I'm surprised the stepmom isn't behind bars. She is the soul cause of the sisters death.

Not just the mom, but what the dad did in that final update was abusive.

I could have sworn I heard this story on the channel before… even thought the stepmother is a rotten human, that father hardly has the right to call himself a man. The pastor also failed in the worst ways.

I met religious figures who were primed with a bunch of hogwash, but the religious answer to self-harm is not chastising... In that, he failed big time. I hope they all get charged.

Less then a minute in...yeah unforgivable. If the dad never left her when she is responsible for his daughters death then he is messed up. Id make step moms life hell. Dads vile..make his life hell to I feel so sorry for OP. She and her sister should have gone to live with their mom. Dad a d step mum shouldnt be allowed kids Amd im kinda glad step monster had some bad fate and lost that baby. She doesn't deserve kids.

Okay while the step mom is a horrible being, I think the dad is worse...he lost his daughter, didn't care. He almost lost his other daughter, dismissed her feelings, didn't care about her suicide attempt and tried to re-traumatize her by reading the journal out loud and to strangers and then sending her away. He cheated and doesn't love his daughter in any way bc stepmom doesn't, what kind of dad who fought for custody is that heartless? He probably only did that to hurt OP's mom not because he wanted the kids. Since the boys are young, stepmom can turn them so I think they'll be safe but I feel so bad for OP and her lost sister. I actively felt sick viewing this video, so much hurt and sadness.

I mean the dumb thing here is she had duel citizenship via mum, the moment she was 16 she could if popped over there declared she was an adult and told her dad to do one. Then should could have applied for a visa for European adults under 18 to study in the USA as recognised adults without supervision. Using her adult status in europe to resolve custodianship before she went. I have a friend that did that via the uk. His abusive parents were massively pissed, but the courts had to side with the "child" as the frorean national status worked both ways. The judge told them they had to fight in the uk to dissolve her citizenship and that would be impossible once recognised. That was in the 90s.

Removing a minor from the United States is difficult under the best of circumstances; once a child is out of the US the US legal system can do nothing to get them back if it turns out they are in a bad situation overseas. Plenty of Muslim men who live in the US end up kidnapping their children when they get bored with their American wife and take them to their home country and they're never heard from again. Now that's she's 18, I hope she moves to France and establishes a new life there. I don't believe she can heal in the US, she needs distance from her father/step-mother and all of his family and since her mother's family is from France, there's nothing for her here but pain. In my experience, French people are fantastic and kind, albeit very reserved compared to Americans, and I'm sure she would be welcome there. I'm certain there are tutors or programs to help someone catch up with the language, I've met plenty of Americans that went to France for college speaking limited or no French at the beginning. I hope she can begin healing there.

Honestly, the dad was freaking selfish probably a main reason why he didn’t want the mom to have full custody of his kids and the way he treated the OP after her attempt was bad honestly OP if I was you, I sue my dad too for negligence and poor care

I think there is alot of things op doesn't know or realize. They are aware of the depression their mom had. But the fact dad got soul custody means she was in no shape to take care of kids. Yes he caused it with his cheating. But because he had money and church people backing him he won. The dad ether buried those feelings for his dead daughter. Which is something that is common with those types. He moved on and doesn't understand why op hasn't. With how the church views unaliving is why the dad saw op being selfish. Sadly he put his needs first and thought he could make op into the daughter he wanted. Now that ops gone he's mad at his wife who I can bet is going to be ex number 2. Also I'm guessing op lives in a southern state with how the pastor just ignores the dad cheating. I also think op missed the part where step moms family was mad at her. I think they have been told a different version of events.

Its funny how alot of people who use the word "selfish" dont actually know what it means. And i think OP might not have been aware of the thing with the asshats lieing to get more flying monkies.

Well, im not a certified psychologist but i have been taught a few things. As i understand, especially for people who were'nt raised to bottle up and ignore "negatieve" emotions, cheated on by your life partner and then basically being not allowed to have any more than half custody of the kids your Ex dosnt really love because he can bankrupt you if he wants can do some mental damage. Not sure what the culture is for frenchwomen but its an understandable reaction.
