When we only got a few games a year it actually made playing games a lot more special imo. Never would I have just tried a game for a few minutes and then not touch it again back in the day, or even have games in my library I had never played. We have far too many games to choose from now, to the point it makes so many of them feel like fluff. Yeah, I'm old, and I miss when things were simple enough to still have real value and be genuinely rewarding but also not so far back in the past that we never benefited from modern advances. Maybe I'm just blinkered by nostalgia, but I really think the '80s-'90s were a perfect moment where mankind had enough technology to make our lives immeasurably better than before but not so much technology and especially online stuff infiltrating every aspect of our lives that it actually feels like life is just a constant chore these days. To be fair, I also didn't work full-time or have to manage a marriage back then, so there is that too. Personally, I'd be happy to see less games and almost not "social" media again. Man, I loved my SNES.

Some great choices there. Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World is surely one of the best remasters + compilations ever created. Rare Replay is also right at the top in terms of compilations too.

I didn't have snes as a kid. I was a Sega Genesis kid. I did have nes thought. I've recently started exploring the snes and am having alot of fun so far. I'll probably try DK when I'm done with super Mario World

Oh nice. Yeah definitely worth checking out. A lot of people prefer the sequel. But I always liked the og best.

So happy to see boogerman on here, it was one of the first SNES games I showed my 4 year old and unsurprising, he loved it and thought it was hilarious, it's a decent game as well. Love the list!

I remember the way I lost my first copy of boogerman was swapping it with a friend for some rare pogs 😅. I was a dumb kid.

No reason to get mad about anything, lol. After all, the title says YOUR top 10, not THE top 10. Here's my top 10 SNES favorites in no particular order. Got a few repeats from you, those being F-Zero, Super Metroid, Super Mario World (Not the combo though, just Super Mario World) and Donkey Kong Country. The rest are Zelda: Link's Awakening, Shadowrun, Mortal Kombat, Lufia 1 & 2, Super Ghouls N Ghosts and Chrono Trigger. Like you said, there are likely a few that would have been on my list but I never played them, lol

Goof Troop for the SNES is a real hidden gem! Great music, solid gameplay, that capcom style... Check it out before I go on a nostalgia rant

Talk about not knowing the value of games as kids, I bought a copy of E.V.O. Search for Eden from Blockbuster Video in 1996 for $9.99. I was a big RPG fan, but I thought it was way too grind-heavy, so I gave it to a friend. In 2024 it's worth $250. I also bought Mega Man X3 from Blockbuster for the same price around the same time and sold it to Funcoland for store credit so that I could buy Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. I think I only got around $35 for it. Even as an adult, I was ignorant of prices. I sold my SNES RPGs as a lot on eBay for $250 back in 2014. In that lot I had Breath of Fire and Breath of Fire II, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III, Zelda a Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, and Mystic Quest. Thankfully, I kept my copy of Mario RPG and still own it. I'm just happy the SNES Classic is hackable, so I can play all my long lost games that I foolishly gave away and sold.

I dont believe you finished maximum carnage in just a couple of hours in the morning. The game is crazy hard. You die easily and to at least think about finishing it you have to know the locations of the secret extra lives and continues. Maybe if you were the best beatemup-player or your memory is false? Otherwise great video 👍
