You can also use a roller set and hold the wig over a pot of boiling water to set the waves! Wait until it's dry until you take the rollers out. It'll look like a Hollywood blowout with a lot of variation and movement. Boiling makes the curls dramatic and precise, where as light steaming makes them look like a blowout.

Right on! I bet it looks awesome. One good thing about quarantine has been the ability to reinvent ourselves and try new styles, cuts, colors, etc. Working from home allows for less manipulation of my hair and I'm seriously considering finally getting into wigs as a protective style but it's nerve wracking as a beginner.

Definitely do it! A tip for if you’re hair doesn’t hold styles very well is to wet your hair and put some gel or mousse in it before you twist/braid so it holds better!!!

I do this all the time!! I do one big plait on my hair whilst it’s slightly damp (not too wet, make sure it’s half dry) and I sleep in it overnight and when I take it out in the morning VOILA voluminous gorgeous wavy hair!! Always prefer this than actually heat curling my hair cos it looks more natural and surprisingly stays in better

As someone who wears wigs every day due to hair loss, I understand " imperfecting" a wig to look more natural but I would so wear that wig before the Brad touch. And if someone guesses it's a wig, I don't fkn care !!!

Protip for plastic wig styling; using powerful steamer meant for clothes is faster than just using boiling water since it takes less time to dry!

Thank you so much for this!! I’m a photographer, but a pretty broke one right now lol, so when I need to use wigs, I have to buy cheap ones. I can do work in photoshop to make them look better, but this will save me a ton of editing work!! Plus I have a couple I’d love to just wear out but I’m building up my confidence to do it. Layered medium length with curtain bangs! If you hate your bangs, they're so much easier to grow out that way. Good luck!

My hair was to my calves I chopped 20 inches off, layered it and got some curtain bangs. Just do it! You’re young and it will grow back. I have strawberry blonde hair and love it so cut is the only thing that can give me a big change.
