1:06 Fasting benefits
Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between fasting during Ramadan, and it’s immune effects.
Ramadan lasts between 29 and 30 days. During Ramadan, you’re required to not eat or drink anything from just before sunrise to just after sunset. This is a dry fast, which means you’re not drinking any water.
What you eat before and after you fast is going to make or break your success. Having junk food or refined carbohydrates before and after your fast could inhibit some of the effects you could achieve from fasting. However, low-carb, keto-friendly foods may be much more beneficial to have during your meals. Ketones are even anti-microbial.
Benefits of fasting:
• Decreased cytokines
• Increased macrophages
• Increase the microbiome
• Increased resistance to stress
• Decrease in oxidative stress
• Increased autophagy and xenophagy

Ramadan was 1 time event in history when revelation of the Quran started , and its purpose was to tell people of that time do a process of stead-fasting , meaning absorbing and consuming the message of God, to achieve conscience of God and follow his message, it had nothing to do with abstaining from food or drink .

I became ill the other day but I’m not letting any illness from breaking my fast. May Allah bless me more for doing this and may Allah accept all of our fasting. Ramadan Mubarak ☪️

May you live longer to see yourself fast and reap benefits of it. Fasting purifies our soul and helps us to be humble and grounded. It helps to be grateful to the lord and brings a change in our attitude of seeing others. We value all that we have and feel contented and satisfied. We stop envying others, hating others. Charity becomes habit. Empathy , sensitivity towards others becomes our habits.

I hope your husband is a practicing Muslims, so he can teach you a lot this holy month of Ramadan. It has rules, benefits, but it’s also a time Muslims use to get close to their Creator. @Fatima Alzahra following a certain diet has the potential to make you more healthy, which doesn't collide with what the prophet says. in fact, most of the things we eat these days are full of so many harmful substances that setting them aside for a while would prove to be a good choice later on down the line. they could be as simple as regular toast. I don't think Dr. Berg is the type of person who uses his influence in a certain way to attract people to use his products, which in this case is "His" keto diet as you said.

@Fatima Alzahra Halal merely means permissible, not obligatory. Imagine God telling all people to eat only meat. Then poor people wouldn't be able to be Muslim. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.Sura Muhammad 4 says (Therefore, when you meet those who disbelieve [in battlefield], smite [their] necks [when they fall into captivity] till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly [lest they flee] either for generosity or ransom until the war lays down its burden. @Eraf Mohammodiy The Church has always taught that Jesus is God. The claim that the belief in Jesus’s divinity is an invention is a myth. You can read the letters of the early church fathers if you’d like. Two of the early church fathers, St. Ignatius and St. Polycarp mentioned in their letters that Jesus is God. They were bishops from the first century and it’s very possible that they knew John the Apostle, the one who’s mentioned in the book of Revelation. If Christianity is corrupted, then Jesus is a liar because He said “the gates of hell shall not prevail against my church” (Matthew 16:18-19).

As the full moon rises in the night sky, many people across the world observe it with awe and wonder. For centuries, people have been fascinated by the power and energy of the full moon, and some even believe that fasting during this time can have spiritual and physical benefits. Fasting during the full moon has been practiced by different cultures for centuries, with some viewing it as a way to cleanse the body and mind. It is said that the gravitational pull of the full moon has a significant impact on the tides of the oceans, and also on the fluids within the human body, including blood and lymphatic fluid. Fasting during the full moon is believed to help the body to eliminate toxins and unwanted substances more effectively. In some traditions, fasting during the full moon is done for three days, and this is believed to be the ideal duration for the practice. During this time, it is recommended to consume only water and herbal teas, and to avoid solid food. Some people may also choose to meditate or spend time in quiet contemplation during this time, to further enhance the benefits of the fast. Mountains are often considered to be places of spiritual significance, and fasting during the full moon while in the mountains can be particularly powerful. The natural beauty of the mountain landscape, combined with the energy of the full moon, can create a profound sense of connection to the universe and to one's own inner self. While fasting during the full moon is not for everyone, those who choose to embark on this practice may find that it offers a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. Whether done in the mountains or elsewhere, fasting during the full moon can be a way to honor the natural cycles of the universe and to deepen one's connection to the world around us.

I like seeing videos that show Muslims in a positive light. Hopefully it will continue. Happy Ramadan to those who celebrate. To those who don't please try and help someone who is fasting by themselves break their fast on Zoom.

Agreed, he inspired me so much that I even started my own channel about my keto and IF journey. Sinc eI live in the Middle East, I remember few years ago when I would say I'm breaking my fast people would be like but it's not Ramadan, as IF wasn't that popular here haha, and now everybody knows:)))

We Muslims not fasting from food and water only, we also fasting from bad habits like smoking, backbiting, talking shit, abusing others, fighting, annoying others, talking bad words .... etc we are prohibited during Ramadan doing any bad habits that cause harm for your body or to others .... we do that for the sake of Allah and obey him to grant us the eternal life in paradise . Ramadan is a month of self discipline physically and spiritually .

Love your videos, and the way you explain everything clearly. ❤ One thing though, fasting in Ramadan begins pre-dawn which is approx 1.5 hours before sunrise, and finishes at sunset.

I’m not Muslim, we are Christians, but I agree with fasting! The practice was spoken of in our Bible and it’s life giving and healing. I became so so close spiritually with the Lord when I did this practice! Even in pregnancy some fasting in my life has helped! Prayers for our world! You’re a great Doctor (you’re wife is precious too) and we truly appreciate all the information you give to so many! God bless you all and keep you safe and healthy!

Sasanian Soldier you misunderstood everything, you better shut up ok, and don't talk about our religion like that again : all those things you mentioned is back to The beginning of the Islamic call when there was war between muslins and the infidels who were criminals and abused Muslims and islam had to deal with them and treat them the same with principle of eye for the eye, the tooth for the tooth, and the body are darker "a life for a life " and if you read in Quran as you claims you will know that allah forbidden to kill children, women and the elderly I'm sure you don't know anything about us and our religion so keep you fuckin mouth close and leave us alone .. don't try to discredit us because you will lose anyway.

As a Muslim , I will be fasting during this month of Ramadan which starts tomorrow and it’ll be my first time to do it on a ketogenic eating plan so that I can see the full benefits of intermittent fasting combined with a keto diet. Thank you once again for your very informative videos and for continuing to make your content FREE and available for all of us to benefit and learn from. I will be sharing your video with my followers as I want to share how I’ll be doing Keto during Ramadan this year for the additional benefits, I hope I can stay off the carbs for a month 🙊Ramadan Mubarak xxx

Hey Zukreat, have watched your videos for years. Glad you said you will be doing keto during ramadan. I started my husband in a ketogenic diet but wasn't sure with Ramadan coming up. We live in Texas but my husband is from Morocco and he is Muslim. I was a little worried, put him on Keto because he is borderline diabetic, and now I wasn't sure if other Muslims would be sticking to their diets while fasting. I wasn't sure if it was successful. My husband likes to eat a lot of dates while fasting and other things from his country because it keeps you fuller longer. However, in USA, he must go to work every day it's not like in his country. Let me know if you have any suggestions as to what kind of meat is a good idea for Ramadan and Keto. I am at a loss and he has been doing this diet for 4 weeks, normally I try to feed him fish and rice or fish and potatoes during ramadan, and a type of soup right before the sun comes up to give him water and some food. Anything you suggest would help me. Thanks!!
