I thought it was pretty crazy that many of your viewers probably had no idea that you are a huge poker celebrity! It's too bad you were getting into the poker scene as I was getting out of it. We have so many similarities! I've loved being inspired by your videos and getting to know you through KZfaq. Thank you for putting yourself out there, Annette!

Haha I think its one of the things I loved about starting this from scratch. Nobody knew me as 'the poker play' and it really allowed me to just be myself and not try to impress anyone. Yeah its too bad we never really crossed paths except for some guitar hero talk lol. You can always dm me on IG/fb or whatever if you wanna catch up! Thanks for being so supportive :)

Im the opposite... I knew Annette from poker and not Makeup... I was shocked she popped up on my feed one day and I didnt recognize her at first. It's wild her story, it's so many poker players' dream to have the success she did from poker... but we can all learn that even with all the success it's not always the answer to life.

You have the most underrated story in the poker scene. I'm surprised no one in Hollywood has picked up your poker story for film yet. Youngest female WSOP champion, 1st known online player to win a tournament without seeing your hole cards.. U were truly a remarkable poker phenom.. I wish you a life of happiness ahead Annette

Agree with Philip. I came to poker late in life and of course have obsessed over it the last three years. Not in your league, strictly small stakes, grinding the fish for 1/2 through 2/5. I saw your Vegas channel with the cheapest rooms in the big hotels on the Vegas strip and that's just what I need for my summer plans. You looked so familiar! I finally had to imagine you with no makeup and barely talking and I thought, "WTF? That's what Annette O. is doing now?" Poker's loss is make up's gain!"

I’m a nobody. But someone posted on a poker Reddit about your whereabouts and linked this page. I’m so happy you found your passion and will continue to support you, even from the first time you broke out in the poker scene. I’m a dude that’s not into makeup…but I will subscribe and watch because I’ve always supported you. Best of luck with everything.

So I’m a poker a player, and I was wondering what happened to you. You just sort of dropped off the scene. So on a whim today I searched your name and came across this video. I was a fan of yours from the first time I saw you play and never once thought you had a weight problem. You were beautiful then and your beautiful now. So I personally have been dealing with pain management since I was 22 (I’m 49 now). So I relate to your pain. 3 things that help me(and I know you probably get advice from everyone) I switched to pescatarian diet, limit sugar and take turmeric in pills and food. The pain is never gone but it’s manageable. I’m so sorry that you are in pain and hope you find a solution. I’m sad about your loss of passion for poker, but happy that you have a passion. Good luck.

A poker champion! I never would’ve ever guessed that. 😂 I think that’s the coolest thing ever. But what is not cool is chronic pain! I may know nothing about poker but pain, I have a PHD in that. I have Crohn’s disease which is bad enough but it also caused malabsorption of nutrients which led to neuropathy in both feet. There’s no cure for either and when you can’t stand for a sheet to touch your feet, walking is gruesome. Most of my adult life I’ve been disabled so depression as I’m sure you know, is bound to happen. I’m so happy you found an outlet in something you love to do. When your mind is engaged doing something you love, it can’t as easily focus on how bad you hurt! I’m so happy you have support from your husband, just having someone who gets it, is everything. And please don’t base your success on KZfaq by how much money you make from it. I know everyone wants to earn money, but money isn’t everything. You are a natural in front of the camera, you explain things so well, and you are very good with makeup! I’m so happy I found your channel!

And dont worry, I'm not trying to get rich from doing this, but I would like to at least contribute to making money if I can, ya know? My husband is my rock, I wouldnt be where I am today without him.

