I’m going to be 75 in June, so considerably older than you, however, I have noticed that this year has flown by and every time I think about it, I’m put in mind of my mother who seemed to be constantly echoing the refrain, “I just don’t know where the month has gone” and I used to listen to her and not really get it. I get it now,, believe me, I get it!

After a certain age its comfortable “doing stuff, sleep, rinse, repeat.” Its what people do and it helps feel time passing by faster than it should i believe (i do the same btw, and im 44). 👍🍀🖖

It is so nice to see someone else that feels the importance of the expressivity (is that even a word) of the pens. Also, how could someone not love the tortoise shell pattern on an amazing pen?

I bought the Benu in Earl Grey. I had always been shy of Benu since they are so flashy, but the Earl Grey is a beauty. Writes well. With all the gold sparkle, I wish they used gold trim and nib, to compliment it better. Since I bought it, I find I reach for it a lot.

„The good thing about growing up is you can buy some pens!“ 😂 I loved this. That‘s exactly how I feel, 3 years into the job and living through some real grown-up life challenges.

My favorite ones do far are the Jinhao 90919 and 9016. We will have to disagree about transpent pens. As someone Aldo a bit older, enjoy the moment, take time to live, to breath in the fresh air, to smell the flowers and listen to the birds. Life is good. Life is precious and to be enjoyed

Benu Earl Grey is my favourite at the moment. I love the looks and the writing experience. The Pilot custom 74, I bought on your recommendation after watching your videos on it. I have a fine nib and it is my go to daily workhorse. I love how it makes me writing look. As a large loopy writer, I can normally be quite messy but this fine line reins me in and it looks so much neater. I just wish they were a bit nicer to look at, they're a little plain and I would love some fresh colour varieties.

1989?!?! Haha same age as me! I just got into fountain pens in January after getting myself my first well researched pen and the hobby takes me back to my youth. It reminds me of one of my late grandparents who got me my first non-disposable pen (Parker Jotter) and he used to use fountain pens. So, somehow this hobby makes me feel like a kid... The 912 is one "plain pen" that I REALLY want to get. Just ordered my first grail pen this weekend, a Leonardo Momento Zero 😊 The 912 is probably my next pricier pen. Some day!

I have been using my Kilk pens (the Orient Haphazard series to be precise) along with my Benu Euphorias (I love their painted collection. Especially the birds they did last year: the swallow, the hummingbird and the Flaminco ones. And lately I have been loving the Draco Darling one as well) non stop since I got them. My Leonardo Dodici Midnight from Emy is one that is almost constently inked up since I got it last december and also my Leonardo Audace nb 8 nib from Emy as well. I got another Audace from Leonardo itself with a Nagahara nib that has been inked up almost always since I got it sometime last december or January. So what I just realised watching you and commenting here is that I need to use my other gazillion pens and give them a chance to shine again 😂 Then again I love my current line up too much to be bothered to change it at the moment 😉 I’m glad you’re back to your usual schedule… love your videos as always

Platinum Preppy pens look like a toy that came out of a cereal box. But they write so well! Suggestion for the black teas: Pour boiling water over your tea (I put mine in one of those metal strainer things and get three or sometimes more steeps) and wait for no more than three minutes before taking the tea out. Leave it in and it will get bitter. I don't clean the teapot too often unless the glass is showing stuff. Kind of like a pen.

Kerry, that Earl Grey Benu is so you! You should do a video pairing it with some tea and writing. I also have grandkids, 7 and 5 years old, whom I've ensured they have their own Lamy Fountain Pens for their own. We play with f.p.'s, dip pens, and ink samples when they come over to create art, and learn their spelling.

I got the Gravitas Vac pen in ultem the end of last year and am loving it as well. I have been wanting a vac for a bit, but have been waiting for one with a removable section. Such a simple feature that should be standard across all vac/piston pens. The 912 is just so good, it is a pen that falls into the don't care for the looks, kinda boring, but is still one of, if not my favorite pen. It just writes so good.

I am enjoying your videos more and more. I highly encourage you to buy the Pilot Custom 74 in Forest Green! I prefer a fine nib, but regardless, I think the pen is beautiful, and it writes like a dream. Pilot is my preferred brand of pen because of the vastly different writing experiences that it provides: Pilot Vanishing Point and Pilot Metropolitan are frequently inked up, and lastly, Lamy 2000. Thanks for your great videos. This 75 year old woman is still learning. Also, time waits for no one, so make use of the time available every day.

Life runs away from us, given that a quarter to a third of the time is spent asleep, routines is another quarter, while the remainder is only remembered if they are unique experiences. For most, a typical day is drowned from our memory, which accumulated, makes it appear time has flown by.

I'm pretty new to the hobby (a little less than a year) and unwilling to spend more than $50 on a pen until I know it will stick. I have a habit of diving into hobbies head first and getting board. My general rule is at least 1 year before I start spending serious money. Currently, I have tried a number of the major "entry" level pens. I hate the way the Platinum Preppy looks but I love the way it write. I have one in a fine and medium. Love them both.

About time passing by: it goes faster when getting older, look: when you are 30, 1 year is 1/30 of your life and when you are 60, 1 year is 1/60 of your life, hence the feeling that time is passing by faster and faster.
