I agree with you on Spider-Man and Avatar, but The Lion King!??? The Dark Knight!????? Lord of the Rings!!!???? You literally just named The greatest Animated, Comic book film and Fantasy trilogy ever made. I can understand Lord of the Rings not being your thing, I’ve heard that before, but The Dark Knight is the greatest comic book film ever made and it’s not really all that close. Crazy take with Heath Ledger too. If your problem is the action, most of that trilogy doesn’t have extravagant action like the Avengers, it’s grounded on purpose.

In my opinion, and the opinion of several others, the Dark Knight is the greatest superhero movie of all time because it is one of the very few where the good guy doesn't really win and there isn't really a happy ending. Avengers Infinity War, Amazing Spiderman 2, and Spiderman No Way Home are the only three I remember that are like that.

Finally someone else seems to agree with me that The Lion King is massively overrated. I liked it fine when I was a kid, especially since I didn't see nearly as many films back then, but looking at in now, I find it to be a huge tonal mess from start to finish. It wants to be a grand epic, with several dark and serious elements, but it also has some very juvenile humor and obnoxiously upbeat songs, and it just doesn't mix for me at all. The more serious stuff works okay, but the childish elements and overly cheery musical numbers really take me out of the experience. The "live action" version really would have benefited from giving it a consistently serious tone, but it played things way too safe. Admittedly, I find Mulan to also be a tonal mess, but I can still enjoy it overall, and nothing goes too far in the humor department for me. I get why some would find The Hunchback Of Notre Dame has this problem, but it doesn't bother me too much in that regard, especially since that film is a big highlight from Disney for me.

My issue with the Dark Knight is that it shouldn’t have been a Batman movie. It’s a crime/drama that tends to have Batman in it. I wouldn’t say it’s overated but Batman is literally a side character it’s like a 8/10 or 7./10 but theirs a few things they could fix.

Now you have to make a video of movies that critics hated but are actually good. I find myself actually enjoying a ton of movies that just get slammed in reviews. Like a sequel that gets slammed with the old “it’s not the same as the first one” yeah no Sh!t that doesn’t make it complete garbage!

Heard you on LOTR. The only time I've ever fallen asleep in a theater was fellowship of the ring (I was 8 but still). They're well-made, I can appreciate them, and I don't hate if a friend who likes them throws one on. But they're really drawn out and I wouldn't choose to watch one myself. With Avatar, the visuals were fantastic in imax in 2009. Beyond that, completely average movie.

My biggest problem with the black phone actually was that they only chose a hand few of the kids to really describe. I wish we got to know more about the kids who were murdered and more of their background than just a brief two minute overview. If I remember correctly the one kid with the bike lock didn’t even have any sort of background.
