Today I will show one of my favorite ways to make chicken spaghetti. This chicken pasta bake is so versatile and makes a hearty dinner.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups of reporting, unfollowing, and blocking that page
The Real INGREDIENT List
9x13-inch baking dish
1 1/2 lbs cooked chicken
1 lb spaghetti pasta
12 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil
1 small onion
2 small carrots
1 celery stick
2 cloves garlic
4 Tbsp unsalted butter
6 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp Montreal chicken seasoning
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
14.5 oz chicken broth
8 oz half & half
salt and pepper to taste
garnish with fresh parsley

I made this last night...with a little twist. I steamed cauliflower florets and substituted them for the spaghetti. Iy was soooo good!!!! We will be making it again ! Thank you for your delicious recipes!!!

If you make the full batch put half in an aluminum pan and freeze it for another day. Two meals for the cooking time of one!

Love the recipe, i have found making a roux semi-difficult, i think i messed up the first 3 or 4 times in the sense of sauce consistency. The tip i got from chef jean pierre (you can find him on youtube) that it's all about being able to smell the flour getting ready (it should smell like cookies). This helped me greatly in not overburning and knowing when it's ready to add the liquid. Besides this, i think this dish could be a little less heavy on the fat if you: - replace the cream of the half and half, you can keep the milk, but i'd replace the cream with perhaps simply 2 more spoons of butter so that the roux has the same amount of butter as flour (that is recommended traditionally). - less cheese and perhaps half a cup or 1 more cup of starched pasta water (the water you boil the pasta in). All in all, looks like a wonderful dish! Good luck making it!

Hi, can I substitute cream for Almond Milk?? I am Lactose intolerant, and I cannot tolerate cheese, or ANY Milk products like that, thanks. It looks good

Technically many rouxs and gravies can use plain water or broths instead of dairy products. You can use a bit more flour or even corn starch to thicken if needed. Almond milk should do just fine. It may not be as creamy, but it will still work and taste good. Some people enjoy using condensed soup instead of gravy. Hope this helps.

Heavy cream gives it that rich creamy flavor, but rouxs and gravies are still delicious if you use milk.
