One thing to note, status ailments make farming a lot easier. Especially paralysis, which allowed one of your demons free extortion of macca and items from the paralyzed demon. Some very rare items can be gained this way. For example: Chakra Pot that heals a lot of MP; Stat Incense which permanently increases a stat and full heal whomever you used it on, etc.

The "anti" skills are actually "resist"
@shadeknight6537 Жыл бұрын
Just speaking from personal experience, but I would recommend giving the Demi-Fiend at least one magic attack even if you're aiming for a physical build. The reason is that enemies that null physical become much more common after the Girimekhala boss fight, and you don't get access to Freikugel until level 80, so it's good to have something to deal with those threats in the meantime. I'd recommend Tornado for the early game due to its high damage for an early-game Magatama, and Magma Axis for the late-middle game since it uses HP like a physical skill and has ridiculous base power.
@AxessDaRiptide3 жыл бұрын
A few things to add, Buying the magatama Hifumi makes 'that certain boss' easier. The Pisaca is 30k Macca on hard mode and everything in Junk shops are 3x more expensive too. Traps and poison floors are 3x more damaging. Ambush rates are higher and escaping battles is impossible without Trafuri. I really wouldn't recommend playing Hard on your first playthrough. It's very grindy because of the lesser xp gain and can feel extremely frustrating but if you enjoy a challenge, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the difficulty of this game.

Hifumi also can give Demifiend the spell Tornado as early as level 17. Tornado is a bit expensive at 25 MP, but it deals damage equal to the -dyne spells, at a point just before you start seeing the single-target mid-level offense spells. It does a lot of damage early even if you don't invest in Magic.

Hard Mode is such a douche bag in this game. I loved it. Played my first time through on it.
@edwardsuou2 жыл бұрын
Is this the only things that change in Hard mode? It’s completely fine to me to select the highest difficulty level to have my attacks do less damage and receiving more from enemies as well as having them more strategically prepared. It’s another thing completely playing Persona 4 golden on very hard where nothing changes from hard except you get a small fraction of money and exp you would normally get. That’s just annoying to me (maybe not for everyone). I can accept and even like to have restrictions and easy strategy banned like escaping from battle and don’t restart the battle when I die because that’s make the game challenging. To me farming more (especially in a game with random ambush and regular enemies with dragon eye) is just tedious and I’m not a masochist trying to punish myself or anything.

As someone kinda new to game and on final dungeon here's a big tip. Look up the upcoming boss and see what you NEED. You may lack something important like media or dekunka for boss fight. It may very well take you hours to get or grind. Knowing in advance could save you hours of frustration.

Another tip I would suggest when running low on MP is to use Life Drain from Incubus.This move is especially helpful in boss or enemy fights too if your demon is running low on MP in the fight. Either from casting a lot of buffs/debuffs or just using a lot of magical attacks. It's also just another factor as to why Daisoujou is OP since he has Meditation which a stronger version of Life Drain.

You say a certain boss fight (I assume you mean the uh, one in the sewers...(hope I didn’t give away too much)) is nearly impossible without sukukaja? I found a work around for his A.I. that forces him to waste one of his two turns nearly 100% of the time (this was my own experience with VERY limited testing so I may have just gotten lucky). If you give him any debuff at all, he will almost always waste a turn getting rid of it. This gives you ample leeway to pound on him hard with his A.I. forcing him to choose between damage or buffs on that turn every turn. TLDR: you can cheese the boss with debuffs.
@MakenaForest3 жыл бұрын
that is definitely a luck based thing, you very likely wont have enough mp to survive that especially if he uses his multi hit or force skills a lot. Sukukaja works a lot better, which you can get incredibly early on being the first buff skill i obtained, in the Shinjuku medical center. as for what i got it on? i waited until a full moon with riberama (from a will o wisp) and recruited a preta.
@obseed30413 жыл бұрын
In the early game, this is my go to when it comes to bosses but midgame and later bosses usually just spams beast eye and dragon eye so I would really suggest just investing in buffs more. Though debilitate with warcry is a very good debuff though lol. Late game bosses only hit me with less than 50 damage even with their strongest attacks. Just don't over do it. In my experience, two debilitate and one warcry is usually enough to debuff the enemy without them using dekunda. Anymore than that is a guaranteed beast eye/dragon eye followed by a slew of buffs for themselves.

@vorpal222 жыл бұрын
@@rvfiasco I found SMT: DJ (which is the first example I was thinking of) to be terrible for grinding. (Same thing with Bravely Default II.) The enemies before a boss are just so weak that it is incredibly easy to take them out and you barely get any EXP for doing so. I don't mind grinding IF it is productive and I am enjoying the process. In the two games I mentioned, grinding was just dumb. For example, I'll grind for hours in an Etrian Odyssey game because not only is there added incentive to grind (extra monster parts to sell for new weapons and armor), but you gain a reasonable amount of EXP. For every game I finish, I probably buy five more, so if I spend days and days just grinding, it usually isn't rewarding and just keeps me from playing new games.

AGI governs turn order, lowers chance of being ambushed, increases critical chance, and increases accuracy and evasion. What i did was to make main character immune to all status effects.He had Void Mind,Void Curse,Void Nerve,Void Expel and Void Death.And i also had him some elemental protecion with Void ice and drain fire.Everything in the game tries to one shot you with death spells or exploit your weakness.
@RozalinGaming3 жыл бұрын
This is an okay approach; however, if you decide to get all of the magatama it's quite wasteful since that magatama provides immunity to everything except almighty. Even before that though, if you simply invest in AGI then you will dodge almost everything; I can probably count the number of times a status ailment actually landed on my MC on one hand.

