Before clicking on the video I was thinking to myself "it would be really nice to find any readymade solo". It is a really good feeling knowing other people appreciate Frusciante's work as much as other do. What a time to be alive and to listen to these masterpieces!

Black boy funk instrumentals in the verses and choruses, with white boy singing, but solos with heavy doses of Hendrix, Lynnard Skynnard, and other other rock influences. When those are done right, they can really cook.

@@glebcreativ1 man, it has very good energy. Do not ever tell me Steve's any solo has not NRG. And also it has pure excecution and powerful structure. Here's No1 is solo from Parallel Universe which has no NRG and nowhere near even for the solo from Throw Away Your Television (where in the ending they start jamming with Flea mainly) which is way better, and, I mean, I do not even like the song itself, nor the solo, but I do not deny that Frusciante is a brilliant gtr-player with solid ballsy sound. I just think such guys as Metheny, Vai, Howe are better and more crafty and nrg-tic through their clarity. You just love Rock/Funk

It's a completely different approach. Vai is great at what he does, maybe the best. But he is a virtuoso, John takes a way more instinctive approach on the instrument. He lets instinct take the wheel, so he is not as clean, but it's all about the vibe, and how it builds into the groove of the song. I don't think they aim for the same things with their music
