Psilocybin and MDMA have recently been legalised in Australia (from a psychiatrist). I hope it carries on and Geneva follow suit next. Would love to see the difference on a dial made under the influence of Psilocybin and one under the influence of MDMA. I bet a watchmaker gurning on molly would use neon glow stick inspired indices instead of regular old peasant lume 😂

Can't deny that the Manara in its collection is a work of art. Definitely cannot deny it is a convo starter. For the rest, watches that invoke some fun on the wrist, but would skip the Hublot, though. The others are fair game, for a price.

You are actually only partially correct on the Aluminum vs. Aluminium debate. The name change process Sir Humphrey went though, from Alumium to Aluminum, then aluminium took place over a 5 year span. By the time Sir Humphrey decided upon Aluminium the American heavy industry was already producing the material and decided not to change to the "newer, new name." So if anything the Americans stuck with the original. Both are technically correct, the British just went with the indecisive version.

But they don't call the Beatles "The Silverbeatles" or "The quarrymen" either. With Aluminium it just sounds like a lazy prononciation. (or a speech impediment). It always reminds me that in my own native language some people aren't able to say the word parallel correct. (no joke, i know intelligent people who say "parrarel" )

I actually preferred the green dial Perpetual, but even though it's the only one still in production from that series, you still can't get one. Maybe I'm just not humble enough? What I find odd about Rolex is this whole scarcity thing. I work at a winery (in Napa CA) and we see about 100 people a day on the weekends. Of those, I estimate 25 or so are wearing a Rolex. If it's so hard to get, how come 1 out 4 people I see daily, have one? And although these people seem blessed, they are not at all humble. So, what gives Rolex?

On a trip back from Japan, and free Hong Kong back in the late 70s, he picked up a round red dial LED watch with two times. Not a classic GMT. One time was the correct time. The other “right time”. The right time had the words “time to frack (uck). Point back then, people would ask routinely for the time. When female asked… a “Turtle” type question was asked to her... “Would you like the so called time, or right time?” It got a ton of laughs and good opportunities. Dad gave it to me as a late teen. Crazy successful in days of “disco”. :) Japanese quartz/LED “movement”. Decent quality 14k gold plate. Between his and my LED original Pulsar (from 1973), and the skeleton tuning fork Accutron we also had for sometime, this the “TTF” watch was more popular. 😎

Agree totally re the AP superhero watches. Along with the disastrous Code 11.59 which was already ten to fifteen years outdated when it was released, the brand isn't doing itself any favours.

This was fantastic. I have a suggestion for the worst of the worst. It is the furthest thing from any kind of quality, but it does set a new standard for horrifying. Take a quick gander, and for the safety of your eyeballs I do mean quick, at the new release from Invicta - The Cerberus. I think this even beats their other chain encrusted amalgamation of hideousness. But remember, before you Google it, you've been warned!
