I have the EMSD-48 version of this flail mower which I have owned for 2+ years. So far I am very pleased with this machine and have had no issues with it to date. I use it mainly for mowing the sloping banks along both sides of a half mile long driveway. The side shift feature allows me to mow the sloping banks while keeping the tractor wheels on the driveway. I use a hydraulic circuit with "float" for the side shift function which permits the mower to self adjust to the slope of the banks. Hooking up to the three point hitch takes a little patience because the mower is too heavy to move by hand. I particularly appreciate not having to worry about the mower kicking out a piece of wood or a rock. My 28 HP tractor has no difficulty powering of lifting the flail mower.

Absolutely, I do my driveway also but I have shrubs and small saplings growing on the banks so it’s a little more to watch for. I do around my pond and other places that without this type of mower would be a real pain.

What size tractor is that? I want one of these but not sure how it do on a 30hp tractor.

It’s a 39 horsepower tractor. They make them for smaller sizes and larger sizes. They should have one that fits your size.
