This entire project has been a dream come true. During my time on the Great Divide, I experienced some of the most challenging days on the bike I have ever had. I am really grateful to be alive, and be able to share Episode 1 of my journey with you all.
Big shout out to @Crankingit for sharing footage with me, and overall being great company during one of the weirder days of my life. Follow along with his journey down to South America!
I would also like to thank everyone out there who took the time to create content like this for me to enjoy beforehand. I now understand what it's like to be running up and down these hills with a camera, when all you really want to do is just get through the day.

Awesome video, dude! I love the editing! That section up Crossing Creek is still toughest 6 km I've ridden on my trip so far. It's insane that so much happened before you even made it to the US. It's really interesting seeing things from your perspective. Looking forward to the next one!

Last summer I spooked a Griz right near where you camped after the horrible climb. Woohoo! I rode crossing creek down bull river to my house just to see what you guys have to deal with. I can't imagine riding that stuff with camping gear.

what an epic first episode - such a huge adventure, really bittersweet to be following along; wish I could be there doing it with you (although not sure I'd be tough enough for that steep section... and the bears...). You have me hooked, straight on to the next one. Such great cinematography, narration and music choice, really impressed. Number 1 fan :)

Wow I was hooked from the jump! This has to be the best bikepacking series currently on YT-sorry Duzer! The video and narration were definitely highlights! Felt like I was there with you. Just subscribed and pumped to be along for the ride on your incredible journey. Stay safe and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish. Much love from Fresno, CA!

Thank you very much for these insights! I will start next year early July in jasper. I especially like the moments of doubting! I expect to have the wonderful moments and moments of being in awe, will be the majority of the time on the trail. What I learned in time; never make big decisions when you’re mentally stressed! I am looking forward for the rest of your experiences! Menno; from The Netherlands.

Are you planning to take the dirt route (Forestry Trunk Rd) out of Hinton, or the Icefield Pkwy? I left from Jasper last summer and I must say, the dirt road was very challenging. We got about half way to Banff (Nordegg) and decided to jump on the Pkwy. So glad we did! I’m really not sure why ACA even added that section of dirt. So many logging trucks, dust so thick you can’t see 10ft in front of you and they don’t slow down either. Enjoy whatever route you’re taking!

I am planning to take the dirt road. But if it is too muddy I’ll take the Icefield parkway. The second time, I did that remarkable stretch in 2008 from Lake Louise. I’ll make the decision when I’m there. I am In no rush!

Eek! Love the honesty. We are biking the route from Jasper starting mid July (that will be a nice warm up along the Icefields Parkway, I'm hoping). I'm both excited and quietly freaking out. Right, gotta go ride my bike! Regards, Ju and Grum, Hanmer Springs, NZ.

You should go ride the Maungatapu Track if you haven’t already! It’s outside of Nelson and great training. Not like there isn’t plenty of hills in Hanmer Springs 😂

Awesome! Raw and personal. Congrats on choosing the Flathead alternate. Not many traveling solo do so. I will also attempt it next July. Was the steep climb on day 2 the EVT? Koko claims? There's a go around there too i believe? Hope you continue. Take a break in Polebridge MT. You wont regret it.
@MoveWithMurph
@MoveWithMurph 3 ай бұрын
It was Koko Claims, there’s a go around but I was pretty dead set on following the TD route so I could experiment what the racer experience. So I was not willing to take any bypasses. The Flathead Alternate was beautiful I hope you enjoy it this summer.

@MoveWithMurph
@MoveWithMurph 2 ай бұрын
@@timothymadaras1613 I made a video breaking it down, if you want some more details on it. It’s hard to say how it really compares since almost every component is different. The frame and fork are very durable I can say that for sure. Something about has always felt way too upright for me though. I definitely would like something a little less “gravel” and a little more “rowdy”. Long story short. I have gone hard on the frame, way too hard and it’s preformed well. I need something I can jump better though 😂
