Hi Everyone
I hope you enjoy this little tour around my revamped sewing room. This room was my daughter's bedroom before she left the nest!
I am extremely happy with all the new space I have but obviously there is room for improvement at some point.
The desk and set of drawers were purchased from Ikea
The 'Sew Ready' adjustable cutting table was purchased from Sewing Online

It always feels sooo nice to get organized and update, especially when it includes more space! I have a similar-sized cutting table, and it is wonderful. Having everything in one space makes the whole process of sewing that much more fun. Congratulations on the awesome new room!

You are so right Lara! It is going to be so much better having everything in one room, I'm less likely to lose things on the stairs on the way to the dining room! Plus it will be safer now for the rest of the family without my pins in the carpet 🤣. Hope your week is going well x

Lovely to have a special place to do your hobby. I’m in the process of moving back to my home after my partner passed away recently and so have to get things back in order. Huge job for me but I will get there eventually. I love you videos and have been catching up on the last few weeks I had to miss due to events. You’ve kept me sane. Thank you.

First of all, I am so sorry to hear of your loss and that your life must be incredibly difficult for you right now. I am glad however that you have sewing as your hobby and that me prattling on about my makes and sewing projects may have taken your mind of things, even if momentarily! I am very fortunate to now be able to have a dedicated room for my sewing but it hasn't always been that way. It is what comes out of our sewing spaces that is important not where we sew 😊👚. Thanks so much for your comment and watching and please let me know how you are doing when you can. One day at a time, so they say xx

I’m so jealous of all your storage, I would love to have that storage cabinet where you keep your patterns, I have a big filing cabinet with 4 drawers that I use, but I do need more room for more patterns! When I saw that ironing board in front of that window, I thought to myself, “what a great place for the sewing machine!” I think I would move that ironing board over a bit, that light is just too good to waste on ironing! Lol. You will really enjoy your cutting table, so big and portable! Great sewing room, enjoy !

Thanks Sue, I am so in love with those drawers for patterns, they were in drawers before but under the bed, not ideal! I know what you mean about sewing in front of the window but it has a radiator so not ideal really . The room was fitted out like that when we bought the house and it was the perfect bedroom for my daughter and now me for all my supplies👏🏼. I love my table already! Thanks for watching 😊

Ha ha ha! Another sewist like me that spreads my threads, pins and fabric bits all over the house. My husband is very pleased he will be able to walk around the Dining room in safety now, believe me 😆🧵🪡

What a great sewing space. That sewing table is just what I’ve been looking for. I have a very small crafting room and want a table that I can put up in our guest room and fold down and wheel away when people stay. I was worried about any fold up table being sturdy enough for cutting but yours looks great. No more crawling around on the floor! A well deserved happy sewing space Carole. Enjoy it. 😄

Thank you so much! I needed a table like that as well as I didn't want a fixed unit in there just in case it was needed as a bedroom in the future. When I came across this one I was really pleased, it wasn't cheap but that means it is really sturdy and Chris said you could tell the quality when he built it. It is so much fun having a proper table like 'real sewists'!!! I used to crawl on the floor and that wasn't ideal with our dog 🐶🐾. Thank you so much for your lovely comments. ☺️

You are right about the L shape, I can switch between sewing machines very easily but the funny thing is, as they are so close together, I often finding myself with my foot on the wrong pedal and wondering what is wrong with the machine 😄. You are right, I absolutely love my revamped room! 💖

Your room looks lovely. I’m busy dismantling mine as my family are coming to stay and my granddaughter needs a proper room. She is 2 so I’m trying to make it so that she likes it. I am boxing up and storing most of my sewing stuff until they have gone then I will be claiming my room again - until the next time. Not long for your baby girl now. ♥️

Aww Marilyn, it will be worth it to have that little treasure to stay with you 🥰, Pins are always a worry though aren't they! I know when people used to stay in my room I used to use an industrial strength magnet to scour the floor 😆. Have a wonderful time with your granddaughter staying and yes, not long for us 👏🏼💖

I love my table so much and when it is fully extended I feel like a PROPER seamstress 😆. I am so fickle as to where I want it, I couldn't have coped with a fixed unit. Hoover?!?!? Is that something I should be doing? 😉😄

How exciting!!! An updated sewing room!!!! For mentioning "new patterns" twice, is one empty drawer going to be enough space for all of them??? 🤣 So very, very happy for you! I can't wait to move and eventually set up a new sewing/crafting room. I keep dreaming of it and getting ideas from other sewists' YT videos. I have a 2 ft. x 4 ft. metal computer table I converted into a ironing table and put (removeable) wire closet shelves (2) underneath for storage of ironing supplies (taylor's ham, sleeve board, spray bottles, etc.) and such. Wanted a larger surface to make ironing large pieces of fabric easier before cutting. In my budget, I included money for a small TV for watching programs like The Waltons. ❤(Heartland on Amazon Prime is a good serial program also.) Enjoy your new sewing space and I wish you many, many hours blissful creativity (and filming)! 🥰

Ha ha Dori, my brain is definitely telling me I need more patterns in my life!! I really hope one drawer will be enough 🤣That adapted computer table of yours sounds awesome, I have seen others do similar but not as good as yours by the sounds of it, if you noticed I have those things plonked on top of the radiator behind it! Yay, you have a little TV like me too, it was such a cute little corner to put one in and yes, The Waltons is amazing sewing company. I will search out Heartland as I am watching the Waltons on that at the moment. I really hope I can keep this new room tidy and that everything that comes out of it is upgraded like the room 🤣. Your room is beautiful. I love seeing different spaces. I also have a guest bed in my sewing room. I want to get rid of it but can’t. My son ended up standing it up against the wall on one side of the room for me Lol. I have the same cutting table.Thanks for sharing.

That did make me laugh about putting your bed on end, why on earth didn't I think of that!!! I am so pleased with the table, I hope you are too. Nice change! I have a similar cutting table but it's not height adjustable. I found it used for $25 a few years ago. I love being able to fold it down either half way or completely. Love your pattern storage. I too keep a couple of bins with knit and woven leftover scraps (my containers are smaller though). They have come in handy with some of my sewing jobs. I also have a third container with denim scraps.

Love your new sewing room layout. The cutting board will be such a back saver!! So nice to have the freedom to move it around and to change the size of it when needed. So many wonderful cupboards for storing your tools and supplies.....ahhhh...happy place for sewing therapy 😄

Thank you! Honestly my back used to be screaming at me after an hour or sew 🤣. I love that I can move that up and down and shift the whole thing where I want it. The cupboards etc were there when we bought the house luckily but I never envisaged having them all filled with sewing stuff back then!😊

Thank you Terri, it is organised now and I really hope to keep it that way! I was so glad when I came across that table as I really didn't want anything fixed. I cannot claim the pattern storing solution as my idea, I took that from Jen years ago. It just seemed so much better than rifling through all the patterns to choose one. It certainly is the best option that I have seen, another reason to thank the wonderful Jen!! Have a lovely week😊🧵

I love it! So much more ergonomic. I had to laugh at the height of your table, thinking that it will kill your back and then remembering how tall you are! Ha ha you are so cheeky about my height!!! That table was actually at almost it's lowest level 🤣. It does feel so much more light and airy now without the bed, my Son was right, that bed should have gone years ago! Now I need a wonderful window ornament like yours!! 💖😘xxxx

Thank you so much! Oh those Jersey bits, they are becoming a real problem now as they have increased in volume. I only looked at them the other day and thought I really MUST do something creative with them. They are less than 50cm most of them and figured one day I would use the for colour blocking only I never do 😂 Thank you so much for watching. 🧵😊
