Nice. Sulfurs heat range and shc makes it kind of a pain to get right. How I solved mine was to let the geyser drop into a pool of cooled nuclear waste. The nuke pool is temperature controlled by a turbine/aquatunner setup. The sulfur doesn't need to be cooled down that much but you can get it pretty low as the shc difference is really high the sulfur drops in temp almost instantly. Once down to target temp the AT doesn't run much at all.

Nuclear waste is a great coolant Also good solution :). Another viewer suggested a version that is self powered amd self cooled but leaves the sulfur at 95°C. That one is in testing atm.

So i did built something similar without aquatunner but I'm pumping 1kg of sulfur trough the steam room and then in a counter flow with the turbine output water to exchange temp... I'm currently waiting for the geyser to rerupt with much anticipation to test, but thanks to your design I will know what to change if it doesn't work! Thanks

I understand that you need some conductive liquid for turbine, auto sweeper, and others in order to cool them better, but can ethanol be used instead? Also what metal best for radiant pipes?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 2 жыл бұрын
For this build any radiant pipes should be fine. The cooling power is good enough. The liquid depends on where in the build you use it. Anything that does not freeze at your desired temperatures in the cooling areas. Anything that doesn't flash to gas in the hot areas. So ethanol for cooling yes, but it has a !terrible! thermal conductivity. For the hot areas NOT ethanol.

Hmm a bit too complicated how about let it drip down to a pool of cold water in vacuum. Then transfer it out
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays Жыл бұрын
That is also a totally fine solution. you could as well just pool up the sulfur and cool it then. Both of these methods are not as power efficient as this setup though. Not that it is a large power saving but i like making small efficient build. Most of the times that means they are not as simple as they could be.

Why don't make it solid immediately then pick it up??? We can spare 1 auto sweeper and the pump also make it more compact
@thienluong3796
@thienluong3796 Жыл бұрын
Build 2 wall on 2 side make top open put some water and temperplate in then run the loop in we will have 50-60 C sulfur run rail inside the insulated wall then feed the plant. Sulfur heat have no effect the tree so why bother cooling to 30C? Grubfruit have 50C upper limit is also easy to achieve.
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays Жыл бұрын
I honestly can't remember. If you only have the sweeper and the conveyor loader is full the sulfur sits in a pile down in the lower room.
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays Жыл бұрын
If it would only be for grubfruit sure you can save power o cooling. But the larger the Delta-T the faster the cooling. Also you can heat up your base if you have it at 50°C. When you also plant mealwood then those could overheat. If you only have grubfruit and ranches then 30°C could also be fine.

@@Luma_plays yeah! But we need temp control for sleet wheat anyway. So I prefer to build a ice buffer box to control all farm in the end then. Put too much effort to build big tamer only benefit 1 tree is not worth it at least with me. But building like you is cool too.

The use of solids on a conveyor belt loop DOES look kind of inefficient to me. (Perhaps that's what he means?) I think the more usual practice is to use a one-way conveyor belt with a timer so it keeps the solids on the belt for the right amount of time.
