That's cool! But I Will add that you can achieve infinite sustain with 100% feedback on any delay, especially in helix it could be transformed into a big amount of variations of waveforms. And in New helix 3.0 there even New fx "infinite sustain" so you can go from sine to saw pretty easily, if combined with harmonizer/dist/synth it goes really far. Would like to mention all sounds in my rounds are generated live, with no pre-recorded sounds. Anyway good review! Big up!

Honestly, Brez...asking “where does that sound come from?”...I mean you know how Inkie constructs his songs. He makes a bunch of sounds that he doesn’t lay on the crowd all at once. I love the way he builds up the anticipation and drops pure genius on the crowd!

I think nme doing "begin by letting go" again in 2019 was fine. The one nme did in 2018 gbb, he actually stopped mid way cuz he made vital mistakes so doing it again in 2019 was kind of a redemption for himself. it's just cool seeing how he improved alot in one year and coming back from a rough 2018 gbb for him. But overall I agree with you nme still has a lot more to improve in that track.

Not surprised inkie stopped battling lmao, they literally didn't wanna vote for him because of a device they allowed to be used. Edit: also nme wasn't as flawless as some people would like to beleive, the second round was fairly meh imo. It's a tough decision to make and a weird battle to digest for sure because inkie definitely deserved votes

It's sad that Inkie prepared alot of new routines ( for every battle at gbb ) , he wanted to smash the stage like saro did two years before. He actually did that but didn't win or at least come second , because still with Rythmind headshot round idk how the judges would vote in the finals BCS that routine was powerful ( plus he had one device , but that shouldn't be judged ).

Problem is people like those heavy ass drops. Inkie doesn't fit that mold. He does some intricate shit but it's USUALLY not something you can jump/dance too. It sounds very interesting, clearly super technical and impressive, but people want to jump and dance. Most of his stuff isn't like that.

I love both NME and Inkie so this battle was hard to watch. I think one thing that people don’t realize is how difficult it is to comprehend and use the Line 6 Helix device that Inkie uses, props to him for stepping up looping for everyone, him and Dice will be the new meta for loopstation

For me, this can be solved with a 3-4 min deliveration for judges, like, ask fast and quickly were the sound provides (in case like the sound of second round inkie) to know if its abussive or not (or being in a perspective u can see easy the loopstation in all)

The thing is , Inkie could have done similar or even almost the same sounds by using delay instead of the note generator effect, and it would have been within the rules, but I don't think this would have changed the decision of the judges... Even with 505only Inkie would have stood out with quality.he just has the knowledge of sounddesign and production skills... And on top he executes and performs it so well , making it look so easy ...but you don't see the effort it took to prepare and create those tracks. So where do we or judges draw the line? Should loopers give a damn about Sounddesign / Mixing and not use eq anymore because it sounds too clean at the end🤷🏼♂️In a mean way :How bad has the quality to be in order to be accepted? Everybody has a different opinion on it ...

I don't agree bro. It took him 10sec to do that synth, and with perfect sound design. With the RC505 it would have taken him like 45 seconds and the sound quality would not have been the same. Also the amp on the Line 6 is nothing compared to the RC505 alone. Just compare his routines (for example World Championship) with and without the Line 6, the quality is not the same. It's impossible to recreate those sounds and rounds in 3min without his extra device, you know it man come on.

@@BreZBeatbox I should have explained it better I guess . I didn't wanna say that he could have done this with 505 only , that's impossible , specially in 3 minutes ...no way. I was speaking about his effect chain on his line 6, so instead of using this note generator , he could have replaced it with a delay effect ( #voicetriggered)and used some other effects afterwards , to make it sound similar to the note generator effect, and it would have been within the rules.

Loved the video! And it is a good conversation to have about where the limit with these second devices is and the mistake SBX made is not making the line clear enough of what is and isn't accepted. It's difficult to find the limit however when beatboxing is forever changing. I feel like both the loopstation and solo/tag team beatboxing has been adapting over the years where musicality is becoming a much more important factor in both rather than mainly being judged on skill/difficulty etc. You see this in beatboxers like Codfish winning which you probably wouldn't have seen7/8 years ago. Change is good but what needs to settled before a competition like this in the future is the boundaries of acceptance so there is no confusion like this between judges and viewers alike.

As much as I love NME and his music, and he one of my favorite loopers, that one went to Inkie. No doubt, If I was a judge, my vote would be for Inkie, like you said, he was better

I always find Inkie's style very experimental sounding. I personally don't care for it but it's always important to have vastly different styles because artists will always draw inspiration from one another. Brez is hip-hop meets electronic. NME is quite experimental but some of his stuff is like trap/trance. Saro is EDM. MB14 is layered beatbox. Rhythmind to me is like a mini-Saro. Can't really comment too much on the others.

Brez, big ups...I've watched a number of your performances in the various battle competitions and I can say (hopefully humorously!) you come across as a way nicer guy than your competing beatbox counter-part!! You have a fair amount of swagger, rude-boy edge and stage presence for someone so eloquently spoken, articulate; intelligent and decent haha, almost as though they're at odds....I suppose it's whatever it takes to win the battle right?! I gotta say, after following all these battles as a non bbxer for very long and especially this one I heard a Lot!, , I feel like nme kinda wanted this beat to be off somehow to make a difference to what we knew already. It is complicated to understand this opinion of the judges about the overuse of the second device, but having, who organized the event, allowed the use of the second device. Sensational your opinion about this battle and explained a little my frustration of not seeing the inkie winning this round

@BreZ Beatbox nice video mate I've watched that round probably hundreds of times and always loooved the inkie 2nd round. It takes me by surprise every time! Definate winner for me. IMO there should be a 'no keyboard' rule but any 2nd device you want to use including another looper 😜

Now I understand why NMe won. Like don't get me wrong, NME was sick as well, but Inkie was almost literally out of the world. I always thought Inkie won, now I know why the decision was made 5 out of 5, either way, hopefully both Inkie and NME come back next year. Hey Brez, good video, brother!!

Imo nme's second round was really good, I can't really see the mistake he made, maybe I just need to listen to a better version or something but I really liked it. Inkie did a great job in creating the dark vibe and atmosphere, they are both great loopers and I'd like to hear more from them.

I heard a version of Kanate in the background towards the outro of your video... A version I never heard before... Does that mean that your next release will be a version of Kanate? It’s like everyone except Rhythmind got robbed when battling against NME. In my opinion, BREZ you beat NME in quarters and Inkie beat NME in semi’s by a mile ... I feel like you and Inkie deserve more.

Nice review BreZ, i have something want to say here: After watch the reaction video and read the fact about the second device by Inkie, i'm confused. Is Inkie lost the ticket to go to the Final by a mistake? Are you kidding me? If they not made this mistake, i think the Final will be a legendary round. Rythmind is really awesome with only one device, Inkie is the special looper, i don't care about he use one or two device, because i know all the sound he recorded are all come from him, and no one want to cheating in this battle, no one want it. As you can see because of this mistake, now anyone who really a looper and beatboxer when reaction to Inkie, they all said this: "is he cheating?" :) Now thinking about he really cheat in this battle with NME, that not a mistake, how far this bad thing will go? That will become a real disappointed and a dirty in GBB history :) Anyway that all i think, sorry if i rude because my English not really good :( Love the loopstation and all the loopers
