I agree. Christians who are primarily pastorally moved can often become apostolically blind and find themselves nursing their shepherding temperaments rather than developing a kingly perspective. Thank God David could do both. His shepherding heart didn’t blind him from the mandate from God to fight for righteousness in his nation. He knew mercy but could execute justice when God commanded. We would do well to examine our temperaments and agree with the season God is speaking over the nation so that we position ourselves on the right side of history.

As I had fallen in a well and was dying .a preacher went by singing praises to God and i could hear him calling out to others , teaching the good way yet he did not hear me call .At long last after much prayer calling out to God for mercy , I heard a man walk by the top of the well at first he didn't hear my calls for help , but I could hear him clearly .He was boosting about himself and some great exploits he had done .Then when he paused he looked down the well and saw me ,He said I will help you .so he got others to help him get a rope and they lowered him into the well .that man continued to boast and demean others he felt had wronged him the whole time he was saving my life .I thank God my Father and give him all the Glory for sending a rough man to save me that day.

Christians, for the sake of integrity, should rebuke Trump when he behaves poorly; but, the policies he has -- and likely will continue -- to espouse are overall much more consistent with a biblical worldview/value system. The presidency is pretty much settled but what I can’t seem to understand is how no one is tracking back to Habakkuk. God used the Assyrians to bring judgement. Whichever side you feel is worse, that are not worse than the Assyrians!! God will use whoever He desires for His glory. I did vote and have my obvious preference but I’m still 100% believing that God will work in a greater way than through politics. I didn’t grow up in a politically aligned home so I don’t feel any allegiance to the name “Christian-conservative” but I feel like people of God hold that name dear and want to protect it. I am willing to drop my blackness in a world of BLM protests in the name of Christ because I feel BLM ultimately can’t save me. I want reasonable forms of equality that any minority would want but it seems so strange to me that Christians can’t not fathom the idea that God could ever use Biden & Harris. Our God is neither for us or them, He is for Himself. The problem is we focus on them and us and not on the gospel and loving your neighbor as yourself. God desires us to be the salt and light and not engage in arguing and trying to use the political leadership or system to beat the odds. The warfare is not flesh and blood-we are too focus on who is right. Jesus came to deal with the sin problem, and we do not need to find an alternative to curb sin. We will loose every war we undertake using carnal means. God wants to change our old strategy and not get stuck with the “old” way of fighting the battle. Sin cannot be defeated by the Supreme Court or a political leader-But Jesus our commander knows the right strategy for the battle.

What's the biblical understanding of bowing to a Catholic priest and kissing his feet?

Over a week ago, the Lord spoke a word to me. He said, “they have blood on their hands”. I asked, “who?” He replied, “ all those who contributed to the murder of innocent babies”. He said, “call them to repent, this is the time of preparation...they are preparing an offering of ‘strange fire’ to present to Me. If they don’t repent, they will be destroyed”. I understood the ones He was talking about were not only those who performed abortions, but also the ones who made the instruments use, the ones who sold the land and built the clinics, the ones who used the body parts of babies and the ones who received the body parts in their own persons. The culpable ones were staggering numbers. He’s so full of mercy! I’ve been praying for wholesale repentance.

