I have been using Not Your Mother’s Curl Cream and Gel for a few months and I love them! I use the shampoo/conditioner and leave in conditioner mask as well. I’m still pretty new on my curly hair journey but these products have been great.

Just got the flexi jelly, styling soufflé, & hold me softly balm. I hated the flexi jelly! It glued my hair together! I needed to clarify tho. Maybe that was why. I’ll give it one more shot. I want a light hold. Just to define a little. But I wanna put my fingers through my hair.

If you live in a cold climate like below 0 °C glycerin can do what it does in summer and make your hair dryer! But if you live in a warmer place glycerin is great in winter!😍 Great video!

Hi Marissa! I love your videos because I'm going through a similar hair transitioning journey (2c/3a curls). Thank you so much for your advices, I live on them :) I've been colouring and straightening my hair with chemicals for 12 years and have now chopped off most chemically treated hair. Only about 30% of it is left. [Question]: Since I'm just starting out, which of the following styling product would you recommend if I live in a hot/humid country but I'm always in air conditioned rooms and dislike crunchy styling products (regardless of the price): 1) BounceCurl Light Creme Gel 2) Not Your Mothers Defining Cream 3) Ouidad Heat + Humidity Climate Control Gel ~~ Would be so appreciative of your advice :D [ Apart from that, I've decided to purchase the following products below: >For Mask: Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Hair Masque >For Shampoo: Not Your Mothers Naturals Shampoo >For Conditioner: Not Your Mothers Naturals Conditioner >For Air drying: Curlsmith Air dry Cream ]

Hi. I just heard u say glycerin is great during winter, not summer.....I'm very confused, other tutorials say glycerin is not our friend during winter cold weather....Manes by mell says glycerin is great during summer humid weather... I'm very confused. 😂
@marissa_lanae
@marissa_lanae 3 жыл бұрын
I can totally see how that can be confusing lol! So I think can depend on where you live. I’m in Texas where it’s crazy humid and TOO much moisture in the air and glycerin pulls that into my hair and makes it really frizzy. My hair hates it in the summer. Our winters aren’t as dry as Canada would be (where manes by mell is) so maybe that’s why it doesn’t work in that situation
@mary.gold1111

@@marissa_lanae I didn't think about location... That makes sense! I'm in California, glycerin when? Summer, winter?😂🤔 I have 3a. 3b.....ringlets... In other words, if it's cold below 30....the glycerin is out?

TGIN is really a foam, which I like better than mousse. The pump means it's a foam, the push button means it's a mousse. I like the foams better because they don't contain petroleum products, unlike the mousses. For a mousse to come out foamy and creamy it has to be push button and it has to have petroleum in it. I don't want to put that on my body. I consider it toxic. So, I I will not purchase mousses any longer.
