Took a big hit at Road Atlanta before my first race of the weekend. Hit head first into the pavement at 140mph so I’ll consider myself lucky that I could walk away from this. I don’t remember anything between the wreck itself and the official yelling “it’s on fire”. Make sure to give the video a like and channel a follow to keep up with this crazy racing adventure.. because I’m not done.

Dont let a single person try to convince you that you were in the wrong or that there was plenty of time and room to evade. That dude needs to go back to school or quit one.

100% on this. No chance it wasn't that guys fault. Swinging left 20 ft on a 100+ mph straight away is dumb af.

Man this is wild and certainly infuriating. From the insane maneuver that caused the wreck to the track volunteers giving conflicting commands "get back", "there's an extinguisher right there if you wanna try", "dude sit down". Then telling the paramedics you're the one who's 'loopy'. No way anyone would've put that fire out if you hadn't. Glad to see you up and walking. Hope the bikes repairable.

Track yaahoo who told me not to put my own bike out would get a close-up of the knuckle protection on my racing gloves. He should be fired and sued. The idiot that cut all the way across a high speed staightaway should get his racing liscense torn up in front of him and banned from all tracks!

Yea people who haven’t been to this track don’t realize how fast this part of the track is.. my video does it no justice either. I was about 150.. and there isn’t a simple “you should have turned left” or “just turn right bro” at those speeds. Any turn I would have done might have changed where I hit him by a few inches.. just wish I would have slowed down sooner, but I honestly didn’t think he was coming all the way over. Live and learn I suppose

Glad you’re ok, all things considered could have been a lot worse. Obviously goes without saying, the other rider is a goober and needs to reevaluate his racing career. This goes as a perfect lesson to everyone that you gotta always be looking AND if you ever go off pace a foot out or a arm up and obviously dont cut into the line of other racers. That dude needs to go back into novice for some tows. I get why he went off line, to try to be nice and let faster bikes have the line, but that swing back into the line was unpredictable AF and he should have just rode the line and let others pass as needed. Really hope he at least got talked to and understands that he is 100% at fault on this one. We all F up and make bad choices on the track sometimes, and I know it's big boy rules out there, but a F up like that would have me offering to at least help with fixing the bike/replacing gear. More riders need to accept actual responsibility when they are clearly the ones at fault. Also.... I don't blame you 1 bit for putting the fire out with the official yelling lol. I know they tell you not to touch the bike after the bar ends touch the ground, but f that, if my shits on fire, track's clear, and I have an extinguisher.... I'm putting it out. Hopefully it'd not too bad, see ya soon!

Damn dude, glad you’re ok and was able to get up, walk and put out your own bike. That’s crazy, I was in that race but was in the pits. I heard there was a red flag on the sight lap, now I know/see what happened. Again glad you’re good, that’s the fastest part of the track but it’s a sighting lap so you’re not pushing as you normally would. Yeah, it’s totally that guys fault no question; I know that guy too. That just didn’t make sense. Like someone else said there’s always something to learn for every situation. I can’t believe the corner workers slow response; especially that your bike was fire. The only thing I can think of is they we’re waiting for the all clear / the last bike to pass before going on the track. Still slow response regardless. See you at Barber man.

At the end of it, we both walked away to race another day. Feelings and what not aside, that’s all that really matters. I’m not too sure why nobody came out.. This whole situation looked like a cluster duk from the very beginning. Did marshall come out from behind the wall with an extinguisher in his hand? I hope the event organizer takes a good look at this video and makes some changes beginning with how they bring the bikes to pit out. I hope the rider who took you out learns from his mistake

I saw the rider, and all the other riders around me… what I didn’t have was a KZfaq video showing me what he was going to do like everybody watching this video has. I did my best to guess what he was going to do.. which was probably speed back up or cut to the middle knowing everybody is hugging left while accelerating. He did neither so I guessed wrong. Nothing more to it really than to learn, rebuild, and do better next time. Appreciate it man.
