What’s even better (And sadly seems to be overlooked by a lot of people because of how impactful ‘Ryuji’s First Fuck’ is) is that directly after Morgana starts talking down to him about not being so crass and you think ‘Oh no, they’re going to ruin this moment by having them fight again’ only for the writers to turn around, scream NOT TODAY, and have Morgana *team up and agree with Ryuji* which I almost loved more then the actual Fuck!

Like all Wild Cards, Ren barely starts without a personality of his own. He becomes who he is by interacting with others. The protagonist of Persona 4 even technically has a Shadow in his anime, which represents his fear of being alone. Just something to keep in mind.

43:51 People process near death experiences differently. For example: Ren's like "I thought I was done with cheating death after Akechi." Yusuke saw his mother for a split second. Futaba's swearing off getting a driver's license for the rest of her life. Makoto's regretting her life choices. Ann never thought she was going to see Shiho again. Ryuji is actually crying. Morgana got thrown out the window when they skidded to a stop and is still unconscious. And Haru stands tall in the center thinking "Perhaps I'll leave the Tokyo drifting to Tokyo."

Spoilers-ish?? Something GREAT about Sophie is that Persona is defined by the game as strength of ones own heart. So once she awakens she finds out what she believes with her heart, Pandora even asking if she can handle that strength and hold on to her hopes and beliefs of that

God absoLUTELY they would!! There's even a surprisingly good fic ("A God As Lost As You And Blind") I found where Ichinose and Sophie go sightseeing with an unexpectedly knowledgeable taxicab driver lmao I think that unique solidarity of "tried for divine apotheosis and got my ass kicked by a bunch of teens, 10/10 mental health improvement" is a VERY spicy mix neither of them would really find elsewhere 😅

Futaba to Ichinose: "I know what you are🌈♾" Ichinose: "what is that? All I know is that I'm strange." can't believe it took me watching 4 PLAYTHOUGHS OF THIS GAME, BUT why does ichinose's whole thing remind me of trauma + AUTISM!? the "tone of voice not matching what she says" the "knows a ton of little facts to keep a conversation going" the "i dont understand other/normal people, I need to find a way to learn" and hating that she cant teach Sophia on the thing even she doesn't get! and all of it being due to loneliness! she sounds super sketch throughout the story, sure, but some of it could be her TRYING to connect with them.

Disclaimer that I haven't actually played Strikers or watched a full playthrough, I just know bits and pieces of the story, but yeah based on what I've seen I totally agree with you. I've seen people say that she has ASPD but she doesn't seem to show the aggressive/impulsive behaviour that goes with that, and autistic traits can look similar to a lack of empathy/remorse/social awareness from the outside. That intro scene where she starts going off on a tangent about oxtail soup and science just screams autism to me. The whole "she doesn't react to things the way other people do" thing too, not outwardly showing emotions the same way other people do and being labelled as heartless because she didn't cry when her parents died. A lot of people associate autism with big emotional meltdowns but emotional processing can also be very internal and muted. Alexithymia is common in autistic people and struggling to recognise and understand her own emotions could have led her to feel like she's 'heartless'.

Ichinose is honestly one of my favorite characters, and that is in large part because I read her as autistic. Even the fact that she always seems super cheerful even when inappropriate because she doesn't really get it screams of masking (which is a common thing that many people with autism do). Then the way that Sophia and Ichinose connect with this unusual but very wholesome and heartwarming mother/daughter connection is really good for both of their character arcs. So, yeah, as a writer, game enjoyer, and autistic person, I really love Ichinose's character, and I'm always happy to see others appreciate her too!

Going into this game, I expected it would be a decent spin off with the characters I love. But this game went beyond my expectations. The story was way better than I thought it would be. Zenkichi, Sophia and Ichinose are all amazing characters. The gameplay was more fun than i thought. Overall this game was a really fun time that may have made me cry at multiple occasions

49: 23 Funny you should mention that, because in Persona 5 X, there's actually a new persona user who's a middle-aged woman in the real world, but looks like a teenager in the Metaverse. Really wish that game was on consoles, because it looks fire.

Also, Akechi's role in the original P5 (the one this is based on, which is why there's no Kasumi) was much, much more limited. His confidant was automatic and he never reappeared after the scene in the ship.

Making it too 60 hours on the first time playthrough At least Leigh you get a smile from us people who comment NICE job on the time lmao i think when i first finished this game ( mind you it was my first persona game on switch i have played FES before aka persona 3 ) but i think my clear time was around 100/200 hours cause i was doing 100% and a lot of NG+ RUNS due to loving the game so much i even tried out persona 5 royal cause of this game and im so glad i did i can understand why people love these guys.

Yes! I've been waiting for you to play this. I personally haven't played OG Persona or Royal since it wasn't on Switch, so this one was my first one since it came right after Joker got in Smash. Who would have thought a Dynasty Warriors spin-off would be such an interesting addition to the Persona 5 series? They really went pretty hard with this one. Seeing Leigh's vindication after Ichinose's true colors are reveal was great to see. Poor Phantom Thieves just aren't genre savvy.

I will be completely honest, i'm must be a complete dufus. Ikutsuki, Adachi, Akechi and Ichinose. I NEVER SUSPECTED THEM AT NO POINT. EVER, i kinda thought that Adachi oversharing info was weird at first but instantly thought he was just a plot device. The reveals totally got me, every single time

15:01 I can understand what your saying, the persona games are mainly based off the concept theories from Carl Jung- his theory & opinions on people’s Personas, Egos & Shadows Joker and other protagonists show their true colors towards certain characters in the series, it’s like what you said from Joker being himself around Akechi but shows his reputation & expectations for others The Persona is the appearance to Society & Masses The Ego is the appearance to Close ones The Shadow is the true appearance within that person

I'm not sure if this was ever said to you. But this takes place after Persona 5, not royal. So any Royal specific plot isn't mentioned at all. That's why morgana reverted to saying he isn't a cat.

Its funny hearing you freak out about the guitars and music because like, that's what Warriors games are - they take things you like or know, and say "ALRIGHT, ELECTRIC GUITARS AND THE TEMPO CRANKED UP" and you do air combos and LU BU HAS SLAIN DONG ZHOU THE TRAITOR, THE HAN WILL LIVE AGAIN ahem I mean you get to just have fun with characters again. P5 Strikers might be the closest thing to the original idea of P5 Vanilla. A protagonist traveling the world on a journey to discover themselves. And I'd say Gramps, Sophia and Ichinose did find their true selves. Fun fact: The voice of Siri is the voice behind EMMA. Foreshadowing?
