Being fair is in a lot of cultures. I am Hispanic and had no idea that one of my grandparents had an issue with how dark I was and that to her it was a sign of low class status. Traditionally history says that if you were dark it was because you worked outside and were low class/caste. I hope that we have moved on from that but I guess not in some ways. I love the way I look tanned in the summer but now in my 40s I slather on the sunscreen because I get so many sun spots that won’t go away leaving my face not looking for very clear. Love the 90s and thankful the razor never made it to my eyebrows lol but I still don’t have great eyebrows like you and now the hair doesn’t seem to grow back at all. You are totally correct about investing in ourselves whether it’s health or skincare. We only have one body so we have to take care of it. You are beautiful ❤️ I think it’s interesting all the different places you have lived. Would love to know why so many different countries?

I'm so glad that women are finally acknowledging and accepting themselves for who they are. There is definitely a change in past years and people like you have a lot to do with it. It is also sad when our families make us feel that it is important to look "fair" but one thing i have learnt is nothing can defeat self love. People see you differently as soon as you learn to love yourself. When I was young i was told not to play in Sun, to put all sorts of masks to look fair. But the same people today tell their kids to be like me, hardworking and self sufficient. Thank you for contributing to that change

Hahahaha thanks of bringing up Olga from Hey Arnold... Deffo you're 80's kid... Those unibrow. By the way having lived in Europe and Malaysia... I realised this, Humidity plays role in skin. People tend to think if you live in cold country you go fair, wrong ! it makes you dry and pale underneath so you have to use moisturizer and it tends to give you darker shade. In Malaysia the humidity gives you extra glow because theres nature bound moist on skin that keeps you with the tropical tan but with more glow actually. Diet and exercise plays alot of role ... I can't stress enough... How eating more fruits , vegetables and cutting down fried, fatty and sugary food helps. Sweating, great work out makes your skin glow and naturally look vibrant and changes its elasticity. I vouch on this!!! Girls ! Please focus on this before shifting to products. Look at your favourite celebrities they work their ass of in exercise and disciplined enough to change their diet. Give this atleast 2 weeks you'd know the difference, talking from personal experience.

It's funny how I just spoke to my mom about doing my own makeup for my wedding cuz I'm scared of the make-up artists making me look like somebody else! XD N I found your video right away! Couldn't agree more to every single thing you said. I have terrible skin but my cousin sister who were married have such beautiful skin ,spotless ,opposite of what I am... And they all are beautiful wheatish dusky tones which I absolutely love ! But when they were married , I hated their faces ! Honestly ....none of them looked like them ! They looked Soo funny ! Pictures seem fine cuz they are edited but in real?! Hell no! I think people should focus more on skincare and looking healthy and happy over covering it up with make up to fit in a group of people who have weird mindset. And the fact is , as you grow older you learn about things and yourself ....and eventually end up making yourself look much better ! Only if you out in the right effort for it rather than waiting for some miracle . I'm 25 n I still break out ,but much better than teenage time . I can't afford pricey products but I try and figure out alternate methods to learn how my body reacts . I think you can learn the methods and logics from a person but you can't exactly copy anything someone does. I'm glad you honestly tell people cuz it's really important for us to realize it . I ve a similar eyebrow story..During my school days,i shaved my eyebrows thin...And then due to lack of good beauticians at tat time ,my eyebrows were pretty much thin and funny..I tried different parlours and ended up with different shaped brows each month..Three years back i tried my hand at tweezing and pretty much ended up with gaps n both my brows..After that I stopped experimenting with my brows and just applied vitamin E oil for them to grow back..Now am back with thick brows and am thankful tat they grew back inspite the fact that they went thru a lot..🙏

Hi Vithya, loved this video. Something quite unique. Could I request for an updated saree draping video? I and I think the rest of Singapore learnt how to drape from your video in the green Saree. I used to barely wear sarees and would feel super self conscious in them. But I got married last June (to a Brahmin guy too) and naturally have had to wear sarees more often.
