The people working on this show have been dealing with comedians doing stupid shit for years. But it takes Kiell earnestly announcing that he planned to kill himself by running into traffic for us to finally hear a sound or camera person audibly suppress laughter.

"Yeah it's better, but I didn't think of that!" lol, damn I love Kiell.

I wasn't sold on the format at first, because watching people watch things can be rough, but it was really interesting hearing about Kiell's approach to tasks and how seriously he takes imitation.

I thought this was just going to be a montage, but having Kiell makes this so good!

I love Taskmaster to such an extent that I really think it's easily the best programme to watch. It brightens my day (or even life). Thank you Big Alex Horne for conceiving it. The choice of the contestants is so spot on.

Good idea for a series, especially during the lull time between series. The fans often ask for people to return, but Alex wants to keep it fresh and not incentivize losing. It’s always fun to hear people talk about Taskmaster after they’ve been on.

I agree about the stupid task. Kiell was robbed. He was told to do something stupid. Even if that wasn't the stupid thing he was trying to do, it was damn stupid.

This is so much better than Taskmasterclass. And is more like what I expected from Taskmasterclass. I would love to see more like this with all the other contestants!

The potato catching task was very weirdly phrased, if I remember right Ivo actively refused to use a pen because he thought it would break the 'no touch' rule. I feel like if the task was in an earlier series, Ivo and Kiell would get a bonus point for not touching anything.

A hat trick of episode wins is common. In the 10-episode era, the only way you can avoid at least one contestant winning 3 episodes is if every contestant wins exactly 2 episodes each. Richard Herring and John Robins hold the record for most episodes won in a series, with 5 each. Ed Gamble and Guz Khan won 4 each. Then there's a whole raft of people (18) who won 3 each, including Kiell.

I think Greg knew he would be lynched if he wasn't nice to Jenny.

He sounds like the MOST desperate to win, even more than some other famously stressed-about-winning candidates. Many people I think were not too happy that Mae was just so efficient in winning, but they also had a mostly even temper about it.

So confused by this. I assumed the premise would be that the comedian (well, the production team actually) would select from the tasks where they got 5 or 4 points on, building an artificial best possible performance for the contestant, who could joke boast and be goofily celebrated. But here we don't even see the scores for the tasks, and one of them had Kiell being disqualified. This is *such* a fantastic idea for a clip show, but it seemed to sorta stop short of its potential. That said, the all-new commentary on (and the tight re-editing of) each task really adds a lot, so it was of course still a great watch. Looking forward to more.

Please watch some reaction channels and videos and see how simple the filming is. There is one camera and it all stays in one location, and is excellently edited. Reaction and Commentary channels and videos were KING on KZfaq from the late 2000s through mid to late 2010s. Some of the biggest channels EVER on KZfaq have been reaction channels or gaming channels (which has someone commenting on the game while they play). This is a proven successful media template. By following a format that millions of people are familiar with (again, reaction and commentary videos) you allow the reactor or past contestant to be the focus of the video. I understand you all have worked in TV your whole careers and it may feel wrong to copy an Internet video format, but you have to. It's too distracting to watch a reaction and commentary video with added fat, which only cheapens the video and makes it feel "try hard." This video requires the following changes: - only 1 camera on the reactor - when talking about the video the reactor needs to talk towards a single focus. It can either be the camera, the laptop, or the crew. The reactor can move while talking, of course it's important to keep it all looking natural, but they also need to help the viewers imagine where they would be in the room if they were there too. Know where your audience is, and then your viewers will as well. - You guys are master editors, please edit down the video. Do not leave footage of the reactor just watching the video. Only include the reactor on screen when they're emoting or talking. - remember, the Internet has BILLIONS of things to look at and spend your time on. There are MILLIONS of videos on KZfaq. You have to justify every second of this video to the viewer, otherwise they may get bored and click away. I know you guys care about your fans, and want to make something professional, unique, and fun for us to watch. You can still do that by using a common template because it's your reactors and their insights that are special and interesting. That's why we clicked on this video and why will click on the next one.
