This last ADCC trials I went up weight to the 77kg .. and these are the two hindulotines I caught in the first two matches. It’s going to take me some time to grow into higher weight classes like 77kg, but I’m done cutting weight and want to just let myself grow 👌.
If you’d like to watch classes from me , as well as others at my gym (10p Austin) , we now have a membership site .. 10patx.tv where we share our classes and also sometimes guest seminars. We currently have a seminar from Jflo judo in there right now for example.. we are just now launching, and the first people to subscribe will get our reduced price for life. We plan to add a lot of content between us as instructors at the gym as well as all the people we bring in to host seminars.
My Instagram is / beneddy10p if you’d like to follow me there.

I think The Rubber Guard guard is severely underrated. There are new avenues to be explored especially from a self defense perspective. I see in the future an innovative approach stemming from Rubber Guard that will revolutionize BJJ similar to what we have seen recently with leg locks.

On the streets it’s pretty risky.. on a hard surface it will be rough and you’ll have to let go immediately if picked up at all.. also would def have to be against just one attacker.. But it was made for mma.. so it’s good there.. it just takes time for people to dedicate to it. Also the cage can mess up rubber guard. Its still improving yea. The biggest thing is improving the overhook / underhook game .. that’s what can lead to it.. and that’s the hardest thing is getting there.

@@BenEddy Yes the scenario I am talking about is a Matt Serra restaurant situation or another scenario I saw overseas in which an irate customer that clearly did not know BJJ attacked a hotel worker. If you were in either one of those altercations you would have easily dispatched of both men. Those are the situations to which I am referring.

I get nervous letting go of the rubber guard leg with only the meat hook controlling posture. Feels like the opponent could just stand up out of it before I can establish Hindu control.
@BenEddy
@BenEddy 2 жыл бұрын
Ah meathook is a strong hold, and it’s a pass off, other arm touches on there before you let off the meathook.. yea gotta setup and time that pass off..

The amount of people not utilizing the rubber guard in MMA makes it hard to watch. I don't understand how more people don't use it 😩 why do people insist on getting smashed while on the bottom using closed or open guard. Eddie literally created a special guard for mma but instead fighters let crotch sniffing wrestlers demolish them when they could learn some rubber guard and win off their back. Smh. I guess if you want something done right you have to do it yourself 👊🏼💪🏼

Do you give up the single with the intention of creating contact for the rubber guard?
@BenEddy
@BenEddy 2 жыл бұрын
I’m working for overhooks and underhooks .. I don’t intentionally want to give up a single.. but if they take it, I want to have a good hold of their upper body.

@seattlesoundisgrunge

It's definitely a little bit of a freak move. But actually most of the flexibility for it comes from your hip flexors. Doing the kungfu move where you pull the foot in front of the face puts way more pressure on your knee. Most of Ben's stuff is actually rubber guard game that doesn't involve the kungfu move. Dead orchards and meat hooks, knee clamp, etc.

It’s actually really easy on the knee.. the leg stays in the same place. It takes a bit of flexibility on the shoulder tho.
