Life is too short for boring cars! I was wanting a more practical daily driver form carrying bikes and car parts without having to compromise for something boring I wasn't interested in. I picked up this restored Range Rover classic in Chamonix white with a 200 tdi manual

Super clean for a 32 years old lady, good choice, and i'm agreeing with you, when you want to go biking, hunting or just do some offroad trip with friends, you can't use the M3 for that. I did the same two years ago, i bought an X5 E70 diesel as a daily, sometimes you have to make smart choices for the usual aspect of life. And by theway, i also love the white color on it, it changes from the green or black that we usualy see on Range Rovers.

Thanks yeah I agree I think it suits my outdoor life and I have my other cars to enjoy driving! I’m really happy I ended up with the white as I’d actually never owned a white car either!

This was a Greater Manchester Police Motorway Group car based at Birch Motorway Post on the M62 at Birch Services. It spent all it's time with the police on the motorway. It had two volt meters because the motorway cars had two batteries. One for all the police equipment and the other just the cars main battery.

It's awesome mate! Funnily enough I've just found your channel - I have an e30 myself and a 93 Range rover coming back from restoration in the next couple of weeks which I can't bloody wait for!.. although it is a V8 and will be a daily haha. But like you say, life is too short and I just want to enjoy it. Enjoy the car dude, look forward to seeing more of it

Adam, you ideally want a head unit with Bluetooth / App control for audio (if you want to keep it simple and single Din) also “mechless” (no cd drive) to keep the depth shallow and not have an unnecessary draw on power

If possible I’d like a screen for NAV and CarPlay it would be a challenge to make it fit though

@@thedownshiftchannel in a single Din size you’d have to go with a motorised screen which gets tedious. The pioneer app controlled range isn’t bad at all. Still allows audio and nav through the car’s stereo. Or potentially fabricate an mini iPad mount

I’ve seen some that have a screen separate to the unit so you can mount the unit anywhere then make a surround for the screen. Il have a look at the app based stuff though

My 1988 RR has had the same engine swap, from a 3.5 EFI V8 to a 200TDI. With 15mpg typical from the V8s, it makes the car much more usable as a daily! The old Rostyle wheels look amazing on it, and that colour is fantastic. Mine definitely slowed me down, getting out of a Focus ST225 into it, but I'm finding it more enjoyable to drive 99% of the time. Hope you continue to enjoy it, just don't over do the tuning 😅 You should get 300,000 miles out of the engine...

Awesome glad to hear you did the same thing! I really like the Rostyles they will be staying! I think I’m just going to do a mild increase with the boost pin and controller to maybe go to about 1.3 bar or something nothing too crazy.

@@thedownshiftchannel I've got the stock 3 spokes on at the moment, but I'm planning to buy a set of Rostyles and run summer tyres on those and winters on the 3 spokes. I'll definitely be watching for the tuning videos, much as I enjoy the more relaxed motorway cruise, I wouldn't mind a little more punch at times!

@@thedownshiftchannel I actually came to this video from the roadtrip one, I wanted to see more of it and hear the story! The policing paraphernalia is definitely a cool part of yours, I'd keep it too. I bought mine 250 miles away, and drove it home (baptism of fire!), and I've done a few other essential but long journeys since. They eat up the miles like nothing, the driving position and those comfy Teddy seats... so good. "A guy in a new Range Rover asked if I wanted to swap, but I didn't" cracked me up 😅