Charlotte what you said about when your mind is engaged in something you love, you don't focus so much on the hurt. That spoke to me like you wouldn't believe. The words put together like that. With all the things I've been dealing with and all the professionals I see, I already know the things you said, but it just clicked so much better and thank you 💗

My dear, sweet Amy, I was so touched and moved by your story and really getting to know you on a much deeper level. It’s so weird because I almost passed over this video, but something told me to watch!. I am so glad I did!!! Life has so many twists and turns, so many victories and defeats, so much despair, yet so much joy and hope, so many highs and so many lows. But all of them are stretching us to grow and all of them are leading us to the place we are meant to be ... for now, because life is every changing. I could totally relate to your obsession with workout, food, exercise and body image. I have had an eating disorder since I was 16 and just now at the age of 54 I have finally freed myself of these harmful destructive behaviors and thought processes. Of course the thoughts are still there but I don’t have to act on them or continue to hate myself this way. You may not think so, but you did have an eating disorder, but that doesn’t matter, what matters is that you are a brave, beautiful amazing woman!!!! When you mentioned and spoke of your husband and the tears started to come, I could relate to that as well in so many ways. Love is a healer, I’ve often heard you have to love yourself before you can love another, but I honestly don’t think I could have lever been capable of that without receiving his! We are to very lucky girls! Thank you for having today, it was powerful, moving and it has endeared you to my heart FOREVER!!! 💞💞💞

Omg thank you, I dont know how many times today and yesterday I've gotten teary eyed, and you're not helping lol. Food and body image is something SO many people struggle with these days, and its so incredibly sad. Whats really helped me is following body positive people on IG, with all different kinds of bodies and stories, and seeing them be comfortable in their own skin without being a size 0 has made me feel better about having gained back almost all the weight I originally lost. We are all beautiful in our own unique way, and I hope society as a whole starts to accept that as well

Hello Annette. Touching video, really. I've been following you since your very early days in the poker world, when I was dreaming about becoming a pro player myself. Now I work in the cinema industry and visual effects, but from time to time I catch up to see what happen to all my poker "heroes". This video is very emotional, thank you for this little peak inside your story. Keep going and just do what makes you feel good, no matter what people say or think! Good luck Annette! Glad to have seen all your kindness, fragility and humanity today. A strong hug from London :*

Your story really touched me, especially since I’ve also dealt with chronic pain in my life. The pain really is a mindfuck. Annette, thank you so much for sharing your story! I really enjoyed learning more about you, and knowing more about someone that I have (briefly) enjoyed watching. Our stories of dealing with chronic pain/illness are so very similar, and I know that there had to be a reason why I was drawn to your videos. I'm in the hospital watching your videos right now, and I started crying while I was listening watching...I've asked myself if I would lose my husband because of my illness. Like I said, your story really touched me. Putting your story out on the internet takes a lot of courage, and I'm glad that you've shared this piece of yourself with us. I'm so glad that I found your channel, and we can share our love of makeup! It seems that we are both using makeup as a form of therapy and escape from our pain. I know that I'll be here watching your videos, and I hope you keep making them! Sending you hugs and love from Michigan!

Awe thank you so much. Comments like yours makes posting this video SO worth it. I hope you feel better, just keep fighting and dont give up on getting to the root of everything. Makeup is absolutely a form of therapy. Not only does it make me feel pretty, and in return gets me in a better mood, but its also quite time consuming, which is something I really need on bad days as it keeps my mind and hands occupied. I live in Las Vegas, born and raised. 😊 I have also been recently dealing with leg pain for the past month that came out of nowhere and it really is hurting my quality of life. I’ve finally made a doctor appointment next week to start hopefully figuring out what’s going on. I can’t believe you’re so new to your makeup love. Your looks are beautiful. I know this video is a couple years old but I really wanted to let you know that it resonates so deeply with me. I was a hairstylist for 25 years until 2020 when my body just fell apart. (Fibro, degenerative disc disease in my hip and spine, and lately, liver disease, diabetes and crippling arthritis?. I was forced to quit working and it has been so tough. Lately, I have been really getting back into makeup in a major way (trying really hard to grow my instagram through project panning and eyeshadow looks) and while I don't make money at it, it has rekindled a passion that I long ago lost in the hair industry. Thank you for your beautiful story and you are such an inspiration and your videos help me to think outside the box.

