One other thing worth thinking about here is that it looks like we will be playing in Europa League next season via the fair play league qualification spot. Our new manager is going to have his squad stretched very far if he doesn't bring in a number of new faces. Makes a relegation battle even more likely.

Spencer FC I love west ham and will always support them and tbh getting rid of sam was the best desicion possible. Firstly from 4th in the league to 12th is unacceptable. Then we lose 4-0 to west brom in fa cup quarter final and the way the draw went it was our best chance of getting to wembely so that pissed me off. Bring in players that will help us move up the league and a manager that knows how to win games the hard way....

I think that mark warburton the ex-Brentford manager would be a great choice, to take a team newly promoted from league one to be challenging for the play offs on a shoestring budget is nothing short of amazing and I really think he deserves his big chance at a club like West Ham

Some options- David Moyes- As you mentioned, only if he is an option would be a good pick. Experienced in the Premier League, had a great 10 year spell at Everton. Michael Laudrup- Not a great manager, will probably sign you Michu and leave after a season. Sean Dyche- This is who I would go for if he would leave Burnley, fantastic and down to earth manager, well respected and done well to promote Burnley, who have a very poor squad.
@sheepswagger7671
@sheepswagger7671 9 жыл бұрын
Laudrup is a good manager, and didn't "leave after a season"- he was pretty much thrown out by the chairman. And I doubt many West Ham fans would complain about signing Michu.
@TheGuruFifaHD
@TheGuruFifaHD 9 жыл бұрын
Sheep Swagger Michu has had an ankle injury, Rafa Benitez has tried to send him back to Swansea 3 times this season, Michael Laudrup left because he went on holiday in the week of an important game, never really cared about the club only really about where he would go after he left.

Burnley squad isn't that bar, it just lacks depth in midfield positions. There have been few games this season in which any club can say that they won with ease. The team is, in my opinion, very much underrated. Players like Trippier and Ings are linked with moves to big clubs, Heaton with an England call-up, Shackell with one of the highest clearance rates in the BPL, Boyd running defences into the ground, e.t.c.. Dyche did a great job don't get me wrong, but don't underestimate the squad, it's been getting goals, not conceding them that's been the problem.

In all honestly i can see West Ham getting relegated. West Ham need to realise it takes time and good buys to move up to the Europa League places. Considering how important money is, you should be spending your money on players and not on a fancy new stadium. Also if you want attacking football stay away from David Moyes.

sami mokdad its bad but how can you be confident that the new manager will keep you up, West Ham comfortably missed the drop, if anything you should have let Big Sam keep you up for one more year and then get a new manager. Some managers will be able to hit the ground running others won't and it is very difficult to find the right manager. Its a risk letting him go and i think your board has dropped themselves in a relegation battle.

I think Moyes would be a fantastic appointment, look what he done at Everton he took them from relegation to top 6 and even one season top 4 on basically no money. Yes he had a mare at United but at West Ham he wouldn't get you sacked and imo could take you to the next level of top 6-8 finishes consistently while the money is coming in to club before maybe brining in another manager who can then take West Ham on even further if Moyes can't. I feel so sorry for Moyes because his reputation has been crushed since United and people forget what a fantastic job he done at Everton and what a great manager he is.

Manutd1357 As a Barca fan, I saw just how good a manager he was. In January his tactics allowed Sociedad to beat Barca, and threw the entire club into a panic, with Enrique rumoured to be sacked. Sociedad played another strong match at the Camp Nou, again thanks to his tactics. Unfortunately for West Ham, i seriously doubt he would leave as he's trying to build something at Sociedad and perhaps aim for Europa.

Dylanirwin Irwin The championship goes through 3 phases. 2 group phases and 1 knock-out phase. The best teams in a group get to go up a phase every time and then the winner of the knockout phase is champion. Coritiba narrowly managed to get through every group and then win the knockout phase. Therefore they're champions yet they don't have a lot of points

I am a West Ham fan and I am extremely grateful for what Sam has done for West Ham and he will be remembered as one of our best managers. However, if the board really do want to get us playing attractive football, now is the perfect time for a new, fresh manager to prove himself, as we are now established in the league and will have the new stadium to push for Europe. Under big Sam that would never happen because he is too negative, he gets results, but as a fan you want more than that, you want to be entertained. Therefore I am happy and sad that he has left, but overall I think it was the right decision.

NathlaTheDragonborn Ask any Everton fan about the the negative football Moyes played just like Sam but it worked. You can only play certain football with the players you have. West Ham don't have the players to play open an attacking football and probably won't for a good few years. West Ham fans and Newcastle think they deserve better than they get, Why? cos you had glory days decades ago. Stop leaving in the past, you won't do better than what Sam did for you.

