After watching Federer and Nadal in 2017's Australian Open (and needing to lose weight), I was inspired to try out tennis and have loved the game ever since.
We'll take a trip down memory lane from my humble beginner days in 2017 to modern day me in 2023 and see what my plans are to continue improving.
If you have any suggestions for improving my game, feel free to share please!

It was really funny watching this because I developed all the same bad habit at some point. I started in 2022 and I kept forcing myself to hit like Nadal forehand and Federer backhand for the last 2 years. Now I finally gave up on being someone else and finally hit the ways that it works for me.

We all got different biomechanics so definitely difficult to replicate the technique of Nadal and Federer. As you said: you just got to do what works for you.
@Jitzie
@Jitzie 29 күн бұрын
@@francisplaystennis i disagree with this statement: we don't have different biomechanics... you're suggesting science is different for some people? from my observations of these (biomec) principles your racquet path on every shot (serve, fh and bh) stops at some point midway through the swing reducing a lot of your potential momentum. something like a more compact slower backswing into a faster forwards swing to contact would improve this (most advanced players start a little higher in the backswing and allow more of a "loop"). On a positive note: Your March 2023 serves looked improved compared with the previous videos you released in this regard. 👍

@@Jitzie Pretty sure he just meant that people have different physiques and move their bodies in different ways. You could have Fed and Nadal wear masks and the exact same outfits, but most tennis fans could easily tell them apart just from their movement.

Serve is such a difficult thing... I play for more than 10 years and I still don't have confidence and still make double faults. Your video only goes to show how tennis is not an easy sport... that's why so many people want to play pickleball... keep.improving and dont give up

In Los Angeles I saw this guy serve with the wrong grip, I was just so scared after what I witnessed. For some reason when ur racket head goes in the air it doesn’t look right to me, especially since the racket head is supposed to dive back in “trophy position,”

Nice journey, it's difficult to even improve that much in a few short years with a long break inbetween due to covid. But I want to fix your forehand so bad 😅 I'm sure you've been told this but you have no shoulder rotation and very little hip turn. You're laying the racket down behind you, stopping the momentum, then pushing forward with no fluid single motion. Instead of cocking the racquet up, leading the rotation of your torso with your left hand, then swinging in a circular motion from back to forward and through the ball.
@francisplaystennis
@francisplaystennis Ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Yes the forehand form is quite strange and lacking enough rotation. It’s a good thing that with the recordings I am at least aware of it now 😅

Change the handplasement a bit when serve: I see that your racket comes in a flat position once you have toss the ball, you racket your thumb needs all to be in a straight line Then your toss : when standing in position at the baseline just lay your racket down and only train the toss Than take your racket and lay it in the curve of your foot (right-hand serve: racket left foot) now toss the ball and it needs to fall in middle of your racket 1 on 1 serve for beginners 🫡🌻
