Urban bugout bag for the modern scenario, a realistic checklist. The 30L bag weighs just 9 kg (20 pounds), but holds all the items you need to survive for a few days and even more. Just enough to get you home or to a safe location.

A Couple things friendly opinion/advice 1. Loved the backpack design very cool. 2. Should think about switch your water bottle to stainless steel that way you have the option of boiling your water in it. 3. if you are not prepacking water into your water bottle, you should consider putting some extra small item essentials into it. 4. I think you should definitely get you a more dependable knife, you said yourself you got to constantly sharpen it. invest in something more reliable, there's tons of cheap decent knifes out there. 5. as far as your cooking stove personally I would drop it and instead get a set of small metal tent stakes and stick them into the ground as your stove and just use wood to heat your food with. would greatly reduce the space and weight of your bag. 6. Loved the tarp very good choice man. 7. you should look into adding the platypus water filter straw as a backup as well. light weight and small and extremely good.

A few things I'd like to address, firstly I would suggest it just getting a dedicated whistle, compass, and lens instead of that combo whistle thing. Secondly insect repellent does not work on ticks at all. If you want to keep ticks away you'd be better off using permethrine and/or a tick removal tool. I'd also swap out those matches for stormproof matches.

A well thought out approach to an Urban Bug Out Bag. I suggest a small pry bar. It would be a little extra weight, but it might be useful in acquiring supplies (depending on the circumstances), and it might serve a dual purpose as a defensive weapon. Thank you for the video.

Helpful tip: When looking for gear, look up backpacking & hiking items & accessories, I'm a bikepacker, as well as a prepper, so coming from that background, it makes me really focus on size & weight, & I try as best as I can to buy items that AT LEAST do 3 in 1 things, it helps cut down on a lot of weight.

The thing with the bag looking like a civilian vs military bag is incorrect. anyone with a bag is going to be a target because you possibly have supplies in it.
@LittleUrbanPrepper
@LittleUrbanPrepper Жыл бұрын
It matters. In beginning the civilian bag will be looked as a college or office bag while a military bag will be assumed the one with more and better supplies. In later times a civilian bag will show you meek and vulnerable means anyone who attack you will without much thought and planning, which you have better chances to win or avoid. While with a military backpack you will be assumed as skilled, fighter, army guy etc and thus if someone attack you it'll be with proper planning and preferably from a distance to avoid confrontation.
@jhoncater227
@jhoncater227 Жыл бұрын
@@LittleUrbanPrepper yes i agree but people know about preppers,ordinary people and wanting to hide in a serious situation. plus with all the videos saying don't buy military backpacks everyone gonna be assuming that anyone with a backpack has military training that there just hiding because they want to be seen as a civilian.

I thought that might be the case from your accent. In the USA many commercial buildings have outdoor spigots, but usually those spigots don't have handles. A Silock key is what is used to turn water on and off. If you did a google search you could see what one looked like. You can buy them in any hardware store and they would cost less than $10.00 US. It would ba a good addition yo your tool roll. Keep up the great work.

One thing I don't understand. If SHTF and u can't use your car, why not pack alternate transportation...like a scooter or a folding bike...or regular bike. That way, u don't have to set off on foot and u make time and thus can possibly carry less gear to make it home. Why does everyone set off on foot? Just sayin'

10:45 ... Rope attachment is called a *LAN-YARD* kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7-GpsedyLu6iqs.html A lanyard is a cord, length of webbing, or strap that may serve any of various functions, which include a means of attachment, restraint, retrieval, and activation and deactivation. The word lanyard actually comes from the French word of *“laniere”* which means strap or thong. The first lanyards were just simple straps made of rope or cord found aboard the ship and tied around a pistol, sword or whistle. A lanyard is also a piece of rigging used to secure or lower objects aboard a ship.

9:07 *"CARA-BI-NER"* kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bKykaa6BsbbUZJc.html Why is a carabiner called a carabiner? The word carabiner entered English some time around 1915, during World War I. The word ultimately has its roots in the German word Karabinerhaken, meaning “carbine hook”-a hook used to connect a soldier's carbine (a type of rifle) to a strap. In English, the word was shortened to carabiner.

Really nice bag, but in my eyes a bit overkill. If I'd be in an urban environment when the sh*t hits the fan, I would want to contact my loved ones to say that i'm fine and on the way home. You don't have any communication devices included. (Your mobile probably won't Work because the net is the net is blocked due to too many falls going out of the city) Than some cash (unlikely that the whole country went south at once and money is not accepted anymore). And of course water, some Food and shelter. Your bag leaves the Impression as If you plan on staying in a nearby forrest till the city is rebuild.