Whats with the massive focus on Agility? As it stands the way Agility works makes it so that its only really worth putting a point into every 5 or so levels. All those points should be going towards other stats, especially Vitality early on in Hard mode, and magic to gain more mp to capitalise on skills such as War cry, Fog breath and Tornado.
@RozalinGaming3 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Having done multiple playthroughs on hard mode while focusing on different stats, I have had by far the easiest time when prioritizing agility. I also don't think it's necessary to put many points into MP unless you are specifically doing a magic build; the amount you gain from levels + a few here and there is more than sufficient.
@aly33923 жыл бұрын
@@RozalinGaming Except all those points into Agility especially later on become a massive waste of points due to how Agility works. Since MC death = Game over Working on Vitality early is the far better way of handling MC early on. I also don't think its super necessary to pump a ton of points into magic (For example the speedrun of Hard TDE only goes up to 7 magic).
@RozalinGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@aly3392 I did not find focusing on agility to be a waste at all; in fact, in all of the times I've tried focusing on other stats I've always found myself wanting more agility. I found this to be especially true in the early game.
@GilgaMax3052 жыл бұрын
Dude, the more you focus on agility. The more likely the MC will get his turn quicker and have an easier time avoiding attacks. I don't see why you think it's a waste lol
@aly33922 жыл бұрын
@@GilgaMax305 There is a a point where the amount of agility you have doesn't actually matter due to how Agility works in this game. Also MC going first is not actually a good thing. You would rather have a demon with prayer go first. You can always just pass to MC to have him attack if need be, and in random encounters your demons should be carrying all the coverage you need, the most Demi-Fiend should be carrying is Tornado. I'm calling it a waste because it provides little benefit and actively gets worse as you level up. You could be putting your points into other stats, like your offensive stats, or on hard mode, into Vitality. MC dies = game over therefore giving Demi-Fiend as much hp as possible serves in making that not happen as much. This is much more beneficial than the little benefit of a slight increase to your dodge chance (If you really want to dodge just use Sukukaja and Fog breath).

The games do a decent job at progressing that naturally. You should be letting go of demons and fusion them like crazy! Because the longer you level up a demon the more exp they are going to need to level up compared to a new demon around the same level! I don't know if my run is just really unlucky or what, but I do have a tip about demons changing skills: If they have just learned Life (something) and you immediately get the prompt right after learning it that they are attempting to change a skill, it is ALWAYS that skill. I guess my demons just don't like HP buffs. And no, they don't ever change it into something useful either. It's always either a spell that heals a single status ailment, Hama, or Shibaboo. I've learned to just not let them do it anymore when they learn a Life skill.

Just now getting the privilege to play this game. Now I need to play the series. Seriously, you have no idea. I lost out misunderstanding someone's explanation... but I'm making up for it now!
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
The SMT series does tend to have darker themes, but the main relationship between the SMT series and the Persona series is that, originally, Persona was a spinoff of the SMT franchise. In fact, the first 3 Persona titles (Persona 1, Persona 2 Innocent Sin, Persona 2 Eternal Punishment) were basically SMT titles with a heavier focus on story and nothing like modern day Persona games. Glad you took the dive and are enjoying SMT as well!

@RagnarokMic3 жыл бұрын
The final skill on marogareh, though you have to complete the Labyrinth of Amala (so a late game unlock), is "Pierce," which bypasses all physical resistance except for repel, so other than those creatures that reflect physical damage, your character will do full physical damage to all other enemies. The "need" to grind without a viable place to do so (I'm at the Matador) is too goddamn annoying
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
A bit of grinding is kind of par for the course with old school JRPGs; however, speaking specifically about Matador, you shouldn't need to grind so long as you haven't been running from encounters up until that point and have been proactively recruiting new demons.
@iamergoproxy34762 жыл бұрын
@@RozalinGaming with that the way you recruit his is a lot more awkward by comparison to Persona. I know of the skills to make it easier but those have failed me more times than they have succeeded. N I know there's a debuff to remove his evasion buff but I've yet to get the demon that has it thus forcing a need for an alternative strategy. N you misunderstood me on the grinding part. There is a difference between the need and the accessibility of a grind. In many other rpgs or jrps there would be a spot you could grind if you choose right at each wall you would hit....that is non existent here
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@iamergoproxy3476 If you are comparing recruitment to that of P5 then of course it's different; a lot of iteration on that mechanic happened between the release of SMT3 and P5. For example, in SMT3, it's all random; the choices you make when trying to recruit a demon don't matter. As for the skill you need, it's Sukukaja. Bicorn has it innately and that is a level 15 demon. Cast Sukukaja 4 times and you're good. And I didn't misunderstand you, I simply pointed out that you are playing an old-school JRPG, where grinding was common and convenient places to grind were not. But again, the wall you have hit is not one to be solved by grinding, it's there to teach the player the importance of buffs, as a single buff makes the fight go from extremely difficult to extremely easy.

@@RozalinGaming i was able to beat em and I never had that buff, I just thought in reverse working with what I had. Since I couldn't buff my defense I lowered his atk/accuracy as well as his def/eva
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@iamergoproxy3476 Lowering his accuracy works as well. The only thing that makes that fight difficulty is the boss' insane evasion; hence why raising your own accuracy (or lowering his evasion) makes the boss beatable. Generally buffing yourself is preferred, especially early on, since many enemies will buff themselves but not remove your own. Matador is an example of this, and is also why Sukukaja is so potent.

To add to your point about stats: there's no point having more than 30 in a given stat as the best magatama gives a +10 bonus to all stats except luck. And on the note about chests, make sure to only open them during a full moon as you're garenteed to obtain the good item (otherwise you have a chance of obtaining a life stone instead) Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the agility stat only determines turn order and not accuracy/evasion
