I also have Tourette’s and I love how she embraces her TS. She helps me gain more confidence with it. But it’s also okay to be offended by people mocking us for having TS. Imagine going through your entire life feeling like a freak and have people stare and make disgusting comments about you for having something you can’t control. On top of that, having movies and KZfaq videos that make a joke out of TS which further encourages people to mock people with TS. It’s awesome that she’s so confident and embraces her TS, but it’s also okay if some of us don’t. At the end of the day, we’re just trying to live a normal life

@@alskarmode Ideally we'd get to the point where people with tourettes (and other diseases, let's me real here) didn't feel like freaks in society anymore. Dude the way you explain your Tourettes makes it seem so familiar. I've got OCD and your tics remind me a lot of my intrusive thoughts, especially with the way they seem to center around things that make you uncomfortable, and how some of them are just sounds/words/phrases that get "stuck". And the thing about trying to block them out making it worse is ridiculously relatable too.

same, I have ocd too and therefore I have those compulsions all the time to touch and fix my hair, glasses and clothes, scratch myself and blink more/faster, also sometimes to move my mouth or nose, idk how to explain it, I have them since I was little kid and it's really annoying and embarrassing, especially I'm afraid at school that people will think I'm weird when I'm doing that and social anxiety too on top of that doesn't help. it's true that it's getting worse when you try to stop. fortunately i:'ve been better lately as I started taking meds, but still it's even painful sometimes. also Anita's tics sadly trigger me as well so I can't watch her when I'm stressed etc (because then it also gets worse)

6:13 is how I found your content. YOU were that example to someone. I run a bar in an airport and got summoned by staff because a lad was causing a disturbance, swearing and saying insulting stuff to everyone. I knew a little bit about Tourettes (turns out I really knew fuck all after watching your content now) so I recognised this lad was not acting deliberately nasty and it was tics. I sat and chatted calmly with him and his episode subsided a bit, he let me know he did have Tourettes and was super stressed which was setting him off. I offered him to sit away from the public and chill which he accepted. Went on my break an sat chatting with him for about an hour before his flight was called. He talked about you and your channel and how it had given him the courage to take a flight on his own to see his grandparents. You changed his life and perception of his disability.

Regarding what you're saying at 8:00. I don't have tourettes but it goes to show that it's not really talked about or taught to kids what it might be because the only reason I ever knew about it was when they had Pete Bennett on Big Brother. I mean it's a god awful TV programme but at least it taught me something. From seeing that I then was able to recognise that if I saw someone doing and saying the things you do and say I'd know that they are not being mean or anything and to just be chill about it. The fact that a trashy TV show was what taught me about it kinda shows the level of education we're at in regard to issues like this.

Ya speeking from my experience and her videos they tend to be alot more nonsensical and explicit when they're sentences

I've also had tics since I was 4 or 5 which changed many times, facial & vocal. It's almost dissolved entirely and I don't know how or why, but it's comforting to see other people out there with such similar ticks lol. Wishing you the best :)

I love this, I love seeing people managing to have life... I have always been told there’s something wrong with me. Be it that, I have ADD, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers, I have improper kidney sizes. I have been lied to my entire life, I’ve been raised to believe that something is wrong is wrong with my brain. This made me admire the brain. I love watching people, to see what normal is, but the unique is more graceful to watch. You’re one of the most amazing people I have ever seen. The fact you actually have, had a problem and still managed to make a life out of it. I love these videos, keep up the good work.

I think hanging out with you would be the most fun time, ever. You come across as a genuinely great person, but your sense of humor is brilliant! Yes, your ticks add another dimension, but the humor you handle them with is not only hilarious, but it speaks volumes of who you are. Keep on.

When you say "wow" and/or "what", is that a tic or is that YOU reacting to your own tics? (Am I spelling tic right? Tik?) Thanks!!! You're amazing!!

I honestly Hated my Dyslexia and Dysgraphia so bad, that i literally never spoke or wrote anything or even read. but now, since I cant get rid of it and i'll live with it forever, I use it to my best. I make jokes about it, I made humor out of my disabilities THAT I NEVER HAD?! Like im so funny to myself, that im good by being alone and laughing with myself. Its incredible how much i've accepted my disabilities.. amazes me literally and thank you! ^^

It's really impressive that she's open about this, sharing awareness of it. I'm honestly curious how her daily life goes outside of Twitch, she mentions certain snippets and it makes me want to know more about how it affects her life.

I have Expressive Aphasia and you've inspired me to talk about my condition. I was never very comfortable talking about it or dealing with it in the open. I just found you on Twitch and then here on KZfaq and I plan to feature Aphasia on my broadcasts. It's time people knew just what it is just as how you are making Tourette's so well known and accepted. Thank you for all you do and you truly are sweet Anita. God Bless You.