I'm not a Westham fan, and i don't really care about them too much. But Sam Allardyce deserves to stay.. I understand how he flopped during the second half of the season, but i believe that, with all the potential Westham's new stadium will bring, that Allardyce would be the right man for the job.. I think, with a couple more, decent signings at the end of this season, we could have seen Westham being a contender for europe.. I know how daft it sounds and i understand how many people will say "You don't know anything about football grr" but, genuinely believe Allardyce is a quality manager and deserved more of a chance..

I agree with David Moyes to West Ham. He wasn't suited to a big team like United but West Ham is similar to Everton so he's gonna be more comfortable with that role. I think that his downfall is his signings. He needs to know what players are best for the team. He can be a bit of mare but you can be prepared to take the risk.

Hi spencer, I have to say i agree with your comments 98%... The two things I disagree on is 1. David Moyes, I feel that he isn't the type of manager west ham need, I feel his coaching ability is rather lacklustre and he depends on the coaching staff at a hand. 2. Jurgen Klopp is the right man for west ham. During his tenure at Dortmund he used the club academy to bring out some world class players and giving them a chance, who says that if klopp was manager we could see the next Marco Reus in Elliot Lee, Mats Hummels in Reece Oxford and gotze in Josh callum? Klopp gives the guys a chance and he also coaches them to make them better. He also has screwed tactics in the transfer market by bringing in players such as Lewondowski from Poland, Aubameyang from France and Immobile from Italy. The west ham way is a out winning trophies using west ham blood. The best chance we had as a team to be successful was the team we had Joe Cole, Frank lampard, Jermaine Defoe, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and build the team around that, these are players money can't buy but yet they were sold. We could of seriously had a title challenge if those players had stayed. Bonds, brooking, Moore, Peters, Hurst, Cottee, Potts, all west ham academy. These aren't average players, these won pfa trophies, international caps, world cups, domestic trophies... Winning with West Ham boys is the west ham way. I agree the west ham way is a thing of the past, because we haven't won anything since 1980. I haven't seen my club, a club I love, lift a proper piece of silverware. playoff finals, intertoto, Bobby Moore cup are not proper trophies, I find it quite patronizing that you can win a throphy because you come third in a league and had to play 3 extra games for it. I think the biggest investment the club can make is having a world class coach who wants a project to leave a legacy. Leaving a legacy is ambition to succeed, we need an Arsene Wenger type coach who gets involved In every area of the club.

Grega Lužar Yeh, that's actually a pretty good shout, I do think that we have got some decent youngsters coming in who play for the England U-21, U-17's etc; such as Reece Burke and Reece Oxford who could become pretty big in the days to come so maybe Villas-Boas might be able to handle them well.

Grega Lužar Well, he has both PL and european cup experience, he handles youngsters well and I think with him risk of relegation wouldn't be a concern. He also won the russian league with Zenit, so that's a good sign. But I wonder if he even wants to manage a PL club after he failed with chelsea and Spurs. And if West Ham and their fans want to see attacking football he might be disappointing for them. I still like him, but a lot of Spurs fans only remeber him for one reason: boring, boring football after we sold Bale.

I am a real supportive west ham supporter and i am actually really pleased that West Ham have decided to get rid of Big Sam because i believe that it was time we got a new manager as he has only won us 2 games in our last 13 which is an absolutely appalling fact and I don't think that he is getting the full potentially out of every single player, especially the likes of Zarate who is a great talent who just needed to get a bit more play time and it really didn't work when we loaned him out to QPR as he only made 4 appearances which probably were last minute off the bench jobs. Also we need a more creative manager that knows how to make the most out of the money they have got instead of buying strikers season after season after season and that plays a better style of football as all Big Sam wanted to do at West Ham is play long balls to Andy Carroll who has been out injured most of the season. If you agree with my opinion please like this comment as i would like Spencer to see my point of view

Personally I don't think that sacking Sam was the best move for West Ham, because as you said West Ham's form was unbelievable before Christmas and that shouldn't be forgotten, he's made excellent signing in Song and Kouyate and Enner Valencia and made a team that with form can push high up the table. I may be slightly biased myself (as a Villa fan) but as a safe appointment I think Martin O'Neill would be fantastic, he was one of the best managers Villa have had in recent years finishing 6 three consecutive season with a team very similar to West Ham's now, a league place we've found it very difficult to find again.

