I can't tell you how happy I am to see that you finished this job but the most important thing to me is the ramp your son built for you!! 1.) It's really good for his confidence. 2.) You will forever have those memories and memories worth more than anything in the world. 3.) GREAT JOB, SAM!!!

This has been a fun few months (for us). The workshop looks fantastic! I like the ceiling for sure. The heaters you have shown are bigger but similar to one we used at work. Worked very well at heating a spray booth that had three walls exposed to the outside; kept it nice and warm, no problem. For the wall with the windows; maybe a show & tell table for demos on new lasers and such. A dedicated place for the setup and filming of videos so as not to disrupt the rest of your business setup? Anyway, really appreciate the effort put forth by you and family and taking the time to bring us along for the ride. Thank you!

What a fine, handsome workshop building Sam. Your friends, family and Jimney were absolutely correct to keep pushing you on the finishing touches of your build. A work to be proud of. Good call on the ramp! Can’t wait to see what comes out of the workshop in the future.

Sam I rarely ever add comments but I wanted to say congratulations on completing your shop build. I enjoyed the attention to detail that you gave the entire build. The fact that you did not skimp on materials or time to do things correctly will pay dividends as the years go by. I also enjoyed the fact that you decided to keep the ramp your son built. That ramp will speak to you every time you step into your new shop. I observed your son helped through the entire build and that says volumes about him and you and your wife about being good parents. I do have some suggestions I would like to make. Before you move everything into the new space, take the time to paint the floor. This will help in shop cleanup and appearance and is much easier to do now while the shop is empty. Second, I did not see any base trim. This is certainly not necessary but will add to the appearance. A simple 1x4 would look great. Finally, I know you addressed it in the video but the ceiling still does not come up to the standard you set for the rest of the shop. I think you could use drywall compound to patch the gaps and before it completely hardens try running a stiff brush over the patch to put a grain in the compound to match the grain in the boards. Get a matching paint to cover your repairs and the ceiling will again match your eye for detail. I do not mean to offend or in any way detract from your deserved sense of accomplishment, just my own OCD kicking in.

Congradulations Sam!!!🎉🎉it looks awesome! Ok few ideas for you …re your ceiling… I think it looks great but those cracks that bug you why not do your calking trick and do grey touch up paint to match it??…. I love the look of your heaters makes look retro .Re your ramp the door….I would do the same thing! Again as always giving your kids trust and freedom to push their creative boundary’s is what I do with my girls! I’m sure it makes them very proud to see you love that ramp! You now need to make them their own work bench ! I’m sure they would be honored and you guys would be able to do projects together! This weekend was my milestone ! I have poured the footings for my14x30shop! Soon I will be able to move into my dream shop as well !really looking forward to see what you come up with bench wise as I will also be needing to make a few. Thanks for bringing us along for this build .

In the past I have mentioned a couple of things but I can see you have most of the things already thought out and don't listen to a whole lot of us. Here is one thing I will say that I would do to the shop NOW. Before you move anything in, lay down carpet. It will help sound proof the room and believe it or not, easier to keep clean. I have some in my shop and I would not have it any other way. I learned it from Stumpy Nub when he put it in his shop. A vacuum when needed is all you have to do. Helps with the temp in the shop also.

I was thinking.. what about putting some wood up between those gaps on the ceiling? Like a 1x1 or something smaller? Don't they call it ceiling trim? I think that would be incredible. White trim on the ceiling to contrast that beautiful gray color... Just food for thought! And I'm pretty sure it'd be easy to do!

Sam, I was going to suggest you put a thin molding over those ceiling joints. Like 1/4" thick x 1" wide or so. Painted the same color. That would fix the issue and give you a bit of an artistic feel.

I put RustOlium oil-based paint on my plywood floor. Wears like iron and looks great. It will take a couple of days to dry since it is oil-based. Two gallons would do your floor. A second coat is optional, it would make it better since the wood is pretty dry.

My only advice is put wheels on your equipment till you settle on their final location because you will move things around a lot at first.. And as for the laser engravers... I hang mine on the wall (the manageable size ones) and when I need them I have wall attached tables that open up(then pull away from the wall) and I put the laser engravers on them to do the job.. Other than that ....Don't Sweat the small stuff!!! :) Oh and I also added a ceiling hoist through my attic door to lift heavy stuff when needed... using a cheap Harbor freight hoist!

What an incredible workshop Sam! You'll have plenty room in there. Not sure if you've found your casters yet that you'll use for your mobile tables but I have bought some on Amazon that are great. Not only do they lock the wheel from turning but it locks the swivel in place too. And even with a bunch of weight on 4 wheels, they still move easily for me.

So the issue you had with the plywood delaminating is the exact same reason we always used osb on the floors and the roof. While the osb will still swell up when it fets wet, it will not delaminate like plywood does. Osb that has got wet and roofed over looks just fine when its done. Plywood on the other hand will have you tearing the shingle off to replace the roof sheeting
