This is a really nice video! Well done! This was my first look at your videos, but when I saw all that rust and the word "Miami", I immediately thought "salt water!" Working on an RC truck is half the fun of the hobby. And it is so satisfying when it all goes back together... and works! My girlfriend tolerates my hobby. And she will even run trucks with me. But she does not have your initiative...

Thank you so much for your comment !! Yes there was saltwater involved 🙈😅 I agree with you it’s very rewarding when you put it back together and everything works ! My hubby always had RC cars and I used to play with his , but having my own got me more into the hobby!

Good video, and glad you found the problem so fast! Mine broke the other week, servo was easy to locate but then everything went crazy... Finally got everything as I want it with new servo and all. Cheers, take care!

Yup needed the work for sure.. :) Something I do at least twice a year. take my axles apart and Re-grease. hopefully you did the other axle at the same time. Because it is probably not far from the same way. ;) Nice work

That’s smart ! I’ll definitely start to do it more frequently. I still have to do the other axle, don’t have the parts yet. Thank you!!! 🙏🏻

I have never seen one that bad, that wasn't ran through water and put away wet. I don't know about the TRX, but some like Axial come lubed, while FMS come dry as a bone. You should always grease a new one, and clean a lube one that's gone through water. Mine are run on dry terrain so I don't worry about it much. Once a year detailed cleaning is good enough for those.

How long have you been into the hobby ? Are you just into Crawlers ?
@gini.andherhobbies9 ай бұрын
Thank you for the questions !! I’m definitely a newbie , I got my own truck 6 months ago and that’s when I got really into the hobby ! Hubby always owned RC Cars we had the Traxxas Slash, a Drift RC and Crawlers but getting my own really got me hooked :D We sold all our stuff moving around the globe, so for now we only own crawlers but I’d love to try it all at this point!

Should be putting grease in the bearings, not shock fluid.

Thanks for the advice ! Next time I’ll do that instead 👍🏼🙏🏻

Soak it all down with wd40 after a wet run. I use a high quality paraffin based oil on all bearings and drive shafts. Marine grease in diffs and portals.

I wrapped all my axle seems with it on my scx10, once it hardened it was like a skid plate! You and the hubby might find it to be a great addition to the toolbox!
