Thank you for making this video! In 2022 my TeePublic income was twice my Redbubble income, if not more. With the new tiers, my Redbubble sales increased (Redbubble Premium) and my TeePublic sales have dropped significantly (Apprentice).

Yes I can... I mainly use Amazon ads for Amazon... I use social media for the other POD sites but I don't use it a lot.... I mainly rely on organic traffic.

I learnt it because redbubble too strict especially for anime fan art or fan art style, even with our own drawing style, fan art will highly possibly being taken down and the store suspended in redbubble, but teepublic is like freedom for any artist and beginner artist to start, VERY hopefully they wont change the rules so far so artist are enjoying upload and sell their fanart works there and get money by their own works..

How do you determine which designs will sell and which ones will not? Is there a way to do some market evaluation before creating designs or is this more an experience based where being in this business for years helps guide you. Thanks.

Good question! You never know with 100% certainty but you can give yourself a better chance by figuring out the audiences of the POD sites you are selling on.... what kind of topics and styles sell well.... give value by creating something original for the audience that is already buying a certain topic.... it needs to be something someone will want to buy.

You are probably in the lower Apprentice category.... you will need to create designs that for the TeePublic audience, something that they would like, do like 20 really good ones and then email TeePublic to have them look at your designs again.... If they are designs they they think people in the TeePublic audience would buy then you will be put in the Artisan category and your designs will be seen in search

Juna, thanks for the information-appreciated. I am still reviewing this model against doing KDP oriented business. It seems t-shirt oriented business model is a little more straightforward - especially at my age and health factors. I am retired and have some health issues. So, trying to choose wisely based upon the research and real substance and its growth model. A KZfaqr has complained recently about the percentage margins that these two companies stating that they are not that great. Your opinion in comparison to MBA and other. I don’t want to do customer service so I am sticking with passive POD platforms. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The percentage margins are lower than Amazon but Amazon is tough to get in to. These two are FREE to start and you don't need to apply to get on like Amazon. They have pretty good organic traffic too. You just need to figure out what the RB and TP audiences want to buy. Most people who get frustrated are just adding random designs hoping to get sales. Good research and good designs are key

I would recommend it. It's free and good practice before going into something like Etsy or Shopify which takes a lot more to start and to use day to day. Learn good design and what sells with the FREE POD sites first if you are just starting out.

Create designs for topics that people want to buy. They need to be designs that people will want to wear. Do good research upfront and then create good designs that look like t-shirt designs. Give people a reason to choose yours above what is already out there.

I would start with TeePublic.... it's free, it has great traffic, uploading is fast and it's one of the easiest to understand.... Amazon is great too if you can get it but chances are you won't. RedBubble has too many products and many sells stickers, Etsy and Shopify has a ton of moving parts, they are not beginner friendly.

Multiply by 4 TP sales and that is how you should do. RB is broken so they do not count anymore. Same will happen to TP this year, since RB took them they go free fall. No hoodie for 8 anymore. All sales are during sale period $2. who believe in that. From 500 to 50 monthly. I removed many designs. Have about 60 and thats all from me in a field of pod. Greed and selfishness ruined all. Wish everyone good luck and less designs stolen by company bot accounts.

@DetourShirts I did, it was more than a year ago. They told me to send photos of me holding my documents and I think I had to write a letter or something but the response was that the matter is small I will get back my account but if not then I won't be able to access it. I kept trying after months and didn't get access so I finally let go. My account was still new, I had a little bit of stock but hadn't even made a sale yet. Oh ,God.

You just have to keep trying different things, uploading more all the time. Eventually, something will click and people will buy it. Then make more of that. That's my experience anyway.

If you created 100 designs and followed all the 5 steps and gave it 3-6 months... I would go back and look at the designs.... try a different style, try a different topic, make sure it looks like a t-shirt designs. My guess is that something is off. Your designs are not connecting with the audience in some way. Which means it needs to change. Stop doing what you are currently doing because that's not working. Try something totally different and test that.... like I said the first 100 is a test. If it doesn't work you need to pivot and try something new. Hope that helps

Thanks for posting and sharing this video, but I think AI is a bad idea to use in order to sell artwork if you're an artist compared to using your own imagination and drawing it from scratch and making it your own on these sites. And because their shop probably would get shut down due to copyrighted art because of someone else using AI. Don't get me wrong, I think some of the artwork with AI looks great like background scenery, but creating characters, not so much.

My guess is that you are in the apprentice category. You will need to drive traffic to your store. You will also need to create designs that people want to buy. TeePublic will level up your account if you have the right kinds of designs.
