My wife and I decided to have children in 2002 after long discussions about the state of the world. We agreed to sacrifice her income so that we wouldn't need I rely on daycare or sitters. Today we are blessed have a healthy 18 year old daughter just about to start at a university. After she was born, we had several failed pregnancies, one major miscarriage and didn't end up having anymore children. I still get broke up thinking about what my wife went through and over the loss of what was a child. I am really sorry for your loss Ken, God bless.

Hi Ken, I had to stop what I was doing to comment. Please don't apologize for speaking of your loss. It made me cry as we too have had much loss in our family, many blessings to you and your family. I have to tell you that this 66 yr old crone is obsessed with watching you build garages. I feel that it is an Art, and it makes me sad to think that people don't want to do these jobs anymore. My husband watches with me and laments that he does not have that skill. He is embarrassed that he had basically zero math and struggles with measurements. But he's such a hard worker and no matter what, he persists in his projects. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and I hope that these videos inspire young men and women to consider this "Art". Also, thank you so much for keeping us updated on cost of materials, very helpful. 🙏🏽👍🏽

For the younger folks, this gentleman is the America I used to know as a young man. Without saying a word the works of Jesus come pouring out of the loudest communication possible. Your actions, honor and humility tell the greatest story ever lived. You sir will no doubt hear loudly, “welcome home my faithful servant!” Started watching because like most I was thinking how much, how hard etc etc and like most, I kept clicking because I picked up on that spark! Imagine if we as a world turn our eyes to Jesus instead of this flash of time. What a world we could have, the devil is real and God is real….pick a team because we are in the fourth quarter friends! In case you want to skip to the score, GOD WINS! God bless you sir, thank you for being you. I’m 50 and I cried my eyes out and then I thanked Jesus for you for reminding us all that the foundation we build on actually matters the most!

They’re in heaven and looking forward to meeting them. We did adopt a baby from China, she’s now 16, and as American as apple pie. Very strong willed but loving. Part 2 I’m a Union Glazier for 25 years in New Jersey and New York, I’ve helped build some iconic structures like 7 WTC and installed all the handrail glass on the Vessel in Hudson yards. No apologies necessary Ken. I am truly impressed at age 68 how active you are, but if you keep active, you stay young.. lol... Love your channel. Born and raised in Northern NY, about as Northeast as you can be in NY. Carpentry was going to be my career until a table saw accident at 16 years old nearly cost me my fingers.. still have them.. and spooked me for a while. At 55 years old now, I'm also a computer programmer and been doing that for nearly 30 years. Still building stuff and glad I can do it myself, and still love it. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren, and sadly one in heaven due to birth complications with an umbilical cord entangled around his neck.

How can it ever not bother you to lose a child let alone two. It's hard because it's personal and because you loved them both. You are a good man! When my mom was dying of congestive heart failure she decided she was done with treatments. I was amazed at how at peace she was with her decision. She passed on Christmas morning about three months later. It was her Christmas present!

When I decided to spend 17 minutes watching you NOT building a garage, I wondered if I was wasting my time but gracious alive, I am so glad I did. I was a Ken fan before and I’m really a Ken fanatic now. There are only a handful of KZfaq people that I’ve found with the sincerity which you convey through the camera. I had always noticed your mannerisms and the way you spoke and carried yourself. It was obvious that you were a man of faith and you have been preaching the Gospel in every video I’ve watched without ever “using preaching words.” I too am a man of faith and my heart breaks for the things you and your wife have been through but rejoice with you in our Hope. I loved the part about you being ready to pass on to our eternal home and I’m quite sure that your family would miss you. Lol. Thank you for the time and effort you take to share your life with us. I’d love to meet you in person some day and maybe chat for a while on a rainy day, helping you prefab a wall or two inside your shop. Blessings dear sir from rural South Carolina.

Bless you, sir. You are a class act, and I'm more than sure your family must be incredibly proud of you. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing story! And on a selfish note, if you ever are able to expand your working radius a bit (I'm south of Killington), someday, hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I'd really love to have one of your gambrel-roofed garages on my property. I already have a two-car garage attached to my house, but I'd love a second, separate building to use for a recording/rehearsal studio and woodworking shop. It might still be a couple of years away, but I'm planning ahead. Cheers!

Well I knew from the title and Ken's demeanour this was going to be a heart felt story. It is utterly heart wrenching to loose a child and have it happen to such a vibrant young lady just starting on her life path. It is not really surprising that he finds this difficult even after 19 years as he puts it. My father, long long passed on, lost his mother when he was quite young and every year on that date he was heart broken and brought to tears even into his late 70s. It is extremely difficult to loose a loved one at any age and time does not really heal completely. I couldn't watch the rest it was so difficult to see someone in such pain. As other's have expressed quite accurately, Ken clearly is a stand up guy who is a tremendous role model. His garages are great and seems to be a great teacher but his persona is kind of larger than life. In a sea of terrible role models who scream about themselves and what they have done it is beyond refreshing to experience such a soul as Ken even if it's just on YT.
