This film had so many call backs and references to the older Bond films with my favourites being songs from On Her Majesty's Secret Service my personal favourite Bond film. Not 100% sure but I feel like this film has the most classic Bond call backs to any of the other Craig Bond films. Felt like a fun little love letter to Bond as a whole not just Daniel Craig.
@andarporbuenosaires
@andarporbuenosaires Жыл бұрын
It´s a very different movie from all those by Daniel Craig like 007, it breathes a retro air and pays homage to the old 007 movies from the Sean Connery and George Lazenby era, especially: On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which pays homage to it with lines like : "We have all the time in the world" and in the music too, there are 2 songs from that movie and Louis Armstrong's song "We Have All The Time in The World" at the end, which was the love theme of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", a film that was also somewhat different from Connery's, because it was a more human Bond, he also fell in love and got married.

Perhaps it would have been good if they had seen the movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" before seeing: "No Time To Die" to understand all the references and tributes to that movie, it would have been an extra plus if they had They would have liked it and they would have understood No Time To Die better, when Bond says some lines from that movie or when the iconic themes of that movie sound, I was moved when all those references to that classic movie appeared.

Finally we have again the sociopathic villain who wants to annihilate humanity, we have the island where the villain lives and where he carries out his plan, we also have the classic Aston Martin full of gadgets, everything like in the old movies of the saga, really a It was a pleasure to see all that again in a Bond film, that classic style was missed, because in Craig's previous films we haven't had as much of that, they were more modern stories, more of these times.

My main takeaway watching this film was they did right by Daniel Craig. I’m sad they killed him off but it was the most perfect ending, most perfect send off they could have given him in his final turn in the role, and the cinematography of his end (just the perfect image of him stood on that roof in the sunlight with his daughters toy on his belt/braces was just *chefs kiss*) I absolutely LOST IT when they did the proper ‘in situ’ version in the circular corridor, of the gunbarrel sequence they have at the start of every film, plus it had a hint of the theme music in the background which was the icing on the cake

I think my favorite of the Daniel Craig era will always be Casino Royale. It was just such a massive tonal shift in every possible right way for the entire franchise. I will forever remember being so incredulous about his casting and being completely converted in the first 10 minutes of the movie. But No Time to Die is nearly a tie for favorite. It is such a beautiful and fitting way to wrap up his time as Bond. And Rami Malick is just so freaking terrifying.

This was overall such an amazing franchise. While some films stood out, the franchise was fairly consistent in delivering an action packed movie, which is exactly what the audience wants from a Bond film. No Time to Die was actually quite different from the other franchise films in the sense that it gave a lot of attention to the emotional aspect of Bond which we typically do not get to see much of. I think it was the perfect ending to Daniel Craig as Bond while setting up very high stakes for the next Bond actor to take his place. PS: Love your guys reaction to these films!! Am looking forward to the next franchise you guys plan on doing. If you guys are looking for a good show recommendation, I would love to see you guys react to the show Lucifer. This was the first bond movie i've watched in the theatre's, and throughout this is my absolute favourite of all the bond movies i've seen and goldeneye, the build-up of this story was taking it slow and having it come full circle with the end of his storyline and seeing that it may not be the end as James having a daughter was a beautifull addition to it, i did think it might happen but didn't expect it would majorly happen, and making it was just something i think wasn't like there, an end to their character's wasn't there in the previous versions of bond, just absolute beautiful movie and Rami Malek didn't expect him being a bad guy, but when i saw the trailer he made it very good with the motive.

The Louis Armstrong song "We Have All The Time In The World" and the use of that expression in the film refer back to the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It was the only Bond film where the actor playing Bond, George Lazenby, only played the role in one film, but On Her Majesty's Secret Service was one of the best films in the series. It also starred the late Diana Rigg as Teresa Di Vicenzo, one of the best Bond women of all the films and my personal favorite.

