veigar W is actually a 1.45 delay, because it also has a .25 sec cast time. Hitting a 1.45 cast ability on a target stunned for 1.5 seconds is hard, hitting a 1.45 sec cast ability on people with mercs and other tenacity just aint happening easily enough

I think it would be cool to see veigar’s abilities get an extra affect at max level. Just to really make him a scaler. Like maybe at max rank w it gets it lands sooner, max rank q penetrates 2 instead of 1 enemy, max rank e has something inside the cage gives a little mr shred, and max rank r does something like giving 20 stacks on a kill. These would obviously be too powerful but I just want scaling veigar again.

I hit grandmaster two seasons in a row playing veigar almost exclusively. Riot listen to this man! I quit the game because I didn’t like the direction it was going and now the only thing that will ever bring me back is a veigar rework

[Veigar is strong mid game and not late game] It does feel that way especially when A LOT of champions these days scale so well late into the game anyway, on top of that, there are so many MR options for other classes that just straight up nullify burst mages (*cough* Maw of Malmortius/Force of Nature *cough*). Additionally, there are so many tenacity-based items/runes too like he mentioned, that even when you do farm up, set up your abilities, and hit them, it feels like it just fizzles out and they kill you anyway. You would imagine if you play accordingly and scale well into 40 mins of the game, you should feel good going into teamfights. But then Irelia/Yone/KSante who is 2/10 crosses two screens and kills you after tanking your full rotation while building almost entirely defensive items and you having all damage items.

As a cassiopeia main, getting a really solid buff like q range, into her immediately becoming meta, is fucking horrifying. Sorry this happened to you. Lucky for me, cassio's place in the meta has been stable for as long as I can remember, other than 1 month of q max+ludens in late 2018 i think before nerfs to q dmg.

I expressed my frustration about playing Veigar to fellow Veigar mains on Reddit, but it seemed like nobody believed me. I am a one trick cuz the satisfaction of one shot, but with the tanky champions and the new ADC builds, playing Veigar has become far less enjoyable. it feels like Veigar is no longer the fun and powerful pick.

Bro if you are making this video and actually believe someone at Riot is going to look at it and implement any of the changes/ come up with their ideas to fix any of the presented issues with the champion you are going to be very disappointed . They don't listen, they never did, they never will. There have been sometimes where they do make adjustments to champions but those are very rare and very special cases.

Really interesting ideas. I played a bit of veigar bot when it was strong and after a lot of nerfs just dropped it for ziggs. Feel like buffing his scaling is the way to go for sure and doing it in more interesting ways than just damage numbers. E max leads to unhealthy gameplay where some champs simply cant function against veigar but right now his w might be one of the worst abilities in the game. Without everfrost or teammates you have to pray your e hits and at rank 1 that doesnt even guarantee a w. The lower cooldown on w is cool but if it doesnt ever hit its meaningless. I hope riot will consider the w speed change but I think that would be to close to a rework and right now arena is taking the resources for bigger changes

also while people are walking around inside cage they can easily dodge your w. a cool interaction buff could be if you cast w inside of your cage the hitbox of the w gets increased based on the number of stacks. That way comboing the 2 abilities does something. and i would just standardize the e stun duration to a fixed amount and just scale the cd with levels. That way early on you can counterplay him in the early levels, but if he scaled the time for counter play is over, just like rengar, akali, syndra ecc... A 2.5 second stun aoe is too broken for the other champs on your team.

Apply the same concept Syndra has to Veigar. When she gains stacks we visibly see her change and her abilities gains buffs (wider range on e, double q and greater damage on her w) Give Veigar 2 q's; that way you dont necessarily have to CC enemy team for the W to land. Give Veigar's W a small buff splash range. Give Veigar's E magic pen or buff the thickness of his E. It is so hard for Veigar to actually use his abilities. Often times Veigar can't even press W because he would be in close proximity to enemy team relative to all the mobility League has nowadays and then get caught. If you land the E and you want to use Q and W often times they would use Zhonyas at the last second thus Veigar would get caught once more. Buff the splash range or buff the duration of the stun. Give him some pen and let the champion oneshot because it has NO DPS and is designed to oneshot.

100% agree with everything in this video. I would go with your other recommended changes. Right now Veigar just feels bad to play and it makes me sad. 1 mil mastery Veigar one trick out.

Idk if this is a bad idea, but what if they would reduce his q range but make it scale with passive stacks? That way Veigar could poke late game, instead of only relying on oneshots, which often can be impossible to get due to mr or long range champs. It would also nerf his early game, so he turns more into a early weak scaling mage

honestly i think a better idea is to have anyone INSIDE the event horizon lose "bonus" tenacity and "bonus" MR so it makes landing it around a player more effective but anyone touching it from the outside not hit by the debuff (i feel like reducing the MR against champs who dont have any MR built is a bit unfair)

one of the problems with veigar is the problem with all mages, that MR is TOO efficient, a lot of mages rely on the sorc luden shadowflame to do near true damage. or in veigars case, sorcs. because you gain a lot less mr, that makes the MR you do buy much much more efficient than the armour you buy, per unit stat and gold spent. a single null cloak will reudce your damage by like 20%. They need to either make % pen more plentiful

I think the main problem with veigar is that no one likes playing against them. The cage is just too oppressive

Good points, but disagree with MR penetration suggestion on E. Champions are suppose to get countered by Resistances, so when some champions randomly pull 25% Penetration/shred out of nowhere it feels unfair (especially on ranged champions). Instead Riot could create either second anti-MR item with less MR penetration than Void Staff, but with it's own unique advantage (just like LDR and Mortal Reminder) or unique MR shred item similar to Black Cleaver (obviously with less MR shred than Void Staff of course). Either way AP needs huge rework, because current state of Ability Power creates way too many problems. The fact so many classes have to use same items completely ruins their kit, balance and potential.

Can confirm, I've witnessed it all until around season 10. Good old norwegian skater minecraft days. Vladimir has a similar problem with magic resist and he also gets free extra AP albeit limited unlike veigar (but also gets health). Riot doesn't like balancing characters that get free extra AP. 400 AP veigar/vlad is much weaker than 400 AP orianna etc. Elite500 megafarms and helps out team, gets 3 items in 25 minutes but wait enemy bought one magic resist component gg, double gg if it's hexdrinker. Ok he farms for 5-6 items, finally can damage enemies decently? WRONG, They got full maw, merc threads, runes pushing 150 mr and that's if he is lucky and they didn't buy another mr item because he is the only threat from his team. Ok maybe he is tanky then? Nah 6k Hp some resists from zhonya etc, full succ enemy team, still dies in seconds. Only thing giving him relevance is his ult in teamfights because without it giving him health back character doesn't even work. He is exactly a midgame champion now, take advantage of the power spike off of maxing Q,E and hope you end it fast and hope no hexdrinker or get mega fed full build before 30 minutes.
