The IRVWPC removed probably 70% of the sounds our water pump was making. It has some cool features too, like shutting down if the water runs continuously for a long time.

I like the rubber mat tip. I have also used rubber pipe insulation for inlet, outlet hose for pump that worked well plus assisted in insulating as well. It went from a Brrrrr to a Hmmm 😂 so you could still tell you had a leak. I think adding the mat as well would reduce even more. I’ll give it a try. 🤙🏻

good tips on quieting, I would maybe add, Looking at where it is installed and find a better place for it, this may not be reasonable because of plumbing, but our Grand Design has it in the pass through behind the Nautilus, way better than our forest River that was under the bathroom sink. I 100% agree about the leak alarm, have saved us from disaster more than once.

Another tip from someone in the RV industry. The vibrations from the pump transfer down the water lines. They can produce extra noise in the saddle mountings if they are not a neat fit. I have found a little squirt of silicone between the hoses and saddles under the RV can make a big difference. 😊

A person could just install vibration isolators at all four mounting points as well. They are standard supply items that can be bought just about anywhere. In industrial situations, we use them all the time to isolate compressor, motor, and other mechaical vibrations.

Todd, you are awesome bro!!! I fully agree and like your suggestions, but am in full agreement that you want to hear the pump to know of a problem in advance. A mousepad is also good for helping to eliminate the noise. When you put the screws back in don't Reef them down tight have a 1/16 inch or so of play that will also help reduce the sound. Another thing you can look at is to make sure the water lines around the water pump are not touching a wall or anything solid that will carry the sound and worsen the vibration.

In my 5th wheel the water pump is behind and under the Nautilus P4 panel. I got a small (new) plastic cat litter pan and put that under the water pump then screwed it back down. The pump has its own rubber feet sealing the screw holes. Then I placed a Govee water leak alarm in the plastic pan. That way if any leaks from the spaghetti that is the P4 plumbing or the water pump will get captured in the pan and trip the alarm. I also put another water alarm under the hot water tank. If the horse mat is too thick for your space, a small section of a yoga mat, treadmill mat, or mouse pad works too.

We had a loud noise when the pump was running and discovered that it wasn't the pump. It was actually one of the water hoses coming from the pump in the basement and resting against the underside of the floor. When we put a cloth between it and the underside of the floor, the noise was reduced greatly.

Note to KZ owners; some trailers in the 2011 year have a vent hose connected to the water tank. Most owners installed a shut off valve on the vent hose, to prevent water loss during travel. If you're camping for more than 3 days, you have to OPEN the valve on the vent hose, to ventilate the tank. Otherwise, the pump gets very loud, because it's working harder to pump water against negative air pressure in the tank. It's just like when your water tank is getting low. The pump gets louder as it begins to cavitate.

If you make a quite box and your pump cuts off after running a bit you overheated the pump and you'll need to provide some airflow for the pump to cool down.

My water pumps sounded like rabid wolverines in heat. For both of my RVs (5th wheel and truck camper), I mounted the water pumps on rubber matting and suspended them in the air as much as possible. That eliminated a vast amount of the vibration transferred. Now, they just make a delightful little hum. Either that or my hearing has deteriorated more than I thought.
