Something similar happened in September 1963 in real life. George Harrison went to visit his sister in Benton, Illinois. Beatlemania was still three months away, so no one had yet heard of George. He casually mingled with the locals and wound up performing at a local VFW with a local country band, the Four Vests.

About the time this episode was filmed, Chad Stuart was doing some voice acting, appearing as a vulture in Walt Disney's 1967 film The Jungle Book. Also, they had just recorded Of Cabbages and Kings and one last album, The Ark, in 1968. By the end of the year, after doing a few songs for the soundtrack of the sex comedy 3 in the Attic, they broke up. A Summer Song & Willow Weep for Me are two of my favorite songs of the 60's.

Like groovy, man! Paul's solo at Anderson's Porch, "Greensleeves", registered by the London Stationer's Company in 1580, was paired with the Christmas hymn, "What Child is This?" in 1871. As this episode's original air date was December 23, AD 1967, the song was likely selected by the writers to pay homage to the festival of Christ's Nativity.

How old could a Honda 50 be at this point ? Must have bought it used and slightly abused. Wonder if the Honda Corp. was bothered with that scene, I mean they had quite a respectable image then. In comparison look at the way Mad Men handeled Honda with kid gloves. LOL "Looks like one of the Creatures." (possible reference to The Zombies ?) just random thinking.

@rickmontgomery30373 жыл бұрын
I was just wondering that too....to me it looks like a variation of a 355....I didn't see any f-holes or a varitone control, so I'm thinking that eliminates it being a 335 or 345...if anyone else reading this knows, please feel free to help us out and comment :)

Hollywood had quite a knack for disguising vehicles, food brands, and practically anything else they could get around using contractually or not. Their property people were able to pull off many deceptions.

18:37 What is the name of this song? I've heard it in a million places, most recently being whistled by a serial killer on an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents ("The Hands of Mr. Ottermole"), but it's impossible to look up an instrumental. Didn't Jethro Tull work in into one of their tracks at one point? If anyone knows the name of the piece they are playing at 21:24, that would also be interesting.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensleeves And, the Jethro Tull version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM-Ypq6i1KmZqXk.html Well, I was able to answer the first question by Googling ' "The Hands of Mr. Ottermole" whistling' ; it was Greensleeves, which, among other things, was used as the closing theme for the TV show "Lassie". Any help with the second tune will be greatly appreciated.

its weird knowing Fred McMurry shot the majority of all his scenes separately...in such a short amount of time...
@PROUDCANADIANGIRL3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know that! You mean he was never on set with everyone else?
@inversion66 Жыл бұрын
@@PROUDCANADIANGIRL MacMurray did actually film scenes with the other cast members. But all his scenes for a season were filmed at the same time. He stipulated he would only do 65 days of filming for each season. He would do a month of filming in the spring, He would return in the fall for another month of filming. And that's it. The other actors worked in the way most TV actors do, where they'd work on one episode a week, for months on end.

Fred shot all his scenes for the whole season in two weeks, and then split. Must have been boring for the other actors.
@PC4USE12 жыл бұрын
Writers would have to have had all the season's stories blocked out(or at least those Fred was in or reacted to). Prolific writers there. Any changes in the script would have to be something Fred was not in or reacted to.
