I am into HO but this is by far the nicest looking set up I have ever seen in O scale. And it looks better than most HO set ups too. Very Good Job.

sean, did you actually get up on your layout to do all this decorating , placing people, bldgs, sidwalk action. my layout is 18 ft by 24 ft o gauge, but I cant reach very far in on a large section that is made from 3 sheets of 4 by 8 sheets of plywood. My trainboard, like yours, will hold my weight, but sitting or laying up there to set up scenes is exhausting. Im thinking to do scenes for bldgs, parking lots,parks on individual sheets like a 18 by 18 inch , do the work on my workbench, then place the finished piece on the layout. Hard to believe you did all that landscape/ decorating while laying on the board in areas we cant reach from the side or middle. few people mention alternative ways to populate these hard to reach areas. Placing roads and vehicles I get .... but...any suggestions ? gary

This is a fantastic layout. I have watched your videos over and over, to get ideas All I can say is WOW! Please tell me where you purchased the Griswold Family truckster, and the manufacturer of the movie theater, you described the changes you made to the ticket booth and to the barber pole on the woodland scenic's pool hall, but did not mention who made the theater. I would like to purchase one for my dads and my layout. We can't for the next update,

Outstanding job Sean! The planning and detail is amazing. Would you mind sharing where you purchased the hotel and the label? I am a GM of a hotel and now I must have this building on my layout. Thanks Sean!
@seanstraindepot7 жыл бұрын
The hotel is an MTH building. You can do a search on MTH's website and also search to see if any stores have them in stock. Search for 30-90471

Sean did the doctors insert kryptonite into your body? You came back and the progress is amazing. No, but seriously, glad your surgery went well. The layout is looking wonderful. I like how you mix new and contemporary aspects throughout it. Your addition of led's to various buildings has really paid off. I must ask what you are using to create your unfinished skyscraper? That it is a great idea and gives me a reason to use my tractors, etc. Keep up the good work!

Sean great job on your layout. I like the way you made the streets and side walks. Sean what type material did you use for the street and side walk? I have a Fastrack operating uncoupling track and when my Legacy Engines go over the track it loses the legacy single. Did you ever have this problem? The park setting with the flag looks nice. Awesome night view of your layout. Thanks for sharing your train layout. Greetings from New Jersey

I used woodland scenic track bed for the street material. Its flexible, has a texture to it and comes in different widths. The sidewalks are just woodland scenic 1/4 foam sheets painted concrete color and scored for the joints. Never had an issue with losing signal. You might want to tighten up the joints at both ends.
@nickltrains69527 жыл бұрын
Sean thanks for the info. Glad you did not have a issue losing a signal. Will check the joints at both ends. Nick

Hi Sean, looks like you added a Miller Engineering barber pole to that building? How did you remove the inoperative stock barber pole and insert the animated one, without damaging the building?

Love your layout! You did a great job and I’m sure it was a lot of work. What materials did you use for your roads, streets, parking lots and sidewalks. Thanks!
@seanstraindepot Жыл бұрын
It's actually Woodland Scenic's track bed (comes in all kinds of sizes and cuts super easy to any shape. Has a nice blacktop type of texture. You can easily dig out spots for potholes and all kinds of stuff.

Very nice and creative. What is the size of your O Gauge Layout ? When planning how can you pre determine where all the lighting will be For wiring in the beginning stage ? I take it you were constantly measuring for building placement ?
@seanstraindepot3 жыл бұрын
It was all done on the fly, creatively. Too much planning will kill your progress and you'll never get started, haha.

I’m building a layout too and using a lot of your techniques. How did you build your concrete street scene? What type of material did you use for the concrete walkway? What color for concrete? What product for the roads? TIA!
@seanstraindepot3 жыл бұрын
I used Woodland scenic products for those. They make a thin foam board I used for sidewalks. Just scored with a hobby knife for the line and painted with their concrete colored paint. The roads I used their track roadbed (it has a texture I liked) because so easy to cut any shape and thin.

wow, the layout is turning out awesome. sorry but I have to ask this, where did you get the national lampoon's vacation family trickster? when you were showing down main street, I see it parked in front of the Chinese restaurant, and laughed my butt off! that is great! anyways, thanx for posting another video, your layout is really cool.
@boblandess93495 жыл бұрын
where did YOU get those buildings ... the hobby shop ... the ESSO station ... etc. ??? ... have loved to watch your progress on the layout ...
@seanstraindepot5 жыл бұрын
The Hobby shop is from Menard's. The Esso station is a Lionel Building. I added the spinning sign. It is from Miller Engineering.

Will each track have its own power source ?
@seanstraindepot3 жыл бұрын
No need, its a Legacy system. You can run multiple trains on one track simultaneously with one power source.

OK, I have some questions... Did interior details already come with the kits? Are the lights adjustable so that instead of rapidly blinking on and off they burn steadily?