It is saddening to read the article by John Piper and equally men raised up by the Holy Spirit having to refute it sensitively along with Wayne Grudem. I am convinced all 3 men including Lou, Wayne and Piper are gifts to the church. However it is not John Piper's personal conviction that is at stake whether he considers both candidates have negative influences on society because of either their supposed policy holdings or their character flaws but Piper is bound to know his influence could be instrumental to many voters and result in no voting or a vote for the policies of the Democrats. These are diametrically opposed to bibical principles. Who truly knows "Trumps" current heart on these issues or how much he is smart enough to sense the voters whom make up his first Presidency will swing towards him because of appearing to actually have become more pro-life, moral and genuinely is God's chosen man to withhold deeper evils. As a true repentant sinner myself, it has taken a lifetime of painful growth to see things as God does. John Piper is a deeply sensitive lover of God but I must admit his decision to make what should be private (because of his followers and influence) should have remained that or the article should have been written after the Election. Now before anyone reprimands me for using the word ' follow' in association with Piper and suggests that only following Christ is the answer, I know that! But we can all agree that while we are all priests guided by the Holy Spirit if we truly trust in the finished work at Calvary ,we acknowledge that we are built up by teaching priests whom dig deep to exhort us . I often have to listen to John Mcarthur three times before I fully grasp the brilliance of gift in him. To be fair, Piper has let the cat out of the bag and it would seem an error of judgement but we too must see 4 more years of the Trump administration to learn if Piper may have points. I do suspect while Trump is wild natured he may answer questions differently as he seems to have matured. Trump has by his own admission not being truly convicted by the Holy Spirit but his choice and admiration for Amy Coney Barrett and Mike Pence is pretty awesome, to name but a few. Paul the apostle was a pretty awful character before conversion and he was also happy that the Gospel was preached even though it was taking advantage of him being in prison. Meaning, Trump despite his past, mostly is preaching scripture even if he may be acting on occasion. John Piper seems to have concerns that there is some equivalency to Democrat Policy and President Trump. But this is akin to likening apples and oranges. It should be the policies and characters, however that would be ideal. So surely we opt for policy even if the personality is not our preference. We are often in many areas of life having to weigh up the lesser of two evils . I live in UK and cannot vote but equally I pray and know that whomever is appointed will be God's Will. Even the proportion of those who allowed great teachers to influence them, they will be no match for God as it is clear He raises up the powers that be. Our perfect God. No man is perfect or infallible. So we don't need to Piper bash. He was and is entitled to hold the views of the tender conscience. And we who think his opinion quite influential still must forgive him and enjoy the gift God has given him. This is not an occasion to bash him or call him names. To his own Master he stands or falls. If he senses he was out of order he may write another article but if not he will let it fall. I pray that "Desiring God ministries" suffers no ill effects. I pray we all learn from our past mistakes including politicians. So cheer up everyone "Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not(fully) to our own understanding. " May God bless you all and may we all learn, how we each fall short of the Glory of God!.

Mr. Engle and other brothers and sisters who have posted. I Think we all should look at the manner in which Wayne Gruden disagreed with our brother John piper. He did so in an effort to do as scripture said “win our brother” . He first went directly to him and did it with humility. It saddens me to see how much we are circumventing the process of Matthew 18 when we have an issue with another brother and we are looking just like the world on social media platforms. I too am pro life and think they are better ways to address our platforms and disagreements or frustrations in a way that does not malign the way of the gospel and make us look foolish to the world as they watch as publicly argue with one another. Also I want to encourage all of those who are so passionate who are pro life to not just be pro life in word but in deed. What does this look like? This looks like: Adopting a child or becoming a foster parent or being a respite family or mentoring a single parent who has decided to choose life . I say this in all humility- my family has done each one of them in some fashion and I find my friends who all do this in deed tend to have less energy to publicly mudsling other people in the pro-life argument as we are reserving our energies for the fight on the ground. Plus serving brings out things in you that humble you so when you disagree you do it with grace and humility. Please brothers and sisters let’s reserve our efforts for what really matters and when we have a platform let’s speak with Meekness and humility...let’s not operate as a cancel culture! Let’s ask ourselves...Where and what would Jesus be doing if he was here? Abortion is murder. I acknowledge this undoubtedly. It was through a teaching of Piper’s I learned how it has disproportionately affected poor black women. But there is another form of murder that I would kindly like for you to consider “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 3:15. I remember the day I learned about Dylan Roofs atrocities, and that his hometown was the same as mine. I remember wondering how such an evil spirit of hate begins. I remember reading about the websites where he found fellowship with other racists who spewed the same ideologies and were captive to the same fortified thoughts. (I am aware this was 2015, thank your thoughts kindly) I have watched, these last four years, as our President has, through his words and tweets, given a pass to the dangerous rhetoric of hatred. I have seen the opportunities for him to unify our nation wasted with divisive language and selfishness. And even today I have yet to see any change. But I have seen the nation become more divided among racial lines. I can acknowledge both the pros and cons of having four more years of this regime, or a Biden regime. Regardless, God is in control. I only pray for God to give us a president he would be pleased to give our nation victory through. With all my heart I don’t believe that is Donald Trump. And yet not my will, His will be done.
