How do the grips compare to the snap ones? Specifically the ACF style of grips. Recently held a pair of snap ons for the first time and i was amazed how good they felt in my hands. Love your channel btw.

Yeah it's one of those deals. When you don't have it and need it, well, you need it. I ran into that a few years ago working on a 5.9 Cummins. I ran to O'Reillys and bought a set of crow's foot wrenches and used one of them to get a fuel line off the VP44.

Hi Tony, I really like your vids. Can you recommend a good set of racheting wrenches?
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the price range you want to be in. For affordable ones I have been extremely happy with the reversible Dewalt ratcheting wrenches which surprised the heck out of me now im not sure about the non reversible ones though. I havent used those. Then I've had good experiences with Capri and tekton as well. As far as more expensive ones I've always like the design of the sk x frame.

I bought the 13” socket trays. Figured that my box is 26.5 wide they would fit perfectly side by side. Then they were over 14”. Should have paid more attention.
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 2 жыл бұрын
Was it the rails that were 13 and the trays larger?
@goat_life254
@goat_life254 2 жыл бұрын
@@TonyTheTechnician yes. I thought an advertised 13” tray would be that. I was wrong. I got the generals tool cart box. They will still fit just not how I wanted. Not how $120 setup should.
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 2 жыл бұрын
What if you cut off the handles on the tray? The lip at each end. Would that take enough off to make them fit
@goat_life254
@goat_life254 2 жыл бұрын
@@TonyTheTechnician I could but it would ruin the aesthetic and structure. And if I ever move on to a bigger box they would work fine. I’ll probably end up lining them up on one side leaving room for ratchets on the other. It just sucks when you plan carefully and still make mistakes. I used their deal, $3 off each one of you buy so many and I had $67 rewards. So it was only $50 out of pocket.

The pliers are interesting. The Knipex parrot heads are something I have been looking for like the second pair you showed. No offence but my daily use SO angle wrenches make that Tekton look a bit rough. I wouldn't mind trying these tools, though. Looks and manufacturer don't matter near as much as how they perform. I am not rich by any means but tend to migrate towards the high end stuff. I would rather buy the best tool first than work my way up. It can be made by anybody. No company does everything the best. Or even country.
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 2 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. Brands don't mean much to me as long as they make a well designed tool that can handle abuse. I have heard many that have had these for a couple years now say that they have been fantastic especially when you compare the price differences. So as long as these hold up long term I think they could be a big win

No I haven't had any of the tools rust and I've had alot of them for 6 years. But I also keep silica get packs in all of my drawers to prevent that plus a couple times a year I will wipe my tools with wd40 and that seems to help protect them alot