I love how you so openly shared your story. I haven’t commented on this video, I usually just leave comments about how much I love your makeup and about eyeshadow brands. I used to have a successful book blog and really enjoyed writing reviews, I read about 500 books per year and loved it, but I got too sick to continue. Makeup videos are helping me to get through my days and there aren’t that many great channels focused on color, so I’m happy I’ve found yours. I have EDS (that’s not the reason I’m so sick at the moment though) so know a lot about chronic pain and it sucks. I also know not every kind of pain can be (fully) taken away and sometimes it’s hard to even think because the pain can take over your mind when it’s so severe you just don’t know what to do with yourself. It’s amazing you found something else to do that you love and that you’re able to manage. I’m trying to write a book from my bed and am doing my best to be creative as limited as my life may be at the moment, but the biggest goal is to get out of this again at least partially as fully just isn’t realistic. Your video shows that sometimes starting over can be a really great thing. I’m hoping I’ll get that chance at some point as well. I love your creativity and truly admire that you found another way to make it shine.

Thank you for not only sharing the cool parts of your life, but for also sharing your struggles and pain. I know I don't personally know you but I just want to let you know that someone out there thinks you are a very beautiful person inside and out. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety, and I've started to become a person that I am comfortable with. Parts of your story mirror my own, and it just trips me out! You are so freaking amazing. You need to believe that. I can't tell you how much you have helped me discover and learn about makeup. I too am dealing with severe pain. I had spinal fusion surgery and then got very ill. It took so many doctors, ER visits, and universities to figure me out. So basically, my digestive tract was ruined by medicines that I was put on. I can't digest food correctly anymore. I still havent had any physical therapy for my back surgery which was in May 2017. I was forced to stop my job...I was a special education teacher for 28 years. And now am being forced to apply for Social Security disability. I know how difficult it can be to lose things you are passionate about. Long story short... I turned to makeup to get myself looking better than I was feeling. I found KZfaq and began watching channels to see how to even use the most basic of products. I had no clue where to begin. And then I found a few channels that really drew me in, yours being one of them. I know this is such a long post but we do have some things in common including very understanding hubbies! I just want you to know that I truly believe in you and your talents and let you know just how much you have helped me! And World Series of Poker Champion! That's cool as shit girl! Stay strong!

Im SO glad your husband is supportive and helps you get through every day. I'm so happy my channel has helped you in some ways. All I want is for people to come to my channel and know that what they see is what they get, and its a place where we can all be ourselves, and whatever that is, thats okay. Keep shining and don't give up on finding a way to improve your back pain! Recently stress played a major trick on my health and my face has a partial paralysis which hopefully will improve in the next months. Wow Annette! I’m newer to your channel and have watched some of your videos and I saw this one so I wanted to watch it too. OMG! My mind is blown because I have been in chronic pain for almost 13 years now! I had to quit my job, go on disability and am in agonizing pain everyday minute of the day! When you were talking what is the purpose or why even live, girl, you had me crying because I just told my best friend the same exact thing just a few hours ago! My pain is in my upper back and I have fibromyalgia but mostly it’s my back that keeps me from doing anything. I just started a channel because I thought it would give me something to do and it has really been nice to know I can make a video and a few people may watch, it’s given me a purpose! I know exactly how you feel! If you ever need someone who understands pain, please contact me. It’s so hard to try and explain to someone what it’s like being in pain 24/7! I’m so glad I saw this video! Have you’re having a blessed weekend! Thanks for sharing your story!🌺🌺🌺

That WSOP story has me shook! I used to be so obsessed with poker. I fell down the rabbit hole a few days ago watching one makeup video and then another until I found your channel and got interested in your videos. You seem so very genuine as well as lovely (inside and out) and it was enlightening to hear about your life so far (and finally understand where your beautiful accent was from).I am an unlikely subscriber as I am probably your mom’s age or older and have never worn much makeup. I now see makeup as an art form and enjoy watching it transform the face. KZfaq makeup videos have helped me take my mind off my cancer treatment, chemo/radiation, surgeries and complications and now that I am blessed to be in remission but living with chronic pain. We all have a story but it only matters in how we learn, grow and change from our experiences. I hope your story continues.

