Time-stamped so you can skip the waffle if you like! This time, I'm adding some sweet borders using very simple stitches, a small sample of bargello and a sprinkle of beads to finish up my "B" pages.

Thank you so much Rhonda, it makes me very happy to know that you're enjoying watching my efforts - I feel like the main thing I have to teach or show anyone is, just jump in, have a go and enjoy it, because if I can do it, anyone can :)

I’m amazed at how these beautiful decorative stitches are made up of the basics we know yet look so gorgeous. I’d never have tried them until seeing you create such a beautiful book. Annie you give so much joy and I’m so grateful Thankyou 💞

Thank you so much Gillian, that's a lovely thought - I must say that if my Gran or my Mum had made something like this, it would be one of my treasures, it's really nice to think that someone will be looking through this book in years to come - maybe even using bits of it in their own slow-stitching projects and wondering about the person who stitched it ... gives me shivers to thnk about it! xo

Thanks so much Paula 😊 There are loads of borders like that in that book, all from very simple basic stitches, I really enjoyed following them, very satisfying :)

Thank you Annie for your video and company today. Your book is looking glorious and I love the borders ,just shows you what combining stitches does thanks for the timestamps really useful. Funnily enough I am sitting here beading with my contraption on my head to help me see. I look as if I have stepped of a spaceship. Oh the joys of age and eyesight. Never mind it cheered up the postman as I had pushed it over my head and forgot about it. I am sure now he is firmly convinced that I am eccentric or is it weird.😂😂

Hehehe thank you for watching Carol and for giving me a giggle - i have one of those contraptions too and I can just imagine forgetting and going to the door with it still stuck on top of my head like that :D

It's really quick and easy if you do a simple pattern like that one Pauline and if you use that plastic canvas stuff you can make them into boxes and things as well :)

Your treasury of vintage stitches is looking so wonderful Annie and I love the additional elements you are adding! I’m the same as you and hate having anything on my skin too. Mineral foundation is my preferred one as it is light and I can’t feel it. But working from home I choose to wear no makeup. Cheers, Christine

Thanks so much Christine and thanks for the original inspiration. I think this project will keep me going to the rest of the year at least, but I'm really enjoying it. Oh yes, yet another benefit of working from home - no make-up, no bra, no shoes! I guess it's good that we can use make-up to make ourselves look and feel at our best if we choose to, and I know some people really enjoy it, but to me it's never come naturally and it seems strange that it's become almost an obligation to put cack all over your face when you go out, there even seems to be a trend for looking artificial, like with the scary eyebrows and contouring and impossible nails and stuff. When I was in my teens I had eyebrows that would be bang on trend these days, but at that time (mid-70s) the fashion was for very thin brows, so a lot of painful plucking was involved. Despite studying Jackie magazine like an instruction manual on how to be a proper girl I never really did get the hang of it! :)

Hi Annie, I am so glad I came across this vid., don't know how I missed it 🙄🙄 I have that simple embroidery book, I bought it years ago ,when I re-discovered embroidery, slow stitching etc from all you great people out there & your tutorials, I have only glanced at the stitch book & didn't realise they explain exactly how to do them, the pictures were a bit daunting to look at, but you've set me straight 😍😍 I have a great collection of stitching books I'v picked up at op-shops very cheaply, it's about time I got into them !!!!! Your stitching book is looking very lovely TFS PS Always good to get that cursed bra off 😅😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂

Hi Pauline, I'm glad you did too! Yea that's a sweet little book with lots of info packed into it - I want to try the floral motifs they show later in the book as well, they look really pretty and hopefully do-able. Ah yes the cursed underwired torture device :D
