My name is Samantha Wayne and I have been creating advocacy videos on KZfaq since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

I had Basel cell carcinoma twice. It was on my nose, and my right ear. Now I have a more aggressive form of skin cancer on my jaw line. I know exactly what you are saying. Bless you sweetheart 😢

First of all - thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. I know it can be difficult going through with this or shall I say reliving this all over again(on camera). Just know that SHARING IS CARING and that you sharing your journey inspires others like myself to go through life and all it's difficult experiences good or bad. By you giving a bit exposing yourself and what you have or what you are going through helps others including myself to know that I or we are not alone in life and all it's battles. Big thanks 🙏 Samantha for sharing your journey and essentially "You are not alone I am here with you always!" So happy you made it through. Blessings to you.

I am totally here to support you. I truly appreciate that you share your journey. It is so important that people realize what it is truly like. I think the scar healing looks really good. There are wonderful products that you can you use to continue healing it. Sunscreen (which you already know about) is the best to protect from hyperpigmentation. Sending positive energy

OMG I just watched your video on Lupus and now Mohs surgery. After Mohs surgery, I was given Doxycycine. My life has been he11, my blood work is insane. I know that my drug induced Lupus or Hepatitis is in no way the same, but I feel your pains.

Has your dermatologist talked to you about treating the scar? I needed my open heart surgery scar treated because it was turning into a keloid and hypertrophic in different spots. Anyway, they treat scars with steroid injections and I was surprised to learn it's the same thing as the steroid shot at the rheumatologist for lupus flairs! Fair warning it HURTS a lot worse than the numbing but the results are fantastic. Might be worth asking your dermatologist down the line if the scar bothers you or hurts.

When I had my nose taken care of. I had to go back in four times, before they got it all. My ear was only twice. I believe my skin cancer came from years, and years of being in the sun, when I was young. Now I am 75, and I'm still going through it. We didn't know anything about any kind of cancers back then.. My father died of throat cancer, and my Mother died of liver cancer.

I have just been diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma in just about the same spot. My history is one of autoimmune conditions - Hashimotos thyroiditis, Alopecia, Rosacea, PLE (sun allergy with urticaria). I've recently learned that photosensitivity can be autoimmune. It's difficult. I wish there was some form of treatment that was less invasive.

Hi Samantha, so sorry that you got basal skin cancer 🥲🥲🥲 Do you think taking Cellcept has something to do with that? Since one of the side effects of Cellcept is increasing the risk of getting cancer especially lymphoma and skin cancer. Been diagnosed with Lupus SLE Lupus nephritis with ANCA vasculitis and taking prednisolone, plaquenil and Cellcept for 7 months now. I’m so scared of the side effects of the medication 😢😢😢