Remember that you are more than what you do! I was really into poker too, at first it got me out of my anxiety and depression after dealing with PTSD for 6 years and then both my parents died. At first I thought it was so interesting and at the tournaments it was a such friendly envirement, so I quickly became good and often won (not like ur winnings offc).. It became something I finally was really good at, after being just a little bit good at a lot of stuff, so it kind of gave me a bigger value. Started having body pains too, and had to quit my job as a teacher.. And dealing with a bad person from my past suddenly showing up in poker tournaments, poker went from a good place to a bad place.. Went into more depression and anxiety again, hating myself, using food for comfort like you, and couldnt play poker anymore, because I tilted so easily.. And because of my shortage of money I turned to casinos.. And after being saved by winning big 2 times there, I was hooked.. And every time I really had a bad periode, I would play.. Went to therapy, but no one took me seriously, so I ended up with 140000 dollars in debts in no time.. It has been some terrible years, not being able to do much because of my body, mental health and money issues, but now Ive finally accepted that it is what it is.. Have no work, no boyfriend, No parents, not much money.. But I have a few really good friends.. I have food and a roof over my head, and I am so much more lucky than other ppl in my situation, because I live where I live, and dont get kicked out on the streets. Ive stopped trying so hard to get accepted, but Just accepting me as me.. There are still many struggles, and I would really love to be without a debt and have a better health, but things are slowly getting better..it has a lot to do with your mindset and personality.. As a people pleaser it has been really though to change, but Im getting there. Hope that you Will get netter from all your health issues, and that you Will have a happy and fullfilling life. God bless❤️🙏

Your life story is so incredibly full for someone your age. I’m real sorry about your chronic and acute pain issues. I think I can relate as I’ve had 9 serious surgeries related to having been run over by a truck in a pedestrian zone... it sucked very badly and I’ve experienced about every type of P.T. and pain management that exists. I really felt your pain as you described it, (without whining) as well as all the damn food mind games that are associated with trying to control a body that’s basically out of control. I’m real sorry you’re suffering. Interestingly, after about 15 years of lots of pain meds and still lots of pain, I finally quit the bulk of them, struggled terribly for another year, but have finally just somehow adjusted and though I’m not terribly active, I also don’t feel excessive pain anymore. I’m able to do mild sports activities, and exercises. Nothing aggressive though. I think my body finally just adjusted to where it was at. Hopefully you won’t need 15+ years for this to occur! I’m so glad you were able to identify makeup as a new passion and KZfaq as a platform for expressing it. Your channel is quite unique and your growth has been astounding. You really seem to be a ‘natural.’ I enjoy your straightforwardness regarding whatever brands you like- totally free from political drama. Let’s face it, basically 95% of makeup companies are major conglomerates run by white men who know nothing at all about women! They’ve whole marketing and research departments to tell them what to do. Pretending to be all upset about a few small owners and what they do personally is pretty hypocritical IMHO. I do support certain brands happily like Juvia’s but that’s just lucky, nothing noble. I’m also happy for you that your marriage is so strong and supportive. That’s a real positive force. I was just kicking around ideas for your channel; maybe you’d like to share some skincare tips because your skin is incredibly luminous... maybe some vlogging or tips when/as you color your hair because the color is amazing... also, your brows are otherworldly-are they just naturally like that? If not, I’d love to learn how you do them. Also, throwing in some fashion would be awesome like you did in your latest vid with the Forever 21 sweater... that sweater and earrings rocked with that eye look! Just a fun way to differentiate your channel, pulling in some of your personality. People are intrigued by you and want more. That’s a gift. I’m glad you referred us to this vid in the ‘Assumptions’ vid-it’s a brave and lovely piece. Sending you heartfelt hugs and love. You’re a badass in the best of ways!!! 🌻

