The first call was definitely meant for me to hear. 23 and I have 5 direct reports, 3 of which are 25-40 years older than me. Have had the same struggles (Work in the food business). Thankful for the Entreleadership podcast!

It's very possible that you are projecting your own opinions onto those older employees. Competency is the only thing that matters. The employees may feel jealous, because you're young, but if you're an expert, that's all that matters.

1. Grow a beard if you can 2. Go to the gym and get fit and muscles if you're not already (grows confidence and stance and room presence, also, its what men need to do.) 3. Find ways to raise your competency and confidence

@@willleslie2745lol! Its true actually! I also find that just making yourself an apsolute expert and work harder than everyone els and that will build confidence and true confidence commands respect.

22:47 to 23:16 - “seven team members” does sound like “seventeen members”. I had to hear that again to confirm I wasn’t hearing things. He’s right on that lol

Trust is earned. Earning takes time. Old or young, most people do not trust any boss until they see what their skills truly are when things happen.

Dave is a much better person when combined with Sharon even though she has never worked outside the home. Hopefully the bitterrmen's club heard this. Dave chose WISELY:) as did Sharon. Marriage is the opposite of a gender war.

I have the first problem, the respect when it comes to my family. I'm the youngest, almost 30 and everyone else doesn't take me seriously. They have been also talking smack about younger generations in general. I always feel not seen. I have no debt and I believe I'm working hard, so I don't feel why younger people should be looked at as something less...

If no one's told you, you're a freaking rock star. No debt alone you're better than literally majority of 30 year Olds and the rest of your behaviors probably follow the same pattern. Your family's behavior speaks more about them than you. How would they like it if you smack talked old people all the time? Try it and see how it goes. If they complain list out all the things they've said about young people. Then they might stop.

In the trades there is lots of ego. Problem is talking to a a guy who has been doing it for a long time, won't change.

1st caller: More info. You don't magically jump from civil vibe at hiring to suddenly not trusting the owner. Something significant happened, maybe not so terrible for them to quit but terrible enough to lose respect in the owner's decision-making or character - that needs to be addressed.

Never had that issue for some reason. I've been a tech lead since I was 23, with my team being 35-60. Got consistently lucky with my teammates I guess.

Given the current uncertain circumstances, it's crucial to grasp effective financial management, prudent investing, and adeptly maneuvering through economic downturns. However, my main focus revolves around boosting my stagnant reserve of $240k, which has remained idle for far too long with minimal to no growth. While I'm committed to the long-term approach, the erosion of my savings due to inflation and the daily depreciation of my portfolio demand immediate attention and a solution.

Should you seek guidance, consulting a financial advisor is advisable. While you're capable of managing on your own, financial advisors possess extensive knowledge and expertise in this domain.

The role of advisors is frequently overlooked until individuals suffer the consequences of their emotional biases. Recalling a couple of summers ago, amid the turmoil of my lengthy divorce, I found myself in dire need of assistance to stabilize my struggling business. This led me to seek out licensed advisors, eventually connecting with an exceptionally qualified individual. Through her guidance, my savings not only weathered inflation but also surged from $275k to $850k.

Just research the name Angela Lynn Shilling. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.

That's what Ramsey is saying. If someone younger is hiring you to HIS business. And you don't like the way he is running things. Leave. Or provide feedback to YOUR employer.
