Some of my thoughts on the fabled Mamiya 7, and the 65 and 43mm lenses. Sample photos from both lenses are included at the end.

I have the same love and hate relationship. I have the 7ii and couple lenses. Too deep in to return :)

Interesting that you say it’s a portrait tool. I would say it’s more of a documentary/street camera. The 150mm is a good lens but not as portable. You’ll need an external viewfinder as well. I appreciate your honest opinion about everything.

An interesting take ... I'm not sure if this has given me inspiration to sell mine or not lol. I bought mine about 6 or 7 years ago before they got super expensive with a 50, 80 and 150mm lens. One lens you didn't mention is the 210mm lens, but this doesn't couple with the rangefinder on this camera so not sure how practical it is to use. Re the expense with just 10 shots, I mostly shoot B&W and develop my own film which makes it not so expensive. I just bought a Rolleiflex 2.8F so that may pose a bit of a dilemma when it turns up ... ie which camera do I take out?

It's also a very ugly camera in my opinion but there are not many other 6x7 rangefinders as good as this one.
