Would you like to know about any other bits of my gear for architecture photography? Drop me a note in the comments below!

Hi, which lenses do you tend to use? I use the mki 24mm tse and sometimes the 17-40mm with varied results.

@@graemedarling2852 I have both the 17mm and 24mm TSE. I have the 15-35mm as well as a 50m and 85mm. I do want to pick up one other lens at some point as well. Oh also I have an adapter to make my 24mm into 35mm.

Great info! I bought a 'BENBO' tripod years ago, solid but quite heavy and have just fitted a manfrotto geared head (3 way) instead of the ball head which has turned it into a really useful accessory.

I have had a Slik 88 tripod for many years, and I've used different cameras, film, digital, camcorder and video, all with no issues. I dare say by today's standards it is heavy and cumbersome, but I've always found it to be very sturdy, although I'm not a fan of tilting the camera into portrait mode and having the camera hang off the side of the tripod. With my physical dexterity decreasing I will be turning to my Slik to support my camera more and more. With thanks to this channel, it will be receiving a 3 way geared head and L bracket for my camera. Should the Slik prove to be too heavy and cumbersome, then I will need to look at replacing it. For now I'm trying to make use of the kit I currently have.

On the verge of pulling the trigger on the GH Pro II+ head and wondering, since this video has it developped any play? How is it holding up?

Hey! Just look after it and ALWAYS take it off the tripod when moving between locations. These things are temperamental (in general not this one in particular). I have repaired mine after a knock last year and now - its great!

Hate those twist-lock leg locks - get a bit of muck in and they don't work properly!

Clip legs in the winter, in the cold are brutal! They get tight over time, get harder to operate and in the cold - ouch! I'd rather clean.

The tripod might be able to take 14kg, but the head is rated for just 4kg.

Right? But what lens and camera combination weighs more than that? Reallt none that I would use in architectural work - which this head is mostly designed for.

Hello. It seems to me that to be a professional you need to buy new and new products every time.
@JamesKerwin

Well perhaps. But as mentioned - my tripod is pretty old actually. So buy once and once only in this case. I downgraded as well to the Benro legs really.

I think it's simply the case that as a professional you need to make sure you have gear that isn't going to let you down - this means making sure that you have gear that is reliable and feels comfortable to use? I think us amateurs are far worse for GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)!!

@@paulowen5539 I think so. To be honest most gear I buy lasts me years and years. I wouldn't buy another drone for example as it makes very little money.

@@JamesKerwin I'm surprised at how little gear you carry with you - you seem to have whittled your kit down to exactly what you need to carry - most of us take the kitchen sink too!
