The process can be tedious at times, but it's worth while 100% of the time, because you know you're getting the best possible value on the current market. This is important for those who are buying on a budget, or want to get more for less for their sports card collection/investment.

You have to like the player , just don’t buy a guy because his value is say 30 percent lower then market value .. this isn’t the stock market . People lose interest in non established players very quickly . Look at judge or Stanton . I wouldn’t buy there card no matter how cheap it is .

This video is right up my alley. I’ve been scooping up raw cards with the thought that after PSA opens back up or in a few years start submitting again. I personally hate slabbing players that aren’t established. I’m a collector so no rush to slab and sell lol. People need to remember and calculate how much a card costs to slab and the time it takes to get them returned.

FACTS haha people are crazy but I get it, a lot of the time that is their “I will only sell at this price or I’m fine holding price”

@@RRsports_ Exactly what I was thinking. I mean, I know when I'm overpricing my cards, but I'm doing it for that very reason (I'll only sell this if I get this price, etc.) I'm not a fan of hating on people for any reason, let alone how they choose to price their own cards. :) #CollectWithRespect

Love the video, love the channel. I'm getting into baseball cards again, last time was when I was a small boy circa 1989. I used to get Donruss wax packs for 50 cents at the gas station. Wish I still had them, I had piles of Griffey rookie cards.

I only deal with raw cards and I have customers who are graders. Probably missing out on a lot of money, but for me buying and selling graded cards takes a lot of the fun out for me. Not sure if it's the larger price point, but when I did deal in graded, business was a lot slower. Regardless we have a nearly identical process. Another thing I do is I will sort by ending soonest at least a few times a day on a list of players to see what's ending soon. I'm not scared to overpay when I'm very confident about it's potential and it's a fairly unique not one you see everyday type card. Thanks Ryan, what you do is awesome man. Saving these guys from making costly mistakes. Unsung hobby heroes. I really know guys that one bad decision cost them everything in the hobby and they never recovered so this is much needed rn.

Thank you Van! Super nice of you to say all of that 💙 I love me some raw cards too! I personally have always had the goal to use my collection to make a huge Investment long term whether it’s retirement, or paying off a house/ buying a car! So getting graded stuff holds the best long term value so that’s why I tend to lean that way these days. I still buys me sell raw a lot! just takes a lot more effort because so many buyers and sellers complain and hide flaws

@@RRsports_ you said it. There are dangers for sure. While some say a lot more trouble, I say a lot more fun/action/interaction. Like, that is what I Love about the hobby. I have met so many incredible people through collecting. I'm not a people person.......unless they know sportscards, then it's like I'm in the basement with my best friends trading and admiring each others collections. It takes me away from the unreal reality of life right now. Your channel has been a big part in that and I thank you my friend.

With so many different platforms for buying cards these days it's important to shop around before you pull the trigger. Especially on Ebay. The taxes and shipping add up quickly. Recently picked a Vlad Jr Topps Update US#1 PSA 10 on Starstock for $75 while over on Ebay people are paying $90-$100 plus tax and shipping. But on the flip side I snagged a Kyler Murray Donruss Rated Rookie PSA 10 on Ebay for $172 after fees and shipping and they're selling on Starstock for $195. Gotta do your homework. But I agree with your strategy. At least 4-5 times per day I simply type in PSA 10 or just PSA and sort by ending soonest. Most days it amounts to nothing but if you're hunting for deals you gotta be willing to grind sometimes.

Agree brotha! You HAVE to exercise all of your options before you pull the trigger. More times than not, you’ll find a cheaper version of the same card somewhere. Just gotta make sure! And I agree, Some times the process pays off, sometimes nothing

If something interests me I put it in my watch list. People will be surprised how many times sellers give me a best offer that is 50-75% off the price listed. Some sellers just want to clear out stuff.

I like that process. Another I like to do is search PSA, SGC, or PSA really early in the morning or late at night and hit ending soonest. Crazy how cheap I have gotten some slabs doing that just because some sellers don’t end their auctions at peak times and there might not be a lot of eyes on them at 4 am

I’m reduntandt , I go with guys that are either established players like Harper ( he’s 28) or possible future hall of famers .. Halladay sabathia rollins posey . ..9.5 Beckett’s witch are basically 10s .. I’m still buying tuckers Alvarez and bohms , way to early to panic . The minor leaguers like Luciano , Witt , Franco , Alvarez , kelenic are out ragous prices .

Good video yeah just look up a player keep looking and looking bring up one of the cards then go down that page sometimes there is something there that was not before but just keep looking it can take a while but sometimes you can find a good deal.

I focus on certain players and mostly vintage. But if I’m going to buy more modern cards I only buy cards with more limited print runs. Doesn’t make sense to buy a card that has several 1000s of psa 10s. Those won’t hold value over the long haul.

I know you don’t do Football that much, but check out Peyton Manning stuff.. might be the most undervalued card on the market as compared to other players of his caliber

Yeah good call. When I got back into collecting I thought "I'm only gonna collect PSA graded cards" ... and anything I buy raw I'm gonna have graded... well, now things have changed! :) I'd love @Rydog54 's opinions / take / data on ungraded cards and strategies there.

I explained why, but I would if it was over priced. I lost an Ohtani SP last month because I offered $10 less on a $165 card. That card is now $350

Undervalued slabs and raw cards are gone. you may find in garage sales or late night ebay shopping or antique shops. All the best players like laviska hurbert burrow ja zion luka natalie bruce trout low numbered cards are gone forever. you may find some but you have keep eyes open all th etime.

A couple years back after sleeping on mahomes and Lamar Jackson I got on eBay and found a PSA 8 mahomes silver prizm. I got it for 50$ never pulled the trigger on Jackson tho

I rip packs and keep what i want. I send the cards i don't want to starstock then I buy slabs there then send them home. Dirt to dollars. This makes it fun and feeds my pack addiction 🙃

@@PaulHickey Yeah I turned in a bunch of stuff recently and bought 3 slabs and sent them home and also got some blaster boxes too. They just added a 25 cent per card fee so its not as great but I just turn my old stuff I dont want into slabs and packs to rip!

1. The seller had best offer, and you didn't make an offer. 2. You could search ebay sold listings specifically for this card and would have found the comps price, and if the price is going up or down over time. 3. This card is selling for $10 now. 4. If a player is struggling, don't buy his cards no matter how good a deal they are.

@@RRsports_ the market always is cyclical either way Torres is not a good player. Can he ever have a couple of good seasons? Sure but he was never good then or now. Similar to Garry Sanchez. Yankee rookies especially will have a small run and will get overhyped. Boone is one of the worst coaches that every coached any sport so he doesn’t know how to bring players up, coach them or make them better.

Taxes in EBay for sellers are only on profits, if you are a casual that doesn’t depend eBay to make a living selling there is fine, bottom line if you break even or lose a little on your sales you don’t owe any tax
