I've completed my Red Komodo rig with the Leftfield and Kasbah system from Bright Tangerine! This kit-allows me to instantly swap between a shoulder mounted and handheld shooting. setup, I love it!

With this setup I really feel super fluid and comfortable using the Komodo now. I'm also just not a fan of gimbles (and I'm not super tall) so the camera tends to need to sit on my shoulder when filming other people.

I just came off 2 weeks of intensive shooting with this rig and absolutely love it! I feel very mobile and responsive with the cam now and can move between shoulder, underslung and handheld + tripod very quickly How you finding the Komodo?

@@EdProsser Very cool! I love the image. It’s nice to be shooting with a RED again. But it’s definitely a bit more deliberate of a process without many extra buttons or dials on the body & outrigger handle (besides the record button). So seeing some compact options is helpful!

@@RileyEndicott definitely! I have really grown to love the simplicity of the camera in the sense you are more intentional with stuff - you set it up and you get your shots - rather than having a million different settings and image processing options within the camera.

I think it was Amazon or ProAv it's by iFootage and it has a great quick release system. I'll be doing a more in depth look at my Komodo rig and how it's alevolvdd after 1 year of use in the next month or so!

I love it. Definitely not the cheapest but worth it in my opinion if you're going to be using it a lot and prefer shoulder mounted work - I'm not super tall so tends to be where the camera wants to sit when I shoot people.

Yes, the LeftField System is also available for the C70 with it's own unique features, but also works with Kasbah. Let us know if you have any questions

I just ordered the Bright Tangerine top handle. What NATO rail / size did you use here to mount it to the Outrigger handle?

Hey brother, I don’t think big cameras are your thing but would you ever rent a Varicam LT for a few days to do a video on it?

I'd love to shoot on one at some point, I think the Alexa Mini / mini LF is my limit when it comes to camera size and weight, so the Varicam LT might be okay, but not used one yet. In terms of renting one, if I can squirrel a bit of cash away from YT ad revenue then maybe I can put it towards that in the future! I'm not a weight lifter and got a bad back so I do tend to prefer smaller setups for mobile camera op work.

@@EdProsser I totally understand and want you to be in good health! We appreciate what you do for the community and would never want that to come at a cost you can’t get back. I basically see it in-between an arri Alexa mini and a Red stylistically. I’d like to buy one in the future but there’s not a lot of indie work out on it.

@@guidedvisionsmedia yeah - I've seen it used a lot in TV production. Yeah got a slipped disc in my back, but it's way better than it used to be - I noticed after using this BT kit that I had very little back pain at the end of the day of shooting - which is fantastic.