I thought that it was interesting that Craig’s last lines shared with Madeline reminded me of the other two of the biggest franchises in the world Star Wars and Harry Potter. The line “she has your eyes” is so similar to “you have your mother’s eyes” in Harry Potter. Then Craig replies “I know” which is the line that Han Solo replies to Leia’s “I love you” in Empire Strikes back. Two references to the most emotional parts of the two most popular franchises being used to wrap up Craig’s tenure is the most satisfying thing to think about and I really hope that it was intentional.

I had a similar experience but not only was I crying because it was Daniel Craig's last film but my dad was a big James Bond fan but he passed away before No Time To Die came out so I had to watch it without him. It was kind of a lot to go through in one sitting. We bonded (no pun intended) over films. He's the one who introduced me to a lot of films including James Bond. Goldfinger was his favorite. When I got all the films in the blu ray set we had a blast watching them from Dr. No all the way up to Skyfall and then we watched Specter when that came out. He passed in 2018. It was Craigs' last film, it was called 'No Time To Die, Bond died at the end, and my Dad passed before we could watch it together. I enjoy the film but it's a bittersweet experience watching it.

I would suggest watching older Bonds, at least some of them. This film refers OHMSS a lot, and that also would be a perfect suggestion. The writing in the Pierce Brosnan series might not be consistently as good but I think you 2 would enjoy that series too, it has everything you came to the series to see, his one liners, the gadgets and stylish bravado without being too corny like Roger Moore or misogynistic like Sean Connery.

9:00 he was actually shooting directly at her to shred the ice. Bullets slow down DRAMATICALLY in water(as shown in John Wick) Plus they had to penetrate ice thick enough to walk on.. Remember Wick had to literally put the barrel of his gun to the mans chest when they were in the pool fighting.

The song at the end, Louis Armstrong's "We Have All The Time In The World", is a direct callback to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" starring George Lazenby as James Bond (his only movie, sadly). If you haven't seen it yet, please check it out.

As a bond fan that grew up watching the marathons on tbs every year, I loved every bit of this movie INCLUDING the end. I don't understand the bond fan base being sooooo upset with it. The point of the Craig bond films was to make bond realistic and naturally that ending should be on the table if you are going to be realistic. One man can only "dodge that bullet" so many times. As far as overall consistency I think the Craig bond films are the best of the franchise (everyone will agree casino and Skyfall are the best but I actually liked spectre. Giving all the threads and legal issues with the franchise they did they best they could. Quantum was my least fav but the villains plot of controlling a water supply has actually aged well.) The song for this is right behind Skyfall by Adele for me, but all time gold finger is the one that sticks out at top.

The one where bond dies. I didn't even think it was a bad film overall, but that will forever be its legacy no matter how many times they reboot. The death of an icon.

I saw this movie at theaters when it came out and I thought it was pretty good. I’m glad you guys have been watching the bond films, very good and iconic franchise. Also is cobra Kai a choice of next show to watch on patreon? Because if it isn’t it definitely should be, it’s a great show.

I know many don't like for the ending, but I love this movie, I think one of Craig's best like 007, very good action, the classic story with the villain who wants to destroy the world, the island of the villain, Bond's car: the classic Aston Martin of Sean Connery 007 movies, full of gadgets, everything like in the old 007 movies. It is also very well filmed, and with 35mm film roll cameras, not digital, that's the good thing, and it shows because the image is beautiful. Hans Zimmer's music, very good. And also the homage at various times to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a cult movie from the old 007 movies, all of that made this movie win my heart.

I recommend watching the Pierce Brosnan Bond films. The lead villain, played by Rami Malek, also starred in the Night at the Museum trilogy, The Pacific, Mr. Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned him a Best Actor Oscar

Regarding Bond calling Felix his brother and them not being that close, it's how Felix introduced himself the first time they met in Casino Royale. "Brother from Langley".

I enjoyed No Time To Die but honestly i had problems with some of it & rate it below Casino Royale & Skyfall. Also, you should definitely watch a handful of the best Bond films or even just the Brosnan one's which are mostly great.

This borrowed quite a bit from the earlier Bond film and book, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, particularly the music and one of the story arcs. Rami Malek’s Saffin has a lot in common with Blofeld from the Bond novel You Only Live Twice.
