence but you could try turning off the brake, holding down throttle and brake on the same side then turning it on. Keep holding throttle and brake for 10 seconds. Test throttle but make sure you're not in level 0.

That thing will eat your hill for breakfast. My EScooter is dual 1000s, and I have yet to find a hill that even makes it break a sweat, and that's in eco mode with a 235 lb rider. I don't even need to see the results. You have a new hill climb champion. Using both motors does drain the battery faster, but not as much as you think. Ginger on Wheels did some tests with a dual moter Escooter and I think it drained something like 10% faster in dual moter. Of course that was a scooter and not a bike, but I'd guess the physics carry over. I don't really agree with the people that say going 15 mph on the road is unsafe. I mean I certainly want to go faster than 15 mph don't get me wrong, but I don't think that's a valid argument. Cars have been sharing the road with slow bikes going < 15mph for a hundred years, and I don't think there's been a commuting apocaplyse. If anything going faster is less safe, because the cars now have to race to get around you. Not to mention it might make you feel you can ride in the middle of the roade rather than on the shoulder where you belong. Anyway, unpopular opinion I'm sure, but that's what I think.

eBikes should be about eBikes with a motor to make life easier, So the speeds should be realistic for normal bikes and he brakes etc. should be suitable for those types of speeds. If one allows "mopeds with pedals" to go much faster on much heavier the injuries will be much more serious and the brakes, helmets etc. should be suitable for mopeds. In the USA multiple states are now switching to mandatory insurance etc. for all ebikes because their 22mph limit already show more accidents with more serious injuries. So, insure it as a moped for if you should injure someone. Use appropriate helmet and breakes etc.

@@e-VRC you can get a decent brand new 125 for a g but it defeats the point of having an e-bike, I’ll eventually invest in a 3k+ one equivalent to a 125 or higher, I like they are lighter and more bike like yet has the speed but the m20 does look like a moped to be fair I get funny looks all the time when I beat traffic and go onto pavements like I’m a motorcycle doing it, I can go wherever a cycle bike can go that’s what they forget and I’m always pointing to my peddles, most people think it’s a bike, I wear a proper crash helmet too, and boots ect so I look like a biker I suppose, I’ve also installed the offside mirror

My question is can this ebike be insured against theft here in the UK and you do not hold a licence?. If the answer is NO would you ever leave it unattended ? Prefer the videos to concentrate on road legal ebikes rather than Ebikes that are not legal. Ok we all know the uk law on ebikes good be better if it was 20 mph . Most folk buying ebikes are the more mature is my guess and will use the pavement when no cycle path is available . Especially when confronted with heavy traffic on busy roads. I can just see these powerful ebikes coming down a pavement ridden by a teenager...no thanks!

And theres the ebike problem in a nutshell. “You can just imagine these powerful ebike being ridden on the pavement by a teenager”. What about these rest of us? Middle aged, helmet, road savvy, have mature common sense … or are you obsessed by the half a dozen teenagers that can afford one? Don’t get me wrong, I see your point of view … but for these to be a green solution we have to start dealing with the idiot problem by letting it happen.

can go around in circles but the legalese have a different viewpoint. Yes an e bike is a moped, doesn't matter what the speed is restricted to or the wattage. What the legalese forget is the primary function of a motor. They see the world motor and pedal. Even if it was 50w, it's still a motor. A fuel moped technically could be pedalled around all day but practically they never done that. When the fuel motor is on, they could pedal a little to assist the motor. The fuel moped primary driver is the motor. The pedal is merely a starter or an assist if required. The e bike is the opposite. The motor is the assist, not the main driver. The only time an e bike motor can be the primary driver is propelled by throttle only. There are politicians calling for 15.5mph e bikes to be classed as mopeds A motor does not propel the e bike so it is not a primary driver, only the pedal and chain does that. So it is not a moped. The motor assists during and after it is propelled. Once the legalese sit down and think...but they still say a motor is still a motor wether it is a driver or an assist

@@johnsouthwales1078 Perfectly legal, even 5000 watts, just make sure the motor is switched off and your pedalling only, and that is the grey loophole of the law.

If it has been designated as an Ebike by the company that make it, then it`s an Ebike and not a moped .That`s against the trade descriptions act to say otherwise .Close on £2000 is too rich for my blood , better Ebikes out there that are much cheaper , the dual motors are just a gimmick .I bet it weighs a ton PS i see you using hand signals on an Ebike that costs nearly two grand , the turn signals should be built in at that price ,that is pretty pathetic

Agree about the hand signals. It doesn't take much to add indicators. The dual motor definitely isn't a gimmick though it's massively useful. One might not use both bit then turn them on occasionally to help out in hilly areas.

I've just been to turkey and you can rent these style of electric bikes and scooters on the road, and dont need any license. I drove an electric trike i hired off the street that did nearly 40mph 🤣.

People are riding powerful ebikes unregistered because there is a category of ebike that is allowed without anything needed on roads. The same thing will happen when private escooters are finally allowed and they'll make them weak and restricted to 15mph. People are just gonna immediately go out and buy ones which do 50.