I am so happy he's gone. Terrible man-manager and makes fucking horrific transfers! e.g. he didn't want Sakho, he loaned out Zarate to QPR because he didn't like him, believing Carlton Cole is good enough to be our 2nd striker etc. My fav replacements: 1 - Benitez 2 - Moyes 3 - Poyet 4 - Bilic

Overall, I feel that Big Sam leaving was the right call. As Spencer mentioned, he was given his targets in the first few seasons (getting us straight back to the Premier League the first season, and keeping us up the season after) but this season was his chance to show that he could help West Ham compete for at least a top 10 finish, where I believe we should at least be. He was quoted as saying "I have been told by the board they want at least a top 10 finish" and as he didn't achieve that, along with the dismal run of results that means we only won 3 games in 2015 I feel that the decison to not renew his contract was the right one. As for replacements, I feel that Villas-Boas would be a good shout after winning the Russian League with Zenit and possibly still having something to prove in the Premier League after his time at both Chelsea and Spurs, and possibly Moyes as he is known for keeping clubs in a good mid table position at the very least, and I feel that he will want to return to the Premier League and prove people wrong after building some confidence out in Spain with Sociedad.

As a season ticket holder in the Bobby Moore lower i believe that the decision to not offer Big Sam more time at the club is correct. If you look at his previous managerial jobs at, for example: Bolton and Newcastle he has left the clubs in dire need of a full squad renewal. Sam has a certain style of playing football (direct) the squad at the moment does not have the ability to play this way due to Andy Carroll only averaging a rubbish 13 games per season throughout his career.The next manager to come in will be in a better position than Sam was when he came to West Ham due to the squad having some depth and pace upfront, as we say goodbye to Carlton Cole a club legend will have to bring more rotational players in to fill these places. Nolan is a prolific scorer of important goals, he is also coming to the end of his career. Rafa Benitez is not the right man for the job he has only ever managed teams that challenge for their leagues title; he is not the right man for the job. I personally feel Moyes is the best option for the clubs future in the premier league. I want Moyes to come to the club but i doubt that Moyes will (a) want to return to the prem and (b) join a team such as West Ham who's aspirations are to acquire a top half of the table finish.

As a Brentford fan, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mark Warburton appointed. He's attacking, likes to play it along the carpet and his contract isn't being renewed. What he did at Brentford was pretty astonishing, we were in a good position with a decent squad, which he improved to get us up and then with the financial backing form Benham he blew it away finishing 5th. He makes clever signings such as Andre Gray from Luton scoring 18 goals this season and the likes of Odubajo from Orient whose done very well and has been called up for England U21.

As always with my US bias... here are my recommendations. Sigi Schmid and Bruce Arena. Two of the winningest coaches that the US has ever produced. Sigi alone has won a championship with two different teams/almost three :P, and last year nearly got the first ever Treble with Seattle. Throw the English Football world a curve-ball and bring in a dark horse candidate like Sigi or Bruce. They'll get the job done. :)

Although Big Sam did a good job, I was sick of Nolan behind Carroll, I was actually glad that Carroll was injured for the first part of the season and I actually thought that it would be a good thing, which it was, and after Christmas, as you said we were just shocking, we should have stayed with two up top, with Carroll as a reserve striker when he came back from injury, so in conclusion, i'm quite glad that we have gotten rid of Sam. I would love to see someone like Moyes come in, I don't care about style, I just want to be consistant.

I'm not a West Ham fan but I'll add my two cents to the discussion. Personally, I think West Ham should get Moyes for a few years before trying to lure in a more attacking minded manager. While Moyes won't play the attractive football most fans crave, he's a safe manager and, like you said in the video, that's the most important thing West Ham needs while transitioning into the new stadium. After quickly looking at Moyes' stats at Everton, between 2006 and 2013, he never dropped below 8th place in the league. That sort of stability is something West Ham could greatly benefit from.

if you look at the story of borussia dortmund before klopp, you can relate to west ham now, mid table finish, not a stella squad but what he did over the years really change the way people thought about dortmund, they always had one or two good players at the clubs but they also didnt go crazy with the purchases in the transfer window. in all honest i think jurgen klopp is the man for west ham, as he isn't know for managing dortmund by for the way he change how dortmund play from then till now, and i also know that the bundesliga isnt the prem but i think he can still do the same thing to west ham that he was able to do to dortmund many years ago.

They way I see it spen, is that if you look at the clubs big Sam has managed and then look how the club has ended up after a couple of seasons the change is astonishing, he was at Bolton until 07 who then got relegated in 2012,he was at Newcastle in 08 who then got relegated in 09 and finally he was at Blackburn until 2010 who then also went down in 2012, so in my opinion it's a huge gamble like you said and I wouldn't be surprised to see the club slip down the table in the next few seasons!