😭youre so sweet omg! I've been doing okay lately ever since I stopped going to physical therapy and chiropractors basically every day... my chiro recommended to just take a break from it all and see what happened. There are things I cant do for sure that I know aggravates it, but I'm okay walking and doing daily tasks at least. I' limited on what I can sit on comfortably, but I can live with that. Idk what the next step is gonna be honestly or if I just want to accept where I am and not try so hard to fix something thats probably not fixable according to my MRI's Idk. I'm sorry youve had so many struggles too.. I cant even imagine 15 years 😳. I'm happy to hear youre feeling better now tho 💜. As for your suggestions, my skin care is terrible and very minimal cause I hate spending money on it lmao. I do get hormonal breakouts like 2 weeks out of the month, but its not so terrible that makeup cant cover it thank god ahahaaha. You can see my natural brows in some of my GRWM, or the past two makeup roulettes I did. I basically have no brows (thanks mom 😂), but I appreciate the compliment lol. My hair I always get done at a salon because I'm terrified of bleaching it myself, and I'm naturally dark brown. I only ever refresh it myself in the shower, so I dont think it would make for a good video. Plus vlogging sounds terrifying lmao. I'm also not very fashion savvy. I live in leggings or jeans on the bottom and sneakers cause its whats the most comfortable for my back and I try to walk a lot lmao. Its def all for the video when I do 'dress up' 😂. I could maybe do a clothing haul or something down the line, I do like watching those!

Hi Annette. This is all really cool insight into your life. Thank you for letting us peek into your life and getting to know you. It must be hard for a person like you to reveal and open up so much to so many strangers. For that. Thank you. Much love from SoCal.

Awe thanks for watching, I really appreciate it 💜. Its always hard to share very personal things, but I'm so happy I did cause it made me realize that SO many people deal with similar issues, andthat I'm not alone

Just travelled back in your time line and found this previous post. It was during the time that I was viewing your post at the Aria Resort that I realized who you are. I know that feeling when you lose your passion for something that you have a gift for. Your husband is like my wife if not for her. I would have no purpose. Looking and hearing your past self. I wish I could tell you that things are going to get better and you will find another dream. Thanks for sharing your story. Better days are ahead for you. Aloha.

Still fairly new to your channel so watching some of your previous videos. Was so touched by this video that I was crying at the end when you were talking about your husband and your viewers. Am so glad that Amy Loves Makeup mentioned you and that I’m a subscriber. Thank you for sharing your life story. 😻💙💙

Hey Annette, I'm a huge poker fan which is where I know you from. Still remember the hype when you won the WSOPE ME and the famous 'blind sit n' go'. Used to love watching your aggressive style on party poker premier league and full tilt online. I had no idea you'd retired from poker which is a shame or any idea about the rest of your life, but I'm glad you met your husband and managed to find a happier place in life. GG 👍

So cool to finally know a little more about you, such a sweet video happy you made it. It's awesome you even had the courage to make it and very glad I came across it. I hope you stick with making videos cause I know I truly enjoy watching you! I like your purple hair, I know this is an older video but your like my darker hair twin cause mine is a pastel periwinkle, lilac at the moment and I love it... it's just super hard on the up keep of any purple shade which I'm sure ya know. The Green teal is absolutely beautiful on you as well, I love most colorful hair, it's just so fun even in my mid 30s lol 💙xoxo💜 P. S. "The huntress" my room mate knows of you lol he plays poker.

Wow this is awesome! I remember playing poker with you back in the day in the 180 person SNGs. I can relate to this so much. I also have back pain and was born with a disability, which is why I got into poker. Poker is still my passion and I've been trying to do what I can to get better so that I'm able to play more live poker. I'm glad to see you are still around and doing something you love. I wish you the best with your pain and hope you get better asap. But we are poker players, we know how to handle adversity! Best of luck in your future :)
