My Thoughts on Discreet Carry Concept Clips

I build holster for a living and have switched to Using dcc clips exclusively on all my iwb’s. Dcc clips are probably the best clip on the market. Their customer service is hands down the best in the business. Matt and the rest of the team at dcc go above and beyond to build relationships with all of their customers.

I actually just changed out a few of those plastic Fomi clips out with the Monoblock clips that are sold by DCC since I wear a lot of basketball shorts. Those are the ones with side by side horizontal screw holes and not the vertical ones. I intend to order some of their vertical hole clips for other holsters that are coming in. I noticed that with my We The People holster, they drilled the screw holes for their Fomi clip a bit too narrow to fit the Monoblock so I used a Dremel to sand away and widen the screw holes in the kydex material and now it fits great.

Just got my LAS concealment saya 2.0 holster for my Staccato c2 with the DC clips and damn they're tough to get on and off. But that's a good thing. New sub here . Thanks for sharing.

I was used to the metal clips on the Crossbreed holsters. When I switched to Tier 1 they came with the plastic clips, which I wasn't excited about because I've seen plastic clips break and damage in classes. My second Tier 1 holster they had the Discreet Carry Concept Clips available and I snagged them. I LOVE them. Complete bite on my belt and I have 100% confidence these will hold, even in a hands on situation.

How have your clips held up? Looking into picking up a Tier 1 Holster and trying to decide if the clips are worth the extra $.

They are 100% worth it. Still going strong. I even use one on my Enigma for a more consistent and better purchase/grip.

@@twinkiez420 I love it. After 15 years of holsters in a box I now have narrowed it down to two for me. The only other one I like just as much or maybe better is the Philster Enigma.

@@mikespizz6790 The Tier 1 is definitely number 1 on my list. This will be my first holster for my first handgun a G19 gen 3. Which one do you believe to be more concealable and more comfortable as those are my two biggest checkpoints.

I just ordered a mono block for my EDC, that I instantly fell in love with, I carry at the 3 o'clock position but I also have a new appendix rig from t1c that I'm about to order these clips for. What length should I get?

These clips have amazing grip. The first time I tried them, not only where they hard to get off my belt, I thought they were going rip a hole though my pants.

I think some companies do make reliable plastic clips (T1C). Still, l think most people should make the switch to the DCCC like I did, except brand new concealed carriers. Even after putting my holster on thousands of times before, I had a hell of a time of getting it on for about a week after I first installed the DCCC. I could imagine a brand new concealed carrier who would already be trying to get used to getting their holster on, would be additionally aggravated by the super strong DCCC.

The trick here is to put your holster on your pants then thread your belt thru the clip like a loop.

Most of my holsters are vedder and their clips rock, but must have a belt. I am looking for other options for beltless carry.

Does the DCC belt loop do any damage to clothing when the holster is worn with a belt or without a belt? I have had reservations about recommending metal belt loops for IWB holsters that might be worn without a belt. I have some DCC belt loops on my bench, but have no real world experience as to any negative aspects with metal to fabric interface.

I have heard other people mention damage to clothing, I haven't experienced any clothing damage. When I use to carry without a belt the DCC clips were my absolute favorite over any other "belles" clip. I think the damage to clothing varies a lot depending on the person and their activities. Pull the dot loops are an awesome alternative for belt carry, but for carrying without a belt I wouldn't recommend anything more highly than the DCC clips if not an Enigma from PHLster.

I've done that in the past as well. The clips hold on great, but I've found that athletic pants don't function as a great foundation to clip heavy objects to, so I prefer using the enigma for athletic clothes these days :)

What size screws did you use for the clip? The ones that came with my legacy holster wont fit. I think they might be too short

I’m not sure what the legacy holster is, but the universal clip works with most hole spacing.

Very good insight. Imagine the cheap clip breaks and your small gun falls down your trousers at work/public place. Dangerous, might get you in legal trouble, stupid and embarrasing - actually defeats the point of having a firearm to improve your life. Use quality clips - they are a fraction of the cost of the gun in most cases.

I’m not using traditional clips anymore these days, but when I used these I used them with a really sturdy Blue Alpha Belt and these clips didn’t damage it. They do scratch on my husbands leather belt when he takes them on and off, but that’s also part of what makes them so good…they hold on really tight.

They make versions of the clip to fit most belt sizes - they have a few 2" models.

This depends on the kind of holster you have and the width of your belt 😊

@@tessahbooth hey thanks for getting back to me the holster will be Wingman Mod. 2 (IWB Double Clip) and the belt width is 1 1/2 inches

The skeleton holster doesn’t have any clip blocking, but you can attach a dcc clip where the wing attaches 😊👍🏻

Am I the only one who struggles getting the clips over my belt and pants? And taking the holster out, the reverse tabs that secure it are a mf to get over the belt to take the holster off me. Also, after just a few uses, it has started scuffing my belt to the point it is fraying material off where the clips drag very hard. Any advice?

Hm, that might have to do with how the rest of the hardware on your holster is oriented. Do you have a wing on your holster? Sometimes that can make it especially difficult. If so, is your clip attached to the holster body, or to the wing?

what screws do you use for these clips because all the screws i have , the top of the head doesn't go through top hole. Do you lift the clip up and insert the screw on the bottom hole? If so, that is a pain.

They do the same on my belt. They are an nightmare to get off of my wilderness 1.5 belt or more belt. Even pressing down and then pulling up. Pull the dots are significantly easier.

Depends. My husband uses them on his real leather belt, and any scratches that are created are easily buffed out with leather conditioner, if its a faux leather belt, then it'll probably tear it up if you don't lift the cli off the belt enough when taking on and off.

Got a Tenicor Certum 3 with DCC T1 steel clips. They’re brutal. Don’t seem to break in and are really rough on a belt. Nice kydex holster but had to switch holsters.

I couldn’t get those T1 clips on my belt to save my life. But I just asked them to swap the clips for the snap loops, those work great.

I'm not a fan either. They are a pain in the ass to get on and off, and destroy my belt. I much prefer pull the dot loops or even just other clips.

I'm going to start using these to fall asleep too, not because I hate you or think this is boring. On the contrary, an independent woman who is strong enough to be able to carry a firearm and know how to use it is like a mother eagle is ready to kick terror in the face. It's the most common s*** I've ever heard this week lol
