Thank you for sharing! Sounded like you had a great time there! It was very intersting to hear about starting the fire and all the things you learened there. That would deffenetly been something for me too!! It seems to me that bushcrafting is for men only! And here I am sitting at my cabin in front of fireplace , listening the cracking of ice in -10 C weather , and Pooter I must tell you it ain' t easy to be alone in the forest for a long time. You must know how to take care of everything, there is no- one to help if you get into trouble. So far doing fine and loving this! Anyway looking forward to seeing more of your videos and learning more from you! Love the way you present things! All the best from freezing cold Finland!

So I'm hoping that someone finds a cure soon so I can join your ranks as a survivalist and bushcrafter. Where I'm from it's a tropical island, so the need for this type of training and experience would be helpful. Hey brother, very new to your channel. I'm hoping you can try something for me. I'm not able to get out and try it myself for a bit. Can you try to ignite charcloth from a friction fire? I know the point is to make a dust that heats up and turns to an ember but was thinking if it's hot enough to do that, it should be hot enough to ignite char and that would really increase chances of success if friction fire was what you were left with plus it would definitely be in the lines of "next fire mentality". Looked to see if anyone on youtube has ever tried it and haven't found anyone yet. Thanks bro! God bless!
@TonyPowers_Dirtbound
@TonyPowers_Dirtbound 4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. I think the reason nobody has tried it is because it’s so easy to create a spark to ignite it that it would be wasting time to use it in any other way. Plus it’s so brittle that if you put any kind of stress on the charcloth it would probably break apart and disappear into nothing.
@johnkirkwood7958
@johnkirkwood7958 4 жыл бұрын
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound I get that. I often think about the scenario of being caught in a bad situation and you've lost your means of making fire so left with friction fir as the only way. But if you can make one, then you could make some char and whether or not that could be used somehow to assist in making another fire. I've seen times where friction couldn't work because of wetness or humidity, they could get smoke but not an ember; just wondering if in that situation, char "material" could be the saving element. Just curious. Thanks so much for responding brother! You are a rockstar! :)
