I have aloe from my great grandmother, over 100 years old and have many shoots/ daughter plants/ clones that I give away to the younger cousins and such. Aloes are great and it’s a good heritage/family heirloom

One thing I’ve learned is that aloes like a spot. When they thrive in their spot I do not move them. Otherwise they’ll get unhappy, until you move them back to the spot the like( window. Light, humidity etc.

Here’s a suggestion to add a large rock toward the front and anchor the two smallest Aloe pieces beside it.

I thought the pot was a bit small at first but now that they are in there, it seems to be the perfect size!

I have aloe as well. Some I got as a child. They don't get large. I think you made the right decisions! That forest planting looks absolutely fantastic in that pot! It will look very alien! Glad you decided to keep them!

Lol, I could hear the rooster crowing in the video's background, and for a moment I thought I could hear it irl. I was thinking, 'Who the heck got chickens around here in the middle of winter?'

Never thought of creating a bonsai like that. I look forward to a few years down the road. Now that I think about it I have one that is quite big but just alive on the top I could try something with.

You definetly made the right decision with the spacing in the pot, which looks so beautiful btw. It is going to be difficult to keep it forest style while keeping it away from looking like a clump though, should be fun, I might try something similar soon.

I found an aloe at my dads under a gutter, i went to repot it and the soil was completely soaked and must have been for a while, it rains a lot here. Funny thing was is it looked like it was thriving, roots were super healthy and plant was very green and healthy. I was surprised

This is why I love your channel, Nigel. I was just looking at my tiger aloe today thinking, "cool. It's still alive, my overwintering game is improving, but wtf can I do with this?" Keep up the good work and best wishes from western Washington.

Very interesting video Nigel. I did not know that one can make a Bonsai from an Aloe. Being a South African we have Aloes for the whole world as they grow in abundance over here. I am going to try this for sure. Thank you

The aloe should not have brown tips,I think it needs to be watered more. You can also cut off the brown tips to make it look better.
