Very well thought out design, and I appreciate your taking the time to show how the alternatives react in the environment. Not many folks think about what comes after a fence or hedge is installed and how that can create even more work for them.

Wow what a project! Got me juiced to do a little 30' run out the end of the driveway now... not near as ambitious but every bit the challenge so thanks for the motivational video!

All I can say is I hope the fence is on your property and it not off by a few feet! Great job!

I think it looks pretty good. I think it will look even better when the paint wears out and it gets a coat of rust. Even bare steel in that environment will probably last a thousand years.

The desert does have it's own perks. In the coastal swamp here, that square tubing would have been covered in surface rust within several hours once it was cleaning it off. I'm impressed with your mounting method to hang the fence. I don't know if you considered it or not, but the sliding end will also help with thermal expansion.

The fence looks great, especially that paint job. I really like that assembly table too, all those little cradles to hold the rebar. What needs to be mentioned is your no-fear when it comes to trying something new. Most people wouldn't even consider building that fence without knowing how to lay bricks or blocks. Those sliding inserts on one end of the fence panels was a really good idea, it's almost impossible working with out-of-square blocks for those panels to fit between the columns. The moral of the story is, don't be afraid to try new things, especially with so much information available on the net. Great job, Brandon.

also fence and railings are to be on 4" centers so kids cant get their heads into the rails. plus keeps skinny trespassers out.

To the fence-won't-work folks - in today's world of battery everything, saws included, no fence is secure. The noise cutting up or removing a fence helps, a big loud dog helps, and long prison terms help.

I wish digging was that easy here where i live in Colorado!

Yeah. I know some areas near a mountain you basically have a little bit of dirt surrounding large rocks. Luckily, we don't have that. We just have soft beach sand, then rock hard, well compacted, dirt 2 feet away.

Brandon...what is the advantage of living in the desert? Other than not needing a lawnmower.
@BrandonsGarage8 ай бұрын
Well that's pretty much it. It's funny, you'll see a mint riding lawn mower for sale from someone who moved out here and brought it with them; After seeing the ad for months go on and on and the price getting dropped numerous times, you finally see it sold when it hits $200.

next time if your gonna core fill just dry stack and core fill saves time. also if you are gonna parge the columns use Qukwall wall stucco. and that will really hold the wall.

If they had a thermal lance, it would be pawned for cash, and used to purchase illicit substances.
